February 9, 2011 I am sorry for the delay in getting the Thompson PTA Newsletter together. Thompson PTA would like to thank all of those who participated in the fall fundraiser. It was a big success. Red Ribbon Week and Bully Free week were back to back. It was a busy two weeks. Lisa Hux and Mrs. Lukose worked very hard on getting things together for both events. Thank you to those students who helped put up the ribbons around the school. During Bully Free week the T.A.G. team got together to bring the Morris Brothers show to our community. It was a wonderful and informative show on how to deal with bullies. (T.A.G.= Thompson, Achziger, and Gentry PTAs) The Turkey Trot seems so long ago. But it was so nice seeing all the parents, and parent / grandparent volunteers. A big thanks goes to the Horn High School students for volunteering their time. We would not have had Turkey Trot without the awesome Mrs. Spain. Every year she gets the Turkey Trot together and does an outstanding job. Thank you, Mrs. Spain, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Hernandez. PTA always enjoys getting together with Thompson Student Council for the can food drive. The students brought in over 2500 food items. Way to go Thompson. Thank you, Ms. Nicholson, for organizing this event. FALL AND WINTER NEWSLETTER Thompson PTA News The new year has started off with the Sock Hop. The students that brought in socks, underwear, and gently used clothes got to go to the Sock Hop. The donations go to the Mesquite Clothes Closet.
