Step 1. Pick an Audience
there is no such thing as ‘the general public’
you can’t design for everyone- if your audience is you, that’s fine.
Acknowledge it. (ref: 37 Signals)- if your audience is potential investors,
that’s also fine. Admit it.
Step 2. Know your audience
don’t assume. beware stereotypes
- find them- watch them- talk to them
Step 3. Design for your audience
question everything
- consider using personas- question every product & design decision against your users needs.
