FRUIT OF THE WORD The seed is the word of God. The ag-ricultural metaphors in all of today’s read-ings give richness to the message that the word of God, cultivated in our hearts, bears much fruit in our lives. Creation itself awaits the redemption of all, even as our bodies await the resurrection. Just as we will rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s word, so will all of creation sing for joy in the Reign of God. The word of God is ef-fective and holy; it brings about exactly what it says. It is not futile or empty, but rich in meaning for those who hear and are healed. Those who hear the word of God and keep it will, with all creation, bear much fruit and sing for joy.

palabra de Dios, cultivada en nuestro corazón, produce mucho fruto en nuestra vida. La creación misma espera la redención de todos, hasta nues-tro cuerpo aguarda la resurrección. Así como nos regocijamos por el cumplimiento de la Palabra de Dios, así la creación toda cantará de gozo en el Reino de Dios. La Palabra de Dios es eficaz y santa, produce exactamente lo que dice. No es inútil ni vacía, sino rica en significado para quie-nes la escuchan y son sanados. Quienes escuchan la palabra de Dios y la guardan, con toda la crea-ción, darán mucho fruto y cantarán de gozo.

A TIME OF REGENERATION The month of July is dedicated to The Precious Blood of Jesus. The Blood that coursed through the veins of Christ was a part of that Sacred Humanity made possible by the maternity of Mary, whose parents, St. Joa-chim and St. Anne are honored this month. (July 26). Our Lord's blood poured out on the Cross pur-chased our salvation, washed clean the robes of the martyrs, and gave birth to the Church as it flowed from his wounded side. The Precious Blood of Christ -now pulsing through his Mystical Body -continues its salvific work, preserving and purifying, repairing and providing nourishment for regeneration and renewal of its members. July’s longer and warmer days also provide us with the opportunity for renewal, both interior and exterior. Schedules relax and pressures ease, remember that we preach to others -by our conduct, our speech, even the clothes we wear. May we be modest in everything we do and “preaching” Christ to everyone we meet. The summer Readings of Ordinary Time remind us that our earthly pilgrimage is also a journey, a great adventure towards union with Christ, the Beginning and the End of our journey. Each Sunday with its Easter renewal be-comes a mile marker along the way, linking where we have been with where we are going. May the Precious Blood of Jesus sustain us as we journey to our true home, with Mary and the angels as our companions on the way.

UN TIEMPO DE REGENERACIÓN El mes de julio está dedicado a La Preciosa Sangre de Jesús. La Sangre que corría a través de las venas de Cristo era parte de la Sagrada Huma-nidad que fue posible gracias a la maternidad de María, cuyos padres, San Joaquín y Santa Ana se honran este mes. (26 de julio). La sangre de nuestro Señor derramada en la Cruz compró nuestra salvación, limpió las túnicas de los mártires y dio a luz a la Iglesia que fluía de su lado herido. La Preciosa Sangre de Cristo -que ahora

palpita a través de su Cuerpo Místico- continúa su obra salví-fica, preservando y purificando, reparando y proveyendo ali-mento para la regeneración y renovación de sus miembros. Los días más largos y calurosos de julio también nos brindan la oportunidad de renovación, tanto interior como exterior. Los horarios se relajan y las presiones se tranquilizan, recor-demos que predicamos a los demás -con nuestra conducta, palabras, incluso la ropa que llevamos. Que seamos modestos en todo lo que hacemos y "predicamos" a Cristo a todos los que nos encontramos. Durante el verano las Lecturas del Tiempo Ordinario nos re-cuerdan que nuestra peregrinación terrenal es también un via-je, una gran aventura hacia la unión con Cristo, el Principio y el Fin de nuestro viaje.
