Key Technological Challenges - FTF
Very challenging loads on
materials and components:
• Temperature
• Heat flux
• Neutron flux
• Magnetic fields
• Vacuum
Therefore materials need:
• High thermal conductivity
• High strength/ductility at high temperature
• Resistance to irradiation induced swelling
• High irradiation fracture toughness
• Good manufacturability and formability
• Low levels of activation

Supplier Opportunities – winning work in Fusion
Footer11
• We can help you bid in the fusion market
• We can partner or collaborate against specific opportunities arising from fusion or other industry, for example, in helping to win iTER contracts
• We can offer Fusion Technical Consultancy services, or support you in a scientific or technical capacity
• We can offer training in specialist areas, for example in novel materials testing techniques
• We can collaborative where there is potential for cross-over technology to be applied to fusion from other industries
We are here to enable industry.
