Business Challenge

Today, more than ever, CEO, business owners understand that ERP systems can enable their company to process transactions more efficiently and effectively. ERP project management modules allow integrating and managing the assets and processes of the business across all departments. As a result, business increases ROI of the projects, cuts costs and improves the efficiency of the processes.

To improve project management operations and assess the financial flows, our client asked to develop and integrate project management modules to the existing ERP system. The project module should enable users to create and manage tasks on all stages and within the timeframe of the main project. The system should allow users to create, divide and modify daily tasks, client tickets, projects, team members and reports, filter data, export reports and view the history of the tasks. Moreover, the client required to develop a financial ERP module that should allow scheduling and managing the budget of the company. Significant instant was that our client had its own development team, and wanted to customize the existing ERP software with the help of XB Software team.

XB Software developers designed and integrated custom ERP software into the client’s project system. The system includes two separate modules - one for managing project tasks and the other one for budgeting. Our team created several types of users - managers and employees - with different access permissions.

The project management module allows users to create, edit, update, divide and set the time for the tasks. Every task is attached to an employee, object (a car or equipment), or event and these interactions can be visualized. The project status can be easily monitored via this system, and effective measures can be taken at required points. The time spent by each team member in each task could also be analyzed which provides a valuable insight for the project cost analysis.

The financial module allows users to: - establish a budget - assign the allocated budget to the event or task - set the type of budget allocation (for people, education, company, sub-contractors and more) - see capacity and workload of projects - add, edit, delete the task with a budget - view the bottom-line price (internal/external)

To create the project management module, we used dhtmlxScheduler web calendar control that allowed our team to develop a feature-reach and highly-customizable ERP solution.

For the financial module XB Software developers used an interactive JavaScript/HTML5 Gantt Chart.
