Fix the RF Bandwidth (Coax will last for ever..)Expension to 1,2GHz•Network Modernization needed: Amplifier2.0, splitters, power distributing splitters, power insertors, taps, wall outlets, CM/STB/dTV, FM convertor•Network Maximum Enhancement: from 1Gbps to 8 Gbps DS,

However the RF Spectrum Expension has its full effect only –as for the data bandwidth expension- when RF DS path allows 4KQAM or higher Modulation Orders to be distributed. DCA provides just that, as for the centralized solution using analogue optical links, it is unlikely since the noise contribution of the inhouse networks is outside the Span of Control of the MSO: 41dB MER is not likely to be met.

MER = 47,6 dB

MER = 47.6 dB MER = 40.9 dB

Fix the Noise of the HFC (Fiber Deep(er))

•No need for node splits anymore on D3.0, and then D3.1 is also available•DCA enters the COAX part with 7-8 dB higher MER then Centralized: inhouse noise contribution is then of less influence. •This is also valid for US, so US HMO can be applied.

1. Coax cable still have a huge potential capacity which haven’t been used.

• DOCSIS technology upgrade to a new generation every 5-6 years;• The next generation DOCSIS(maybe 4.0) will start from about 2020, and extending the workable spectrum will happen most probably.

2. Further investment for now is simply not necessary to keep the revenue flowing.

Keep the coax plant the same without Fiber deeper, extend spectrum to 3 or 6GHz; Truck cable work on wider spectrum including multiple individual band than drop cable; No need to change of the components of drop cable;

Move the Fiber to the last amplifier and make the coax plant to be passive; A short coax cable length can be easier to support 3GHz which could offer more than at least 20Gbps bandwidth;

WHY

WHAT IF: 1. Super Trunk for multiple SG WHAT IF: 2. Fiber deeper

Food for thought..what if?
