APEC member economies are most interested in the cooperative or collaborative work with other members, such as ‘Pre-and in-service teacher training on using ICT in education.’ The member economies also showed their interests in ‘Developing standards and evaluation system of ICT utilization skills for the education system.’

Most economies have experienced similar issues or difficulties while implementing policies of ICT use in education. However, the results suggest APEC member economies should work cooperatively. By sharing experiences and working together, APEC members can reduce time, funds, and energies due to the trial-and-errors, which might be occurred through each economy’s independent efforts.

Discussant Reaction: USASurvey was good and identified challenges we are facing Comments

• Infrastructure is a past issue but still struggling with establishing• Development of education contents and software

•(esp. Teachers don’t have knowledge, skills, or expertise to identify and integrate ICT for their instruction.

• Pre-service and in-service teacher training • Training programs should be provided continuously • Trainers should be available more.• Developing policy at the domestic level is important

but also at the state and district level • Issue of the gap – a safe and equitable access to such as smart phones• Funding issues• Young people have technological expertise

and we may be able to utilize their skills and knowledge• Collaboration for new coming tech.
