GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE OF BRAZIL By: Hannah

THE ISLANDS OF BRAZIL >Rio De Janeiro is one of the islands in Brazil.

>Espirito Santo is another one of Brazil’s islands. It’s near the South Atlantic Ocean right with Rio De Janeiro.

Ø  Sao Francisco do Sul is another one of Brazil’s islands near the South Atlantic Ocean.

Ø  Santa Cararina is one island in Brazil. Also near the South Atlantic Ocean

Ø  Rio Grande Do Norte is an island farther out into the ocean. But part of Brazil’s area.

Ø  Islands are a piece of land surrounded by water.

THE DESERTS IN BRAZIL Chile is a desert in Brazil.

Chile is a very rocky area. In Chile, it is very hot there. The desert in Brazil, is far from Brazil’s grassy areas, but is connected to the grassland areas. There is some water there but not much. Its colder in Chile at night than in the day time. That’s why animals hunt during the night so its cooler and they have a better chance of getting prey. They have excellent night vison. Chile is one of Brazil’s deserts.

A dry land with barely any water.

RIVERS There are many, many, rivers in Brazil. Most of them lead from the oceans. The rivers lead out into the oceans. Santa Fe do Sul is a city near a river. The rivers that are around Brazil, are either near cities or towns or they are near roads or maybe both. Like Santa Maria that city or town isn’t anywhere near a river other than the ocean which is quite a bit away too. Santa Fe is right next to a river. The rivers help with food, transportation, water, trading, bathing, and more. The rivers that lead out to the ocean are more likely to have more water but yet some bad stuff too. Like sea urchins, plankton, and maybe some water snakes which are poisonous. The rivers near the oceans aren’t the best ideas. If that’s the closest then go for it. There are so many rivers in Brazil.

A river is a large stream of water flowing.

PENINSULAS Brazil does not have any peninsulas except Port-of-Spain. There is also another peninsula but it doesn’t have a name. Well, it doesn’t say its name. Port-of-Spain is a national capital. Brazil is a peninsula. Brazil is surrounded by water. Also, the rivers in Brazil lead into the ocean.

PLATEAUS Right were Chile is there are some plateaus. Plateaus is a tall, flat surface, which isn’t fun to fall off of. Plateaus are tall. And flat. Plateaus are like mountains but are flat on the top and are not triangle-ish shaped. In the darker region on maps that’s were the deserts and plateaus are. Plateaus in Brazil are over-top tall and like land on top but has an end.

PLAINS The Pampas, plains. Flat area. 750,000 km2. Its in Rio Grande do Sul. The Pampas is in Brazil, but the state in Brazil that Pampas is in is Rio Grande do Sul. Some animals that live in the Pampas include, foxes, skunks, small herds of guanaco, viscachas, bush dogs, many bird species. Pampas is a flat, region that is in Brazil and in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. I wonder if any people live in that flat land?

A plain is a larger area of land with a couple trees, not much.

DELTAS Deltas are landforms. Brazil has many deltas just like any other country. My country, Brazil, has curvy, straight, and normal landforms. The deserts in Brazil, I would say have almost a flat surface because all is sand, and a few rocks and a scorpion or two underneath the sand.

MOUNTAINS The mountains of Brazil are super tall like any other mountain. A mountain is a large elevation of the Earth’s surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level; a large steep hill. Mountains are either in mountain ranges and some are just lonesome and have no friends. Some of the largest mountains in Brazil are, Pico da Neblina (9,823) Pico da Bandeira (9,488) Mount Roraima (9,219) Perda da Mina (9,181) Morro do Couto (8,793) Pica da Maromba (8,593) and way more. But there is way to much to write. Those were a few of the tallest ones, the over all top one, the tallest of them all is, Pico da Neblina which is 9,832. The picture to the side is the tallest one in Brazil.

BEACHES Brazil has some beaches. A beach is a pebbly or sandy shore, especially by the ocean between high- and low-water marks. Beaches are also known as seasides, seashores, shore, coast, waterfront, lakeshore, coastline, coastal region, littoral, seaboard, foreshore, water’s edge and more. Some beaches in Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis, Armaco dos, natal. The beaches there are beautiful.

MARSHLAND Marshlands are land consisting of marshes. And marshes is low-lying land that is flooded in wet seasons or a high tide, and typically remains waterlogged at all times. The only marshland in Brazil is, The Pantanal. Which is a natural region encompassing the world’s largest tropical wetland area. This Marshland is within the Brazilian state of, Mato Grosso do Sul, but extends into Mato Grosso and protions of Bolivia and Paraguay. Brazil doesn’t have any marshlands except this one.
