GREATER CINCINNATI DECORATIVE ARTISTS AFFILIATED CHAPTER OF THE SOCIETY OF DECORATIVE PAINTERS STANDING RULES 1. Membership dues shall be $15 per year, due December 1 and delinquent January 1st. A late fee of $5 will apply. A copy of the member’s current Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) membership card must be submitted to the Second Vice President by March 1. 2. Regular meetings shall normally convene on the second Sunday of each month. 3. The financial records of this chapter shall be kept on a calendar basis, from January 1 through December 31. 4. A grant may be presented annually to the President for the purpose of attending the Chapters Gathering and the Annual Meeting at the Society’s Annual Conference. The amount of the grant will be determined by the Board of Directors (refer to current budget). If the President is unable to attend, the grant will be offered to officers next in line as follows: First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer The officer receiving this grant shall attend the Chapters Gathering, the Annual Meeting, and those functions which will benefit the chapter; and she shall provide a report to the chapter. No member shall receive this award more than twice during a ten-year period. 5. The President shall not chair any committee at the same time as serving on the Board of Directors. She may, however, serve on a committee. 6. Standing Committee Chairs shall normally be Newsletter, Publicity, Retreat Chair, Website, Service, and Ways and Means. 7. All active Members must fulfill the following requirements during the calendar year to be considered a Member in Good Standing. a) Hand paint and turn in six (6) Holiday ornaments or paint a raffle box by November meeting. b) Attend a minimum of two (2) meetings a year (the December holiday party is not considered a meeting). c) Perform or provide two (2) services from the following: 1) Sell or purchase a packet of Holiday Raffle tickets. 2) Serve on a GCDA committee. 3) Participate in a GCDA service project. 4) Provide refreshment for a meeting or a seminar. 5) Provide a raffle prize. 8. Only Members in Good Standing of GCDA – a) May hold a position on the Board of Directors (elected position). b) Will receive two (2) $15 vouchers for use as seminar class fees. c) Will receive a $15 credit for attending and taking classes at the GCDA Spring retreat. 9. These Standing Rules may be amended by a majority of the voters at any meeting wherein there is a quorum. Any changes so made in these Standing Rules are provisional.
