Cutting InstructionsWOF = width of fabric LOF = length of fabric

Fabric A, cut:(3) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (19) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabric B, cut:(3) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (21) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabric C, cut:(2) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (15) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabrics D, E, F, G, I, K, and L, cut:(2) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (16) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabric H, cut:(10) 2½” x WOF (6.35cm x WOF) for binding(2) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (16) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabric J, cut:(2) 8½” x WOF (21.59cm x WOF); sub-cut (17) 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm)

Fabric M, cut:(50) 2½” x WOF (6.35cm x WOF); sub-cut (800) 2½” x 2½” (6.35cm x 6.35cm)

Sewing InstructionsNote: All seam allowances are 1⁄4” (.64cm).

1. Using the stitch-and-flip method, place (1) Fabric M 2½” (6.35cm) square in the top left corner of (1) Fabric A 4½” x 8½” (11.43cm x 21.59cm) rectangle. Sew together diagonally from corner to corner as shown (Fig. 1).

Fig. 1Fig. 1

2. Place (1) Fabric M 2½” (6.35cm) square on the bottom right corner of the same Fabric A rectangle and sew together diagonally from corner to corner as shown (Fig. 2).

Fig. 2Fig. 2

3. Trim both sewn corners to a ¼” (.64cm) seam allowance. Flip corners open and press toward Fabric M (Fig. 3).

4. Repeat steps 1-3 using Fabric M 2½” (6.35cm) squares on the remaining corners of the Fabric A rectangle to finish the block (Fig. 4). Make a total of 200 blocks.

Fig. 4Fig. 4

Make 200.

Quilt Top Assembly5. Lay out the quilt blocks following the Quilt Layout,

noting the orientation. Beginning in the center, sew the long edges of (2) blocks together. Position the pair vertically, then sew (1) horizontal block to the top and another to the bottom. Then sew two blocks end to end for each side (Fig. 5).

Fig. 5Fig. 5

6. Working out from the center, continue joining and adding blocks in a concentric pattern until you reach the outer edge. The overall look of this quilt is scrappy, so place fabrics in any location you like.

Finishing7. Cut (2) Backing fabric rectangles, 88” x WOF

(223.52cm x WOF). Cut the remaining fabric length into (3) 8” x LOF rectangles. Sew the smaller rectangles end to end, noting the directional fabric print, and trim to 88” (223.52cm) long. Join the long edges of the (3) rectangles to make an 88” (223.52cm) square backing.

8. Layer the backing, batting, and quilt top; baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the batting and backing even with the quilt top.

9. Sew the Fabric H binding strips together end-to-end using diagonal seams to make one continuous piece. Fold the binding in half, wrong sides together, and press the length.

10. Sew the binding to the quilt top, mitering the corners. Turn the binding to the back of the quilt and hand-stitch in place.
