HISTORY

Google launched its AdSense program, originally named content targeting advertising in

March 2003. The AdSense name was originally used by applied semantics, a competitive

offering to AdSense and then adopted by Google after Google acquired applied semantics in

April 2003. Applied semantics was started in 1998 by Gilad Elabaz and Adam Wessiman.

Some advertisers complained that AdSense yielded worse results than ad words, since it

served ads that related contextually to the content was likely to be related to a user’s

commercial desires than search results.

For example : someone browsing a blog dedicated to flowers was less likely to be interested

in ordering flowers than someone searching for terms related to flowers as a result ,in 2004

Google allowed its advertisers to opt out of the AdSense network.

Paul buhheit, the founder of Gmail, had the idea to run ads within Google email service. But

he and others say it was Susan Wojicicki, with the backing of Sergey brin, who organized the

team that adapted that into idea into an enormously successful product .

By early 2005 AdSense accounted for an estimated 15 percent of Google’s total revenues.

In 2009, Google AdSense announced that it would now be offering features, including the

ability “enable multiple networks to display ads “.

In February 2010, Google AdSense started using search history in contextual matching to

offer more relevant ads.

On January 21, 2014, Google AdSense launched direct campaigns a tool where publishers

may directly sell ads.

INTRODUCTION

Google launched its AdSense program, originally named content targeting advertising in

March 2003. The AdSense name was originally used and applied semantics. A competitive

offering to AdSense and then adopted by Google acquired applied semantics in April 2003.

Applied semantics was started in 1998 by Gilad Elazand Adam Wessiman. Some advertisers

complained that AdSense yielded worse results than Ad words, since it served ads that are

related contextually to the content on a web page and that content was less likely to be related

to a user’s commercial desires than search results.

Google AdSense is a program run by Google that allows publishers in the Google network of

content sites to serve automatic text, image, video, or interactive media advertisements are

administered ,sorted , and maintain by Google ,and they can generate revenue on either a per

Page 3: Full doc. copy

click or per impression basis . Google beta tested a cost per action service, but discontinued it

in October 2008 in favour of a double click offering (also owned by Google). In 2014 Google

earned US $ 3.4 billion ($13.6 billion annualized), or 22 % of total revenue ,through Google

AdSense. AdSense is a participant in the ad choices program, so AdSense ads typically

include the triangle-shaped ad choice icon.

AdSense is a free, simple way to earn money by displaying targeted ads next to your online

content. With AdSense, you can show relevant and engaging ads to your site visitors and

even customize the look and feel of ads to match your website.

What is Google AdSense?

Google uses its internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content,

users geographical location, and others factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google’s

targeted advertisement system may enrol through Google ad words. AdSense has become one

of the popular programs that specialises in creating and placing banner advertisements on a

website, because the advertisements are less intrusive and the content of the advertisements is

often relevant to the website.

Many websites use AdSense to monetize their content, it is the most popular advertising

network. AdSense had been particularly important or delivering advertising revenue to small

websites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and sales

people to generate revenue with.

To display contextually relevant advertisements on website, webmasters place a brief

JavaScript code on the websites pages.

Websites that are content rich have been very successful with this advertising program, as

noted in a number of publisher case studies on the AdSense website. Absence publishers may

not only place up to three link units on a page , addition to the three standard ad units , and

two search boxes. This restriction is applicable for premium publishers who work directly

with account managers at Google.

Here are some webmasters put significant efforts into maximizing their own AdSense

income. They do this in three ways:

They use a wide range of traffic – generating techniques, including but not limited to

online advertising.

They build valuable content on their websites that attracts AdSense advertisements,

which pay out the most when they are clicked.

They use text content on their websites that encourages visitors to click on

advertisements. Note that Google prohibits webmasters from using phrases like ‘click

on my AdSense ads’ to increase click rates. The phrases accepted are ‘sponsored

links’ and ‘advertisements’.

The sources of all AdSense income is ad words program, which in turn has a complex pricing

model based on a Vickers second price auction. AdSense commands an advertisement to

submit a sealed bid (i.e. a bid not observable by competitors). Additionally, for any given

click received, advertisers only pay one bid increment above the second-highest bid. Google

currently shares 68% of revenue generated by AdSense with content network partners, and

51% of revenue generated by AdSense with AdSense for search partners.

Need of Google AdSense in today’s business?

There are many factors you need to consider but main thing is to make money with

Google AdSense is the concept behind great part of today’s business many people

make nice money with Google AdSense that allows them to quit their regular jobs .

So there are 4 important Dimensions or 4 pillars of the Google AdSense money

making machine:

1. Earning- Per- Click: This is how much the advertiser has to pay to you through

Google if your visitor clicks an ad on your web site.

2. Page impressions: This is directly related to the number of people who visit your

web site and view your web page.

3. Click –Through- Rate: This is the ratio of people who click the ads on your

pages.

4. Vital but often neglected know- how: There are many important things nobody

tells you about. When you read our make money with Google AdSense guide ,

you will see that are pretty much common sense , but the problem is that as people

get over whelmed by so many things and concentrate on traffic or CTR people just

tend to forget or avoid these.

It is probably obvious that you need to employ different techniques to improve in

each of these areas, but the important point is that they are closely related, and you

need to consider all four when optimizing your web site. Our make money with

Google AdSense guide focuses on all four of these dimensions.

Real world examples:

Impressions; 30000/ month

Click through rate (CTR):5%

Earning per click (EPC):20 cents

Let’s say, you have a web site that attracts some 1000 visitors (page impressions)

per day (=30000/ month). A web site this is no big deal. A web site like this can

be done in a few months of evening work. You can write articles about your

hobby or commentaries on current economic and political situation, whatever,

anything you enjoy.

Most small web sites average some 5% click through rate. Many small web sites

run between 5 and 10% CTR , but having 10% CTR is more of a dream that only

MFA (Made for AdSense ) web sites have 5% is a nice CTR which you can

accomplished relatively easily, especially if you have a niche content web site

with web site with well positioned Google AdSense ads.

If you do the math now, your 30000 monthly visitors generate 1500 clicks

/month. Per click pay out averaging 20 cents is pretty common , so if we do 1500

click s times 20 cents is pretty common, so if we do 1500 clicks times 20 cents,

we get $ 300 per month .of course ,you have to subtract some costs such as web

hosting an domain registration , but those are minimal . I hear, you say $300 per

month is not much. But considering that you spend only several weeks of your

evening free time to set this up, and then you keep getting this annuity for many

years down the road effortless.

Key Elements of Google AdSense are:

we’ve been supporting for 10 years. Genuinely useful, original content helps your

minutes to make a difference, simply update your preference to text and image ads

rather than one or the other .it’s a quick and easy change – potentially with a big

impact on revenue image ads complete in the same auction as text ads choose both

types increase the competition and may help you earn more.

3. Think multi-channel: just using text ads on your desktop website. Try diversifying

with tailored ads for your online games, video content, mobile site and apps. Try

adding a Google search box to your desktop site too. Users can search without

leaving your site and you’ll earn revenue from ads on the search result pages.

4. Experiment: whatever your work will be the AdSense quality is to change colour,

placement and size of your ads and put according to your requirement.

5. Track your successes- and have more: in this if you learn one to use it will be very

beneficial for us and to earn revenue.

on your site. No one knows your site like you do, so we hand the editorial over to

you. You can choose to block ads based on type. Or on the specific rules. They

point to.

why we occasionally provide optimisation tips for your specific site. When we

detect an improvement you could make, you will see a message in your ad sense

account. We should always give these suggestions a try and don’t be scared to

would you ask them? What would you like them to talk about or tell their friends

about? Give yourself a social media presence with a Google page. Not only will it

idea to regularly check the policies you agreed to when you set up your account.

Avoid implementations that may lead to accidental clicks

How companies use Google AdSense for business:-

People are constantly looking for ways to make money from their websites or blogs. AdSense

is a simple solution, only when if the website is frequently visited. AdSense is Google’s

method to provide companies venues for advertisements. A website own fills a Google

AdSense banner, and Google automatically fill those banners with ads from customer.

It is free and easy:-

Google AdSense is completely free to join and banners to website. You need to

follow the four steps on the Google AdSense “Getting started with AdSense ” page-

read program policy then select the product then design get and paste code—and you

are all set to begin using AdSense. Some websites, like Blogger, make it easier by

including graphical versions of the code you add to the design of the web page.

The only reason to include an ad on your website is to get some sort of benefits.

Google pay money each time someone clicks on an ad or views an ad that was on

your website. The amount you earn will depend on how popular your site is and how

much money advertisers are willing to pay for your type of content.

Ads are Targeted: When you add banners from other companies, you are often get the

same annoying ad, which may eventually become unwanted to your website’s target

audience. Google has resolved by generating ads based on the content of your

website. It scans website for keywords and determines what ads match with your

website. Companies may also specify website as a good match for their ads.

Ads are unobtrusive: AdSense ads are not like those 1990s flashing banner. Google

recognizes your viewers are visiting your website to read the content, it has attempted

to make ads that are obvious that do not distract from website. The ads are usually

small boxes placed on website based on preferences. Someone can also customize

their ad colours and choose from multiple ad formats so the ads match the design of

website, and stand out more if that is your goal.

How to do ads:-

Choose a profitable niche: However, in addition to sheer volume, there is one more

very important consideration- what site is about and to put is more professionally,

which niche the site is in. Different niches aren’t equal- there are more and less

profitable ones. There are niches like health, finance where high number clicks are

common and niches, such as culture or history, where can make almost nothing with

AdSense. This is why you need to choose a niche where clicks pay well. It is true that

good niches are competitive.

Place the ads in visible place: Strategic placement of the ad units is vital for profits.

Quite logically ads are placed where they are visible and increase the number of clicks

you will get. The best places are above the fold (i.e. in the top half of the page) and in

the text. The closer the ads to the text are better. You can have a look at these

AdSense placement tips from Google to see which places are considered good pr best

or worst for ad placement.

Optimize the ads for higher CTR: Strategic placement is important but there are other

aspects need to take into account when you optimize your pages for high CTR (click

through Rate).

Page 8: Full doc. copy

Some more tips how to fine-tune for ads:-

Choose the right ad size: AdSense offer numerous sizes in the form of rectangles,

squares or buttons or bars but the truth is that only few of them covert very well.

Choose multiple ad units: You are allowed to run up to 3 ad units and 3 link units and

2 search boxes per page. This means for the ad units and the link units you need to

choose multiple units but preferably in different sizes.

Drive traffic to your site: Finally, one really important prerequisite for making

money with AdSense is traffic. Someone might have an incredibly high CTR but

if you don’t manage to drive traffic to your site, you won’t be making money. The

most important free traffic source are search engine engines. Traffic from search

engines are targeted and as a rule it converts well. Site offers quite a lot of

resources about how to make your site rank well with search engines that take the

time to browse it and get familiar with SEO.

Companies name are:-

Facebook ads: Facebook can give advertisers unbelievably powerful tools by making its

aggregate social data available for ads. Advertiser can create ads that targeting people who:

Have visited snowboard that related to the sites in the last two weeks

Have snowboarding mentioned in the profile

Have interacted with snowboard related status updates/images/pages in the last X

days

You could create different ads for young and old, men and women and people having lots of

connections and those having only a few. Some of these options are already available when

advertising on Facebook but using that information to advertise on other sites will add a lot of

value.

But this is just the beginning. All the information available new possibilities are going to

emerge. And in the end people will get ads that match their interests. By giving feedback on

demographic data to advertisers and publishers Facebook can help to increase the similarity

of the ads. This will make the program more attractive to publishers and advertisers. In the

end this’ll reduce the noise level of irrelevant advertising messages that you can see on the

websites.

How to get better mileage with Google AdSense

Generating traffic is one of the important factors involved in the internet website business.

Whether someone owns a huge commercial product/services oriented website that is designed

for marketing or just a small online blog based on a miscellaneous topics and web traffic is

necessary in order to get visitors to the site so that the ultimate goal is achieved. Bringing

traffic to website is one of the important requisite as creating the site. Apart from increasing

the popularity of the site, web trick normally ignored by search traffic is an important tool

which determines the business potential if you have enrolled into online affiliated programs

like Google AdSense. Many people don’t know how to bring visitors to read their websites

even they are having websites with quality content. Websites that have unique and quality

content will get more traffic as compared to inferior sites which normally ignored by search

engines. Most people prefer to access websites through search engines like Google and

Yahoo and social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumbleupon etc. Given below are the various

ways through which you can increase traffic to your site.

Blogs/other websites:

You can bring traffic to your site by sharing information about your site or submitting your

website links in other websites and online communities like Blogs. According to that way lots

of people may get to know about your site.

Friends/ Relatives:

If you want to popularize your website, your friends can help you better. So, if you are going

to publish a website, email your friends/relatives who would serve as initial traffic generators.

Favourite chat rooms/forums:

Chat rooms and forums can be a wonderful place for marketing your site since these serve as

meeting point for a wide range of online communities.

Search engines:

Search engines are the perhaps the best way to attract visitors because these provide never-

ending traffic to your site. Major search engines generate traffic to various websites around

the world. Even if your site is extraordinary good, there is no need to submit it to search

engines since search engines will automatically track and pick up quality sites. Social

bookmarking sites:

Social Bookmarking is an online web tool through which one can share their favorite articles,

website links, photos or videos with the rest of the world. Social bookmarking sites have

became very popular over the past few years because many people around the world prefer to

use bookmarking sites to search for their interesting topics or news, rather than use search

engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Specialists carefully monitor clicks and impressions

on Google ads, using automated systems as well as human reviews, in order to protect the

interests and those of our advertisers. This is done because they can protect our advertisers

from artificially inflated costs. Here are some ways that can help and ensure that the sites

provide the highest quality traffic possible.

Don’t try to click your own Google ads

Inspiring users to click on your Google ads is strictly prohibited whether directly or

indirectly, on their own site or on third-party sites or via email.

Users should do click on Google ads because they’re interested in the services

being advertise, not to earn money for the site or for a cause, and to generate some

sort of reward for themselves.

Page 10: Full doc. copy

Choose the location.

Publishers should never use tricks or deceptive practices in order to trigger

accidental clicks in ads. Make sure that your ads are well-placed, away from

interactive elements, do not intimate the surrounding content and are not placed

under misleading headings

Maintain adequate space between the ads. For example, on site with games,

try to not to place ads too close to the game controls. Minimum distance is

generally recommended between the flash player and the ads.

Please don’t place content ads on interstitial pages, games interfaces, or

sites with staring videos. If you’d like to earn from your video or game

interface by overlaying, in stream or interstitial placements, please check

out AdSense for videos and AdSense for games.

Google AdSense Video Ads:

Video ads are one type of ad that can appear on AdSense sites. They can show on your pages

if you have chosen to display ads and are a using supported ad size. Advertisers can purchase

video inventory based on clicks or impressions. Publishes see how video ads perform across

their video inventory on an RPM basis.

Here’s how they work:

The ad first appears as a static opening image. When a user sees the image ,we count

this as an ad impression

The video will play if the user clicks the image or play button.

If the user clicks the display URL or clicks the ad while it’s playing, he’ll be taken to

the advertiser’s website. We count this as a click in your reports.

Users can control the volume and can replay the video if they choose, the video won’t

automatically reply.

HOW DO I ENABLE MY PAGES TO SHOW VIDEO ADS?

To enable video ads to appear on your pages, you have to do two things:

1. Use one of our supported video ad formats

2. Set your ad unit to display test and image ads, or image ads only. We recommend

choosing both text and image ads to optimize ad variety and venue.

WHAT AD SIZES CAN DISPLAY VIDEO ADS?

Video ads to available in follow supported sizes:

Lead board (728 x 90)

Skyscraper(120 x 600)

Wide skyscraper (10 x 600)

Small square (200 x 200)

Square (250 x 250)

Large rectangle (336 x 280)

Rectangle (300 x 250)

HOW VIDEO ADS GET TARGETED?

Video ads are targeted in the same way that text and image ads are targeted to your pages –

contextually or through placement targeting.

Page 11: Full doc. copy

HOW WILL I EARN FROM VIDEO ADS?

Your earnings from video ads will depend on the pricing of the specific video ads you

display. Video ads can be either cost per click or cost per thousand impressions. When paid

on a CPC basis, you’ll receive earnings for each valid click through on ad—that is a click on

the display URL or playing video that directs a user to the advertiser’s website. When paid on

CPM basis, you’ll be paid for impressions of the opening image, rather than plays of the

video.

WILL EARN MORE WITH VIDEO ADS?

As with text and image ads, we can’t make any guarantees about the amount you’ll earn from

these video ads. However, displaying video ads along with text and image ads on your site

should lead to greater potential revenue for you. When you increase competition for your ad

space and drive your earnings up.

Keep in mind that our system is optimized to display whichever ad or ads will generate the

most revenue for you at all times. When we show a video ad on your site ,it’s because we’ve

determined that it represents a higher value to you than the corresponding text or image ads

that might otherwise run in that same ad space.

VIDEO AD PERFORMANCE IS REPORTED AS FOLLOWS:

CLICKS: we report a click when user clicks on the display URL or on the video while

its playing .we don’t report click when a user merely clicks the play button or the

opening image in order to initiate playing the videos.

IMPERSSIONS: we record an impression each time the opening image is displayed

on your site.

CLICK THROUGH RATE

RPM.

At this time, we don’t offer reports for the number of plays your video receives.

CASE STUDY 1: 19-Year-Old Lost $46,000 Because Google Says He Didn’t Follow

Their Rules

Idris Sami is a 19-year-old French-Moroccan entrepreneur who set-up a website that

lets people text their friends for free. Don’t have a phone, or want to avoid mobile

data charges? No problem! MesTextos lets French-speakers text their friends from the

website. MesTextos isn’t going to threaten Whatsapp anytime soon, but in Europe and

the Middle East, where data charges can be expensive, free texting is a nice little

niche to occupy.

And until the beginning of this year MesTextos.com was doing very well indeed.

Sami was running Google’s AdSense advertising system on his site. It allows website

publishers to display search ads powered by Google, and thereby take a cut of the

revenues.

By December 2013 so many people were clicking on MesTextos ads that Sami’s

Google account hit $46,000.

But then he learned that if you are an AdSense partner and you don’t run ads on your

site exactly the way Google wants, the search giant will penalize you.

Banned by Google

Google cancelled his account and returned all the money he had earned to his

advertisers.

He is banned from Google’s ad programs until further notice.

Sami is furious about the money he earned and then lost. Although this is an extreme

example-a huge portion of Google’s client base consists of individual publishers

Page 13: Full doc. copy

making only a few hundred dollars a month-it does typify one of the frustrations

Google’s own clients have dealing with Google.

Google is currently being sued in the U.S. over allegations that it suddenly and

without explanations withholds ad money from website publishers once their sites

become successful. And the company is the subject of an infamous, and obviously

fake, conspiracy theory that any publisher who makes $5,000 or more per month is

banned from the system right before their cheques are paid. (The theory has a giant

hole in it-Google only collects revenues when it delivers those ads, so banning

successful sites would actually make Google poorer.)

Emails from Google praised the site

In an email Google sent Sami, Google claims MesTextos was incentivizing or forcing

people to click on ads in order to use the site, which is against the rules; Sami denies

that. He says two different Google sales staff praised his revenue-generating efforts

and, in separate emails, offered to help optimize his site to improve its performance.

He says he wasn’t warned there was something wrong with his site until it was too

late.

Page 14: Full doc. copy

Google declined to comment on Sami specifically but a spokesperson told Business

Insider:

…..we always send a note to the publisher explaining which policy was

in question and, in many cases, give them a chance to make changes to their pages

to keep the account in good standing. Publishers are also given an opportunity to

appeal policy decisions.

Google: “This is great.”

...and wanted to help him make more money just before cutting him off.

The issue is further complicated because, Sami says, Google’s ads rules in French are

slightly different from the ones published in English. The ban feels galling to Sami

because it came on Jan. 28, 2014, just 13 days after he received an email from Google

offering to help him boost his revenues. “I later spoke again with the Team and was

told everything was good,” Sami tells Business Insider.

Google’s sales staff and its AdSense compliance people don’t necessarily coordinate,

of course.

Sami first received an email from Google’s salesperson on Jan.1, 2013, offering to

help him boost his revenue. It came from a staffer at Google in Dublin who praised

MesTextos, “I saw that …recent changes that had a positive impact on the Click-

Through Rate and hence improved your AdSense revenue. This is great. Can you

share with me by email what changes did you do so that I can build an accurate

optimization tips report for you?”

The next email, on Jan.15, 2014, was in French, and looks like a form letter generated

for clients who achieve certain revenue goals.

Page 15: Full doc. copy

“Nous avons desactive votre compte Google AdSense”

But by then it was too late.

And then Sami was banned from the system.

On Jan 28, he received a third email, also in French: “Nous avons desactive votre

compte Google AdSense …Votre compte etant definitivement desactive, nous allons

bloquer le paiement du solde correspondant.” (We have deactivated your Google

AdSense account …your account block is final, we have blocked payment on your

corresponding balance.”)

Sami says he begged and pleaded with Google, but he cannot figure out what Google

thinks is wrong with his site.

On the one hand it’s a straightforward case: Google publishes its rules, and Sami

allegedly broke them. But, as we’ve noted before, Google has a PR problem here:

AdSense can be complicated. The basic rules are 2,500 words long. It’s a fairly non-

transparent company, and it does not break down where its ad revenue comes from in

any detail. And because it is so massive, and so many companies in the outline ad

ecosystem are entirely dependent on it, Google becomes a ripe target for rumours and

complaints.

Google is also constrained in explaining publicly how it detects bad behaviour and

click fraud on the web because doing so would help those creating the fraud.

Publishers may not even know that their sites are being used as pivot points for fake

traffic.

That’s not much comfort to Sami. He says he is working with a lawyer to demand

from Google for the money he believes he earned.

CASE STUDY 2: The Fundamental Impact of AdSense on Businessballs.com

In 1995, Alan Chapman, owner of Businessballs.com, started an experimental online

collection of learning resources hosted on an ISP sub-domain. In 1999, this content was

migrated to Businessballs.com. The website’s objective is to help students, teachers,

managers and leaders by providing free educational materials, ideas and inspiration. Today,

Businessballs.com has approximately one million unique visitors a month.

When Businessballs.com introduced AdSense in 2007, Alan found the process surprisingly

straight-forward: “Implementation was much easier than I anticipated, which-given my

technical limitations-was a major advantage.”

AdSense immediately had a fundamental impact on Businessballs.com. The website became

self-financing.

“Before AdSense, Businessballs required funding from my other activities, and was naturally

quite a drain,” said Alan. “Within two months of AdSense implementation the website was

generating sufficient cashflow to pay its own way. Also, very significantly, managing the

AdSense revenue stream requires little time and resource, whereas monetizing any business

normally entails additional overheads and staffing, etc. AdSense required none, which-for a

very lean business like Businessballs-was and will remain pivotal.”

Page 17: Full doc. copy

AdSense ads add value to the content

When first considering AdSense, Alan was concerned that the ads might undermine the site’s

reputation, but these fears have proven to be unfounded: “Whenever I look at the AdSense

ads on my pages they always seem to be relevant.”

In fact, targeted ads can often add value to the content. Alan explains why: “In my experience

AdSense ads are extremely well targeted. The styling is excellent too, so as not to invade or

irritate like so much web advertising is prone to do. AdSense is ideal for my website, which

seeks to put content first. Good content produces good traffic. The more traffic, the better are

the earnings. Build your content and value for the users, and revenue will respond. That’s

what seems to work for Businessballs.”

CASE STUDY 3: Smulweb Earns with Google AdSense

Smulweb/Younity Media is growing and changing every day

Irene is working for the marketing team of Younity Media Websites, a Baarn-based internet

company comprised of 13 employees working in different disciplines such as marketing,

development and design. Since 1998, Younity Media has owned Smulweb.nl and has

invested resources into developing it further. Younity Media owns and hosts several

community-oriented websites. The most important ones are: www.smulweb.nl ,

www.reisweb.nl, www.vrouwzijn.nl, www.plein.nl, www.allepaginas.nl .

The biggest and most important online community is Smulweb.nl, the biggest culinary

website in the Benelux region. Smulweb has over 400,000 members and generates over 1.5

million unique visitors per month. Not only can Smulweb users find over 18,000 restaurants

and more than 343,000 recipes, they can also contribute to the content by submitting their

own recipes and by adding restaurant reviews. You can even order all sorts of food and

kitchen items via its online store. Users can also use the forum section to share their culinary

experience. Smulweb relaunched in 2007 and is continuously developing its content.

Intelligent Ad Targeting

AdSense offers the most relevant and targeted ads on the web, as a result of its large

inventory of Adwords ads and its geo-targeting feature, which targets ads to the user’s

location. Smulweb is impressed with the “intelligence” of Google AdSense’s ad targeting.

Satisfied Smulweb

Smulweb is very satisfied with its AdSense revenue, and is continually optimizing its ad

placements to grow even further. Compared to other networks AdSense performs favourably

because ‘There is almost endless supply of campaigns and they can appear in any form such

as links, text, image, and in any size. Ads compete in an auction to appear on your site and

we display the ads that will perform best for you.

Reliable advanced reporting helps Smulweb track its AdSense revenue. Irene says that

Smulweb finds URL and custom channels very useful as you can view separate performance

reports for each URL and each ad placement. Publishers can then use these reports to identify

which URLs and which ad placements are performing best and where there is scope to

improve their revenue potential.

“AdSense will continue to play a role on our website because it has proven to be

beneficial.”
