Locomotives & ServicesGE Transportation is a leader in the rail industry, providing freight and passenger locomotives as well as rail services to help solve the world’s toughest rail challenges. As a principal manufacturer of diesel-electric locomotives and industry-changing innovations such as the Evolution Series Tier 4 Locomotive, PowerHaul Series Locomotive and Nextfuel™ Natural Gas Retrofit Kits, we develop world-class locomotive models that serve regional transportation needs and create advanced rail technology that reduces operating costs, decreases fuel use and meets increasingly stringent emissions standards.

In 2014, GE Transportation was first to develop a locomotive that met the stringent U.S. EPA Tier 4 emission standard in North America, without requiring after-treatment systems. The Evolution Series Tier 4 Locomotive is powered by GE’s 12-cylinder EVO engine and more than 750 have been shipped to customers.

MiningGE’s Mining Solutions make mines better by increasing customer production and decreasing cost per ton throughout every step of the mining process, in the safest way possible. We engage the GE Store, offering products from all GE businesses to provide customers with end-to-end solutions for extraction, water infrastructure, mine electrification and digital mining.

Marine GE’s Marine Solutions is dedicated to power and propulsion systems for the workboat, merchant, offshore and naval industries. Coupling smart engineering with software analytics, we connect the physical and digital worlds to help power, propel, position and predict the marine industry for operational excellence.

For more than 40 years, GE has been a world leader in manufacturing medium-speed diesel engines. Our engines

meet the latest emission requirements for EPA Tier 3, Tier 4i and IMO Tier II and Tier III and are backed up by an extensive parts distribution and service network.

Stationary PowerGE Transportation sets the standard for dependable stationary power solutions. Our rugged design is optimized for fuel efficiency, and lower lifecycle costs and emissions. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of medium-speed diesel engines, our proven technology is also used for continuous and standby power in stationary gensets. These advanced diesel engines deliver a powerful, dependable and fuel-efficient power source, even in the world’s harshest conditions.

DrillOnshore or offshore, GE Transportation finds the resources to provide safe, reliable performance in the most challenging environments. We’ve been the leading manufacturer of electric motors for onshore and offshore applications for the oil and gas industry since 1955.
