o Integrate with 30 mil high quality full color re-usable card– FREE (You
need only pay for the card; prices average from .50 to $1.2 depending on
artwork and design. You may use any vendor that you choose)
Digital Signage – from $7,000
o Software is integrated at no charge
Time and Attendance (Payroll) – additional module $1,000
o Software is integrated at no charge and will track employee punches,
tippable sales, overtime and export into all usable formats
Inventory – additional module $400
o Software is integrated at no charge and will track products on hand,
ingredients used to create menu items and the associated cost
Table Layout – additional module $400
o Software is integrated at no charge and provides a visual map of tables and
sections
Reservations – from $1,000/month
o Software is integrated at no charge and will allow reservations based on
seat availability or occupancy, for current or future
QuickBooks/Peachtree Interface (General Ledger and Payroll) – from
$400/Quarter
o Software is integrated at no charge and will allow sales, labor and
inventory to ‘flow’ directly into the desired general ledger application
Columned Modifiers – no one else has this technology
o Software is integrated at no charge and will allow users to view all item
choices on one screen, simplifying the ordering process and eliminating
the need for several ‘pop up’ screens
Customer written training per department - $5,000
o We are going to implement this for you at no charge. We will work with
each department in order to determine the exact scope of training in order
to pass this value on to future franchisees as well as document all
procedures. This will add value to the prospect of purchasing a franchise
to potential clients.
Crucial Elements when choosing a point of sale (POS) provider
Is the software all inclusive? Ensure that all the bells and whistles are
included in the final negotiated price.
Ask to see specific sales reports with explanations. If the reports seem to be
confusing on a demonstration, they will be even more so in a live scenario.
How easy is it to add an item, create a button, or to change a price?
How does tech support work? Most companies will include some for a brief
period of time after the install. If you have issues after do you have to be on a
prepaid contract for a simple phone call? Is support truly 24/7? Is support
defined by regular business hours or hospitality hours?
Is a Gift Card program included? Are transaction fees or processing fees
extra? Is a third party needed?
Is a Frequent Diner/Loyalty program included?
Is a reservations program included? This can be especially helpful not only
with full service restaurants but also with catering functions.
Are the menu screens truly 100% customizable? Is the database limited to a
flat file system that only allows certain changes to be made?
How do modifiers work? Does the system support multi columned modifiers?
This will insure speed and accuracy to minimize mistakes and reduce waste in
the kitchen.
Is there a digital signage module or customer display module included?
Is the system proprietary? Will the hardware support any other software or are you ‘stuck’ with one option?
Is the system server driven? If the server goes down, does it render the workstations useless?
Is the system flash based (no hard drive)? Flash based systems are sold as ‘fan less’ but offer very limited memory. They do not have the ability to offer frequent diner or customer loyalty plans, gift cards, or a general ledger (QuickBooks) interface. Also, they lack the capacity to store historical totals beyond a few weeks before that information is lost.
Does the company have an exclusive relationship with a credit card processor? Many have relationships with companies that charge higher for credit card processing under the guise of improved customer service.
