Step through now to the right and discover your perfect family sitting room, cosy and homely, with an air of grandness courtesy of its imposing Georgian windows.

This room is light and spacious due to the light which pours in on two sides, an unusual feature for a cottage of this antiquity. The second of two receptions rooms, this cheerful chamber has space for a desk at the back, so why not use it as your work-from-home office? The village shop is on hand for all your essentials while local shopping is also available in nearby Marton, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge. Of course, you are handily situated for easy access to Harrogate or York if you prefer.

A local loop will take you through Upper Dunsforth, where a diverse range of wildlife inhabits the wet meadows and woodlands. For an afternoon’s armchair entertainment, enjoy watching the events pass by on the cycle route in front of the house.

For local food and drink, why not take a trip to The Punch Bowl at Marton cum Grafton? Their philosophy is to showcase the very best of local produce, including slow roasted Dales lamb shoulder with broad beans and wild garlic pesto.
