Transfer Fair Q&A

1. What if I don’t show up to the Transfer Job Fair at the Curtis Culwell Center?

Showing up to the Transfer Job Fair guarantees you a meeting with your selected campuses. You will not be

guaranteed a meeting if you do not attend the Job Fair at the Curtis Culwell Center on March 5th, 2019. It is

also not mandatory that teachers attend the Transfer Job Fair even if they completed an application.

2. Can a principal grant an interview at another time?

Principals can set up interviews with transfer applicants at their discretion as long as the applicant has

followed and met the Transfer Application timelines.

3. If there are no openings at my preferred campuses, should I choose them on my Transfer Application?

Yes, you can still choose them as one of your top 3 schools. You can still meet with the campus staff, in case

there are openings after the Transfer dates have passed. The transfer process is not connected to posted job

vacancies.

4. Can I meet with and/or transfer to a campus that is not listed in my Top 3 preferences on

my transfer application?

Yes, if the school/administration has availability.

5. What do I bring to my meeting(s)?

At minimum, bring copies of your resume to distribute.

6. If I was hired after October 1 and have a “Finish Year Only” contract, can I apply for a

transfer?

No. The Transfer process is only for individuals who have contracts for the following school year.

7. What if I am an elementary teacher and want to transfer to another campus, but I don’t have

E.S.L. certification?

You are not eligible for a transfer.

8. What if I am a middle or high school teacher and want to transfer to an elementary campus, but I

don’t have E.S.L. certification?

You are not eligible for a transfer.

9. If I am interested in a job that is not posted, should I fill out a Transfer application and/or participate in

the Transfer Fair at the CCC?

Attendance is not required; however, you can only be considered for a position if you have completed a

transfer application within the transfer application deadline.

10. Can I interview for positions other than my current position during the transfer process?

No. The transfer process is for campus lateral moves only: teacher to teacher, regardless of level

(elementary, middle, or high school). It is NOT for staff seeking a promotion, such as teacher to

counselor/librarian/assistant principal etc.

11. Who can I contact if I have more questions?
