Your polling location is listed on your sample ballot. You can also find your "Polling Place and Sample Ballot Lookup" online at this link . There are many important issues on the ballot including the four proposed Charter Amendments. The City Manger has prepared an impartial analysis, available at this link , to describe the practical effects of the proposed Charter Amendments. This information does not advocate a yes or no vote on the measures. Long Beach Transit will be offering free bus and Dial-A-Lift rides on Tuesday. Due to the Election, the Nov. 6th City Council Meeting has been cancelled. Past Events 23rd Annual Historical Cemetery Tour

Last Saturday, the Historical Society of Long Beach hosted their 23rd Annual HistoricalCemetery Tour at Sunnyside Cemetery. Graveside performances ran all day with actors

who brought local history to life as told by the colorful characters who lived it! Thanks toHSLB for inviting me to speak at my Grandparents' grave site again this year. Also thanksto the work crews for responding so quickly to our request and removing the fallen treebefore Saturday's event.

CD4 Community Meeting

Tuesday evening, we hosted our monthly community meeting at the Los Altos Library. Ourguest speaker, CSULB President Jane Close Conoley, discussed the plans for the newCSULB Alumni Center. The building is currently proposed to be located near the northwestcorner of the Pyramid. It will be a single story 7,000 sq/ft building that will used for futureCSULB Alumni events. Thank you President Conoley for discussing this project with theneighbors and we look forward to hearing more updates.

All 12 Long Beach Public Libraries are currently open Tuesday -Saturday. Four branches are open a 6th day, on Sundays, from12-4 pm, which are planned to end December 31, 2018. Pleasetake a moment to complete a brief survey regarding yourpreference for five-day open library hours beginning Jan. 2019.Each week, our newsletter lists all the Friday & Saturdayprogramming that takes place at the two CD4 libraries, Los Altosand Brewitt. Switching to a Sunday-Thursday schedule at eitherbranch would impact existing programming.

In this exhibit, the artists have examinedthe multiple eclectic environments throughout Long Beach and have taken the time to bestexpress the theme, ranging from the natural environments, city places, and a nostalgic lookto the past of this great city. The exhibit is at the Long Beach Playhouse from November3rd to December 29th. The opening reception will be held November 3rd from 1 pm to 4pm.

Live fire training is an essential part of development for the Recruit Firefighters. And FinallyFourth District Athletes Receive Major Awards Congratulations to the 4th District's Misty May-Treanor and Sarah Maher for receivingmajor awards in volleyball and soccer. On Sunday, Nov. 4, the Association of VolleyballProfessionals' non-profit AVPFirst will induct Misty May-Treanor into its Wall ofChampions for her lifetime contributions to beach volleyball. You can read about Misty'slatest award at this link. Also on Sunday, Sarah Maher and the CSULB Womens Soccerteam will play UC Santa Barbara for the conference championship.
