WHAT IS A GENERAL PURPOSE HOSE REEL?

Commercial buildings such as shopping malls, hotels, schools, hospitals and other industrial sites conduct regular cleaningand maintenance activities. A general purpose hose reel is made for daily use with water up to 40°C and will sustain long-lasting and rough use. A general purpose hose reel ordered with the red colour option is approved as a fire hose reel.

CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENT DEMAND SUITABLE PARTS AND CORROSION PROTECTIONCorrosive environment such as sewage disposal works, water treatment plants, bathing facilities, tunnels and parkinggarages demand stainless steel parts and brass parts with extra corrosion protection. A range of suitable models available.

FOOD INDUSTRYThe food industry is demanding when it comes to safety. NOHA offers cabinets in raw stainless steel and a generalpurpose hose reel for hot water up to 80°C.

CHOOSING THE CORRECT, SUITABLE EXTINGUISHANTFor optimal fire protection, it is important to define which areas and objects that may become exposed to fire andwhich extinguishant is the most suitable for the particular hazard.

WaterClean water will extinguish most fires. It is almost always available and you won’t risk running empty on extinguishant.

FoamYou will need foam in situations where water alone is not enough to put out a fire, for example fires in carboniferousmaterials and flammable liquid. Foam is excellent for insulating spills of flammable liquids against ignition.

A foam hose reel mixes water and foam concentrate. A foam adapter on the nozzle can also add air which preventsdegasification from flammable liquids. Filmforming foam concentrates (FFFP or AFFF) are most suitable for fires inliquids and materials containing solvents. A foam hose reel is fitted with a foam inductor to mix water and either AFFFsynthetic foam concentrates or FFFP environmental friendly protein foam. The inductor draws the concentrate directlyfrom the tank or container and mixes it with water. If only the water valve is open and the foam valve is closed, thehose reel works as a regular fire hose reel.

Wet ChemicalCooking oil fires, because of their high auto-ignition temperatures, are difficult to extinguish. Conventional extinguis-hants are not suitable on such fires. The specially formulated wet chemical, however, is. When applied to the burningliquid, it cools and emulsifies the oil, extinguishes the flame, seals the surface and prevents re-ignition.

PowderPowder is often used as a supplement to extinguish fires in combustible solids such as wood, paper and textile, and indifferent kinds of gasses such as propane, butane and acetylene. Powder is a highly effective extinguishant and isavailable in different classes according to the extinguishing effect.

GasArgonite is a blend of 50% argon and 50% nitrogen gases that occur naturally in the atmosphere. It is popular withorganizations that prefer to use a non-chemical suppression agent. With zero ODP, zero GWP and zero atmospheric life-time, Argonite has excellent environmental credentials. It works by displacing oxygen and reducing from the normal 21%to a level that will not support combustion. A typical design concentration of 40% will reduce the oxygen level to 12.5%within 60 seconds. In occupied areas personnel can continue to breathe safely at this level for short periods of time.

NOHA FOAM HOSE REEL FOR WALL-MOUNTING

At 6 bar water pressure, 80 litres ofwater per minute is mixed with 3% foamconcentrate and discharged from thehose. With a 25 liter foam container, theaction time is approx. 10 minutes. Foamcontainers can be supplied in differentsizes.

Suitable for fighting fires involvingcarboniferous materials and flammableliquids; the foam works as a wettingagent effective against deep-seatedfires. Is also recommended for sealingspills of flammable liquids.

NOHA GENERAL PURPOSE HOSEREEL FOR HOT WATER UP TO 80°C

A general purpose hose reel is desingedto withstand arduous, industrial use orlong-term daily use and has a handle tosimplify rewinding. Spray nozzle withpistol grip automatically stops the flow ofwater when released. Hose is odour-freeand does not affect the taste of food, nordoes it deposit any particles in the water.

For general cleaning purposes in thefood industry and at commercial kitchenswhere water up to 80°C is used at amaximum of 10 bar, or anywherecleaning equipment is subject to stringenthygiene requirements. This hose reel isnot designed to transfer foodstuffs.
