Full Colour Range

The ASE fi les contain 3M colours for the Adobe Creative Suite CS2-CS6 in the variants Standard RGB and CMYK (offset coated paper).

Adobe Illustrator Destination Directory :

■ Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CSx\Presets\Color Swatches

■ The adherence to this destination path is not necessary for the availability of the palettes in the program.

Application

1. Choose the menu command ”Window/Swatches“.

2. Click on the little arrow in the top right corner of the window.

3. Select ”Colour fi eld library“ and choose ”Other library ...“.

4. Open in the following window the installed palette (ase fi le).

5. A click on the wanted colour fi eld adds it to the list.

6. Create your designs in 3M!

Adobe InDesignDestination Directory :

■ Adobe\Adobe Indesign CSx\Presets\Color Swatches

■ The adherence to this destination path is not necessary for the availability of the palettes in the program.

Application

1. Open the window ”Colour fi elds“.

2. Click on the little arrow in the top left corner of the window.

3. Select ”Colour mode“ in the window ”New colour fi eld“ and then the entry ”Other library“.

4. Open in the following window the installed palette (ase fi le).

5. Mark the wanted 3M colours in the list and click on ”Add“.

6. The 3M colours will now be copied into the window ”Colour fi elds“.

7. Create your designs in 3M!

Application

1. Open Photoshop and go to ”Window/Show colour fi elds“.

2. Click on the little arrow in the top right corner of the Colour fi elds window and select ”Load colour fi elds“.

3. In the following window you can open the installed palette (ase fi le).

4. Design in 3M!

CorelDRAW Application

1. Draw any object in CorelDRAW!

2. Click on the colour selection fi eld (bucket) in the help bar and the colour area symbol.

3. Choose the register rider to the right in the program (”Adjusted Palettes“)

4. Click ”Type/ Open Palette“ and select the desired 3M Palette from the above mentioned directory.

5. The palette is availabe in the list with a short description.

6. Choose ”Options/Show colour names“.

7. By ”View/ Load Color Palette“ opens a ”docking window“ where you can select among the installed colour palettes in a very quick way (”Load“). Practical for the different 3M output optimiziations! In this window indicated palettes can be loaded as an addition to the diverse 3M-palettes with the “load” command.

8. You can now design with the 3M-colours!

Application in other Corel products In Corel PHOTO-PAINT you can access the same colour selection window by fi rst opening a new or existing 24-bit colour image, and then double-clicking on one of the current colours in the horizontal bottom bar. As described above, docking window, rollup window and permanent colour palette are accessible also in Corel PHOTO-PAINT 8.x.

Corel DREAM 3D and Corel DEPTH do not allow use of 3M colour fi les, as they do not support user-defi ned colour palettes.

Turn off Corel-colour management!

In order to achieve a correct colour representation of the 3M-colours in the Corel products the Corel-colour management needs to be shut off.

Version 9-11

1. Go to „extras/colour management“.

2. Deactivate „calibrate colour for the display“

3. Deactivate „display simulated printer colours“

Version X3-X6

1. Go to „extras/colour management“.

2. Switch the colour management to OF.
