Specialization: The program offers three specializations: Production and Organization, Purchasing and Sales, Services.
Key learning outcomes The program offers training in business management with a focus on both economic skills and traditional mathematical and analytical competence. Students acquire a broad knowledge in the engineering sciences and data processing.
Graduates are qualified to fulfill a broad spectrum of challenging operational roles in a company. They have learnt to work flexibly and to make use of commercial and technical approaches in order to find integrated solutions to problems.
Profile of the program The modules of the program mesh knowledge of the areas of mathematics, engineering, business and management. The first five semesters offer general courses, including a traineeship. Afterwards students choose one of the three specialization areas.
Production and Organization: The profile is tailored towards added value and improvement of efficiency of business processes within the own company.
Purchasing and Sales: Since this concerns matters mainly external to a company, the program is tailored towards the analysis, evaluation and handling of suppliers, as well as the choice of future customers, presentation of products, complaint management, and services. In addition, the profile includes concepts and instruments of sales.
Services: This profile aims at adding services such as planning, financing, maintenance, after sales and call center to the technical product, but also at handling the entire management of large-scale projects including identifying and calculating the required activities, awarding of contracts, controlling, coordination.
Occupational profiles of graduates
Business Administration and Engineering Graduates merge the potential of the areas of technology and business administration towards a convincing solution. Graduates are employed both by global companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, as they are able to quickly adapt to new tasks.
Graduates typically work in automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aviation, computer science, service industry, and consulting. Their areas of expertise include product management, project engineering, key account management, process optimization, logistics, information management, controlling, market research, sales or personnel.
Program duration: 8 semesters / 240 ECTS
Pre-study work 8 weeks/38 attendance days to get familiar with basic materials, metal machining and electrotechnical production. Students who
experience: have no pre-study work experience at the time of application must do an internship of 10 weeks/47 attendance days until the end of the introductory course semesters.
The pre-study work experience can be waived if the applicant has vocational training in a related job.
Specific admission requirements
General or subject specific university entrance qualification or comparable entrance qualification; eight-week pre-study work experience. For students from abroad: proof of satisfactory knowledge of German.
Ranking is created using weighted grades for the university entrance qualification (factor 1) and individual subjects of mathematics (factor 3) and German or corresponding language for a foreign entrance qualification (factor 3). 2 bonus points are given for a technical or commercial professional qualification. 3 bonus points are given if mathematics was a school major, 2 bonus points are given if German was a school major.
Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning
Vocational training at “Meister” level or acquired at a school for further vocational training, together with an interview at HsKA, will be recognized as equivalent to university entrance qualification.
2-year vocational training followed by 3-year occupation in a related job, together with an interview at HsKA and an eligibility exam at Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, will be recognized as equivalent to university entrance qualification.
Results achieved in theory or practical courses of an academic degree program at a recognized higher education institution can be transferred to HsKA according to ECTS recognition procedures upon express request, if the Board of Examiners acknowledges these results to be comparable in terms of level, subject content and extent.
Prior learning must be in a similar or related subject.

The annex also shows the weight of the various examinations towards the final grade. All parts which count towards a subject examination must be concluded successfully with a mark no less
than 4.0 each.
