This is the script for the short film “Genesis” detailing the actions and dialogue involved.

Genesis – Short Film – Red Alternative – 18/11/2013 – Page 1.

1. INT. BEDROOM – DAY 1400 Ails Suitor sitting in room, hears parents arguing in background, looks up at blank door, argument sounds getting louder

CONTINUED, CUT TO -

2. INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY 1500 Ails Suitor sitting on sofa, blurs of parents walking past arguing, eye level shot, parents faces not visible, Ails attempts communication but gives up over argument between parents

CUT TO -

3. INT. BEDROOM – DAY 1600 Ails now sitting back in room, watching Megadrive game intensely, emptiness of room behind him highlighted,

4. INT. BEDROOM – NIGHT 2200 Screen light only light source, orange juice falls from table and smashes onto Megadrive, screen goes dead, Megadrive still on, Ails turns on light, Ails uses cloth to wipe system, wipes unresponsive controller, Plant in room moves to the left, Ails pushes right button, plant moves right, Ails stares at plant, he pushes up button, plant moves forward, he places controller onto the side softly, his hands are shaking, he goes to sleep

5. INT. BEDROOM – DAY 2 0900 Ails wakes up, groggy from over exposed light in room, has breakfast bar and after finishes he looks toward the controller and remembers, he picks up controller, tries to move plant and it moves, he directs controller to DVD case and pushes button, DVD case moves, he turns around to check if anybody is behind him

6. EXT. STAIRS – DAY 2 0930 Ails runs down stairs, flipping controller in hand

7. EXT. DRIVEWAY – DAY 2 0931 Ails points controller at neighbours car, pushes start button, engine turns on, pushes up on d-pad, car moves forward, pushes down on d-pad, car moves backward, hears person coming/talking from distance getting closer, presses start button again and engine turns off, runs to room

8. INT. BEDROOM – DAY 2 0940 Ails lays on bed, looks at controller (POV), sits up, grins, runs out room

9. INT. STAIRS – DAY 2 1000 Ails runs downstairs, continuously grinning

EXT. DRIVEWAY – DAY 2 1001Ails runs out house, controller in hand

EXT. HILL/ROAD – DAY 2 1020Ails walks up hill, town seen in distance

EXT. ABANDONED DISTRICT – DAY 2 1040Walks along roadside smiling, hears the sound of man whistling, Ails stops and covertly hides his controller, he pushes buttons on the controller, man starts moving uncontrollably, man falls into street, man gets hit by van, driver steps out and attends the body, Ails in shock and shaking at what he has done, Ails has a revelation, He runs offEXT. HILL/ROAD – DAY 2 1115Ails running frantically, exhaustion catching up but not giving up running

EXT. DRIVEWAY - DAY 2 1130Ails runs into house

INT. BEDROOM – DAY 2 1131Ails runs into room, stops, heavily breathing, exhausted, kneels down, pushes “RESET”
