Each member of the Committee provided a brief introduction, as this is the second meeting of the year for the Drop-Out Prevention Committee. As with our last meeting, individuals contributed to the ideas and concepts that will set us forward with a purpose. After discussing the ideas generated from last meeting, it was clear that the Committee was in agreement with the statement: “Engaging, Supporting, and Advancing Every Student in MSAD 11: We are committed as a group to the development of a true multi-tiered system of support for all students in MSAD 11, from the time they enter Pre-K to when they graduate.” The professional read survey is complete as members of the Committee had voted on one of the four books suggested at our first meeting. The group also discussed the idea of our students requiring “grit” and watched a Ted Talk video as an introductory piece. The group concluded discussions by discussing the importance of student-relationships in making school both productive and safe.
