Key Technological Challenges - FTF

materials and components:

• Heat flux

• Neutron flux

• Magnetic fields

• Vacuum

Therefore materials need:

• High thermal conductivity

• High strength/ductility at high temperature

• Resistance to irradiation induced swelling

• High irradiation fracture toughness

• Good manufacturability and formability

• Low levels of activation
