The sacraments fill our souls with God’s life and strengthen us to grow in faith, holiness, and love of God. UNIT 2: Baptism and Confirmation Baptism and Confirmation are Sacraments of Christian Initiation. They welcome us into the Body of Christ, the Church. After Saint Paul received the Holy Spirit and was baptized, he went on to become one of the Church’s greatest saints. UNIT 3: The Eucharist At the Last Supper, Jesus instituted the Sacrament of the Eucharist. In the Eucharist, we receive the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the Eucharist, Jesus remains with us forever. UNIT 4: Reconciliation and no inting of the Sick Jesus proclaims that he has come to forgive sins. Throughout his ministry, he healed the sick in body and in soul. Through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick, we are healed by the saving actions of Christ. UNIT 1: We ns wer God’s Call Abraham and Sarah are our ancestors in faith because they were the first to respond to God’s call to holiness and fidelity. God calls each of us to be faithful to his word and to lead others in holiness. UNIT 3: God Invites Us into His Kingdom The people of Israel were called to build up a kingdom that would be a tribute to God’s love. Jesus taught us about the Kingdom of Heaven, where God’s love will be evident in justice and peace. UNIT 4: God Reminds Us to Do His Will The faith of the Israelites was tested through exile and persecution. We are called to live our faith, even in a world that challenges our Christian values. UNIT 2: God Saves and Delivers Us God saved the Hebrew people from slavery in Egypt.
