Welcome to Geophysics!This course combines Earth Science content while exploring the Physics that underlie observable phenomenon. Topics include plate tectonics, mountain-building and volcanoes, astronomy, history of the Earth, velocity, acceleration, waves, energy, forces, magnetism, and atomic structure.

These topics will be explored with a strong emphasis on developing and utilizing reading strategies to become active, engaged readers/learners. Authentic learning through the eyes, mind, and heart of a scientist will be the goal!
