    Clear success factors for

    the development ofBiotechnology in Galicia

In Galicia, the foundationshave been laid for the

Biotechnology sector to find allit needs to develop andexpand in our region. Themost important of these

    factors include:

    The availability of

sufficient critical mass interms of biotechnology

    business projects

    The availability of human

    capital

    The availability of special

conditions and spaces insuitably designed Business

    Parks

    Proof of this major support

    from Galicia towards the

Biotechnology sector is theparticipation of the GalicianInsti tute for Economic

Promotion (IGAPE) in BIO2006 and 2007, held in

    C h i c a g o a n d B o s t o nrespectively.

Also, the Spanish Ministry forIndustry and the GalicianInstitute for Economic

Promotion (IGAPE) channel aseries of attractive incentives

    through special programmes

such as the Ferrol Plan, giving

investors access to non-refundable grants of up to

    30% and 15-year loans at 0%interest.

This has helped to makeGalicia an ideal destination for

investors seeking a location inline with the requirements of
