    24th Summer Meeting for Music, Theatre and Dance Seminars

    Wind Orchestra of Kalamaria Theatrical Seminar by George Biniaris,Smaro Grigoriadou and Margarita Mantaka. The Echoes Theatre Companypresented Sophocles major play Antigone in original ancient Greek text,with respect to the musical design the poet conceived. All main characters(Antigone, her sister Ismene, king Kreon, his son Aemon, soothsayer Teire-sias) as well as Chorus (consisted by distinguished elderly Lords of Thebes),were interpreted by two performers on stage (one actor and one musician),who explored their full physical potential in order to achieve necessary dif-

    ferentiations of roles. Additionally, choral songs were executed according tothe original metrical-rhythmical sets of verses designed thoroughly by Sopho-cles himself.
