PURPOSE
To provide learners working at A.F. Blakemore with the leadership and management knowledge and
skills required to progress in their career.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Ideal for professionals taking their first step into line management, or those with some experience of
managing a team or project. Applicants must have already gained a minimum of 12 months
experience working within A. F Blakemore & Son to apply for this programme, and ideally have
attended a Leading the Blakemore Way Programme.
Please note that those applicants working within Blakemore Retail must currently be working in a
field management or store management position and have direct reports. Blakemore Retail intend
to use the ILM Level 3 Apprenticeship as the next stage in the evolution of its successful Future
Leaders Programme and aims to recruit six to eight candidates from across its operation onto this
scheme.

HOW IS THIS AN APPRENTICESHIP?
This qualification provides full coverage of the ‘on programme’ element of the Management
Apprenticeship Standard including ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Your first step towards the ILM Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme is to complete this application
form. The responses you give will provide us with key information about you and your suitability for
this programme. All applicants must receive the support of their line manager before applying for
this programme. Applicants will be expected to complete nine modules, which will involve attending
18 classroom sessions in the West Midlands. There will be an element of written assessments,
professional discussions, online multiple choice questions and a business presentation that you will
be asked to complete. The programme will run over a period of 18 months, commencing in the New
Year 2019.
Please send completed application forms to the address below by November 30th 2018. If there any
issues in completing the application form before then, please contact the A.F. Blakemore Learning
and Development Department as soon as possible.
Once you have submitted your application you will be contacted via email or telephone by
December 14th 2018, whether you have been shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process.
Please note that if you are not successful at this stage, The Learning and Development Department
are happy to provide feedback upon request.
If you are successful, you may be invited to an Assessment Day on 10th January 2019.

Please note that during the programme delegates will be expected to attend all sessions during their working
hours. Any written work can either be completed in working hours or during their own time, however this
must be negotiated between the applicant and their line manager prior to the application submission. It is
important that line manager’s support successful candidates during this programme in this matter.
Successful applicants will also be visited at work by a member of the ILM accredited team as part of their
qualification.
