  4‐H PROJECT WORKSHOP DAY SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

Bread Baking 101 ‐ Session 1 Learn all about the different types of bread you can make using yeast.  From your basic white bread to fancy sweet breads. Baking is a science, you need to follow the recipe but I will share my  ps and tricks.  Chalk Drawing ‐ Session 3 Experiment with color and chalk in this class. Be prepared for making a mess as you learn some of the basics of color blending.  Ci zenship ‐ Session 1 Learn about Wright County history by learning how to create a museum display.  Choose a real historical item from their collec on and apply cri cal thinking and teamwork while learning what its like to work in a museum.  Drawing ‐ Session 1 In this class, learn how to draw eyes including pupils, eyelashes, eyebrows, and other techniques to complete our drawing of a human eye.  Electricity ‐ Session 2 Learn how electricity works and experiment with designing your own circuit  Gardening ‐ Session 1 (Grades 3‐5, Session 2 (Grades 6‐8) Hardy and colorful succulents have become amazingly popular recently.  Once you know the basics, they are easy to grow! Par cipants in this workshop will learn what a succulent is, plant a small succulent garden and learn how to care and maintain their garden.  Max 15 par cipants.   Geology ‐ Session 3 Learn how to I.D. rocks, using crystal size and color.  Learn how different rocks are formed and how to make an exhibit for the fair.   Horseless Horse ‐ Session 3 Learn about horses & their daily care. Learn about feeding, grooming and basic safety rules around horses. A great experience for 4‐Hers of all ages and you do not need to own a horse to a end this workshop!    

Jewelry Making ‐ Session 2 & 3 A basic introduc on to jewelry making methods, tools and supplies.  Par cipants will create a necklace while learning by doing. Max 5  Melted Crayon Art ‐ Session 3 In this workshop, you will learn how to combine crayons and heat to make a beau ful work of art.   Origami ‐ Session 1 Learn the tradi onal Japanese art or technique of folding paper into a variety of decora ve forms  Photography ‐ Session 2 Learn the Basics.  What makes a good photograph? How can you improve your photography skills? A end this workshop to learn more. Par cipants need to bring their own camera, not a cell phone camera.  Pollinators ‐ Session 3 Everyone is talking about the importance of bees and pollinators, but do you know how pollinators impact the food you eat every day? Find out through this workshop and make milkweed ‘bombs’ designed to provide food for early pollinators this spring.  Quilling ‐ Session 1 Learn how to quill.  Quilling is the art of using rolled paper to create a design.  The designs can be added to artwork, made into jewelry, used as ornaments, and many other places.  All materials will be provided.  Scrapbooking ‐ Session 2 Are you interested in learning how to create a scrapbook or how to get started?  A end this workshop and learn to back photos, design page layouts, and compile a book.  Slime‐o‐Rama! ‐ Session 2 Loved by Kids, Feared by Parents.  Have you ever wanted to make slime, but don’t know how or can’t get the recipe right? Learn how to make a homemade batch of gooey fun.  Get  ps for how to avoid the messes that make most parents cringe! Limit: 20
