ABOUT NAKAMURA SENSEI
Nakamura Sensei has been training in Goju Ryu Karate for over 25 years. He was a student in Okinawa Japan, the birthplace of karate. He received instruction from the karate master (An’ichi Miyagi Sensei) who is the direct student of the founder of Goju Ryu Karate – Chojun Miyagi Sensei. Nakamura sensei has won three World Championships – twice in kumite (sparring), and once in kata (forms). He was an Uchideshi (Special Disciple) and head-assistant instructor under Morio Higaonna Sensei (10th degree black belt, Chief Instructor of IOGKF) at the world headquartes in San Marcos, California !991-94) as well as at the Japanese headquarters in Tokyo (1995-1997). He moved to Canada in 1997, as a technical advisor for IOGKF Canada. At the 2012 World Budosai in Okinawa Japan, he was appointed as World Chief Instructor for the IOGKF. Nakamura Sensei travels internationally to teach karate seminars. He holds a law degree and teacher’s license for philosophy, politics, and economics from Kagawa University, Japan. He is currently a 7th degree black belt (7th Dan) in Goju Ryu Karate and a 2nd degree black belt (2nd Dan) in Judo.

I do hereby assume full responsibility for any and all damages, injuries or losses, I may sustain or incur, if any while attending or participating and hereby waive any and all claims against the directors of said Gasshuku: Tetsuji Nakamura, John Garwood, Randy Kopke, Sam Larioza, any and all directors, agents or employees of Ohana Karate individually, in full or otherwise for any claim of injuries that I may sustain. I also state that I have no medical problems including but not limited to heart conditions, epilepsy, hernias, etc. I fully understand that any medical treatment given to me will be of First Aid type only, and I fully waive all claims for injuries or damages that may result from such treatment, whether given with or without my express consent. I consent that any photographs or video recordings furnished by me or taken of me in connection with IOGKF Gasshuku can be used for any publicity, promotion, or television showing, and waive any compensation in regards hereto. Gasshuku Rules/ etiquette
• All participants must wear a clean white gi.
• Participants must be on time for training, please arrive at least 15 minutes
prior to the start of session.
• All students are expected to conduct themselves in the tradition of true
karate do with proper etiquette at all times.
• Participants may bring water bottles and a towel.
• Spectators must stay off of the training floor and be respectfully quiet
during the session.
• All junior students who attend must try to maintain a level of concentration
appropriate to the training.
• All participants with preexisting injuries must report them to the Sensei
running the session before the training begins.
