– Teachers must understand, and have the opportunity to learn and practice information technology if they are to be effective and successful in promoting student achievement.
• Educational Responses– Establish professional learning communities to support teachers’ use of

training, as well as the quality of higher education.

• Challenges– Separate education initiatives tend to be piecemeal, short-term and less
ff tieffective– Forming partnerships with informal educators (in museums, libraries,
etc) as well as with businesses. – Creating opportunities for students to collaborate across regions and
cultures
• Educational Responses– Leverage resources wisely – Leverage resources wisely. – Build a regional clearinghouse of best practices in education– Establish norms for cross-sector collaboration– Agree on common indicators to measure progress
