PROGRAMS

LA Promise Fund programs reach deep into our four network schools, and broad, across hundreds of thousands of students in LA County.

u programs include:

#ARTSMATTER

Research shows that arts-based education is correlated with increased academic performance, improvement of attendance, community engagement and lower dropout rates. Through #ArtsMatter, the LA Promise Fund works to create innovative programs designed to integrate arts education into all subject areas.

THE INTERN PROJECTThe Intern Project (TIP) provides deserving Los Angeles public high school juniors the chance to work in dynamic career areas through paid internships. Through TIP, students have worked in fields like digital media, entertainment, technology, health care, and design. These experiences can level the playing field for many students in Los Angeles. We empower student success; they change the trajectory of their careers.

SCHOOL FUELSchool Fuel ensures that all public school students in LA get a nutritious start to their day and the supplemental knowledge to develop healthy habits for life. To date, School Fuel has facilitated Breakfast in the Classroom, parent engagement, and nutrition education in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Moving forward, the LA Promise Fund is committed to exploring opportunities to expand the impact of the School Fuel program to public district and charter schools throughout LA County.

GO FOR COLLEGE

Go for College introduces students to an array of two- and four-year, public and private colleges and universities. From mandatory college trips for every 9th grader to financial aid education, Go for College creates a culture where college prep is the norm and every student has equal access to higher education.

PROMISE PARENT COLLEGEPromise Parent College invites all neighborhood parents and guardians to engage and learn about their roles, rights, and responsibilities as parents and caregivers. Classes are offered on a weekly basis and range from fitness and knitting to college applications and financial aid.

Each of LA Promise Fund’s programs reaches deserving students in underserved neighborhoods, and each of these students has the capacity to create change at home, at school, and in the community.
