Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Newsletter

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organi-

zation (NGO) founded in 1990. It works in the field of mental health and human rights and

aims to deliver high quality mental health care to the Palestinian community of Gaza, through

the provision of psychological and social services, training and research services, GCMHP also

provides public awareness, and lobbying and advocacy for women, children and victims of

violence and human rights violations.

GCMHP and Dr. El Sarraj have been awarded several prestigious international awards in the

fields of mental health and human rights in recognition of the work done and progress made

over the past two decades.

The Programme has a strategic plan that is renewed every 3 years. It believes in the values

of transparency, accountability, social responsibility and good governance.

The Training and Scientific Research Department at the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme launched a Clinical Supervision training course for the Psychodrama group. The supervision took place at the 5th of January, 2014 by the German Trainers Dr. Ursula Hauser and

Dr. Maja Hess, who resumed their clinical supervision for the Psychodrama group at the Programme. In the supervision sessions, the group discussed their psychodrama experience and its effectiveness on the Palestinian Society for various target groups. See More..

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Honors Masters and Doctorates Graduates

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme held a cer-emony to honor the profes-sionals holding masters and doctorates degrees from 2009 to 2013.

At the beginning of the cer-emony, Dr. Samir Qouta – Sec-retary of the Board of Directors
