BELLAMY BROTHERS LET THEIR GLOBAL LOVE FLOW
Bellamys Set For International Tours in South Africa, Bulgaria, Australia,
Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, France and Austria.
Multi-platinum selling country music duo the Bellamy
Brothers are certainly no strangers to international touring.
While most traditional country musicians keep their sights
set on the U.S. tour trail, David and Howard Bellamy have
always taken an alternate approach, maintaining solid inter-
national concert bookings for the past 35 years.
In 2011 and 2012, in addition to playing approximately 300
U.S. dates, the brothers will travel and perform in South
Africa, Bulgaria, Australia, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Ger-
many, Norway, Sweden and France, among others.
“Our international career has been a phenomenal blessing,”
says David Bellamy. “When we started the band over three
decades ago, we never anticipated having such an amazing
global reach.”
This May marks 35 years since "Let Your Love Flow" went to No. 1 in 15 countries worldwide, including the
U.S. In 1979, their “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me” was crowned the
United Kingdom‟s Record of the Year.
The brotherly duo remains a major player in the European record industry. In 2010, the Bellamys teamed with
Swiss megastar Gölä (Universal Music Switzerland) to release Bellamy Brothers & Gölä: Greatest Hits Ses-
sions. The album spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Swiss Music Chart and earned the Bellamys a double-
platinum selling record. The album also spawned a sold-out eight city tour of Switzerland.
The Bellamys‟ Anthology Volume 1 (previously released and recently certified gold in Switzerland and Nor-
way) and Volume 2 are currently scheduled for a 2011 release in Denmark and Sweden. Both albums will be
supported with national television campaigns.
The Bellamys are currently in negotiations with a major label German / Austrian artist for a collaborative pro-
ject. An official announcement is expected soon.
“We feel very fortunate for our international following. Our foreign fans have been so loyal over the years, and
every tour has been a memorable experience even though we suffer from a chronic case of jet lag,” confesses
Howard Bellamy.

Microsoft, UPS, Nintendo and Boeing. Not satisfied,
he went on ahead and worked with Purina and Hall-
mark, as well. That pond we were talking about ear-
lier is getting quite a bit more crowded now isn't?
Scott also took some
time to play a key role
on the creative teams
for a few productions
you may have heard
of like, "The Rock-
ford Files", "The
Magnificent Seven",
"Buffy the Vampire
Slayer" and "Tracey
Takes On". That pond is getting deeper, too.
As if that litany of names, shows and projects wasn't
enough for you, (and it certainly wasn't for
Mr.Duthie) he also went on to rack up some film and
television credits, as well. Some of these you may
have heard of or even watched for a time to include,
"Leave it to Beaver","Sleepless in Seattle", "Dante's
Peak", "The Patriot", "Temptation Island" and
"Touched by and Angel."
Well, I think we can say Scott Duthie is very busy
fish in the industry! Yet, he wasn't quite as tuckered
out as you and I might have imagine after all of that
work. Scott still had a few cards up his sleeve and
went on ahead and jumped into some critical produc-
tion work for many nationally successful commer-
cials and promotional spots for Reebok, Pontiac,
Visa, Verizon, along with ABC and CBS Network
promotionals.
Oh, and if you
thought film and
television were the
only ponds Scott
learned to swim
in, you'd be mis-
taken. Scott also

The music and film industry is a
murky, obscure pond of little
fish and bigger fish. Oftentimes,
it's difficult to rise to the surface
of that pond to see who the big
players truly are. To be sure, we
have the big name celebrities
and actors and performers that
seem to float above the surface
for all of us to admire and be inspired by. Yet, at the
very heart of the industry are the folks that are con-
stantly elbows-deep in the production, promotion and
distribution of those 'big fish'.
Meet Scott Duthie.
Scott is the founder of
Angry Monkey Enter-
tainment, a specialized
Production, Marketing,
and Distribution Com-
pany, (out of Brent-
wood, Tennessee)
which recently super-
vised the theatrical dis-
tribution of Brian
Herzlinger's new film,
"Baby On Board," starring Heather Graham, Jerry
O'Connell, John Corbett, and Lara Flynn Boyle.
Scott is definitely swimming with the 'big fish' with-
out a doubt. Of course, all of the opportunities, pro-
jects and productions Scott has worked on over the
years didn't exactly fall into his lap. Scott did his time
and worked tirelessly to become an alumnus of the
American Film Institute with a postgraduate degree in
Motion Picture Production Design. And if that wasn't
enough to transfer to an impressive industry resume,
Scott sought out challenging projects that utilized his
mastery of staying at the forefront of technology in
the production aspect of both film and television.
The early days of Scott's career in Seattle, Washing-
ton, saw him saddle up with and function as technical
consultant and creative director for major players like,

Smashmouth, Tal Bachman, REM, Citizen King, Five
For Fighters, Toni Braxton, Kelly Clarkson, An-
astacia, and Ben Moody. Not exactly a bottom-
dwelling array of catfish.
Now, this might be all well and good, but Scott
brought it home to the Nashville area and did us proud
by producing the latest "Pure Country 2 DVD". The
"Pure Country 2 DVD" saw Scott bring together some
industry 'big fish' like, George Strait, Katrina Elam,
Michael McKean,
Cheech Marin,
Bronson Pinchot,
Jackie Welch, and
Heidi Brook
Myers in a story
that involves a
young woman
who is gifted by
angels with the
strength of song,
personality and perseverance. All she has to do is hold
on to them through the struggles she faces. After leav-
ing home and coming to Nashville to pursue her
dreams, she realizes the price of fame is more than she
bargained for. And if you're pickin' down on Broad-
way at 'open-mic night' for tip-jar money, you know
the drill. "Pure Country 2 DVD", worthy look at the
desperation and the inspiration. Thanks, Scott, for the
production. Yet another feather in the cap of those,
like you, that have the heart to jump in, boot up and
hold up a mirror to all of us here in Nashville.

Although Neil Young is a legendary entertainer, I was a little skeptical of how
country this album would really be…but let me tell you, Neil knows how to “rock
it” country style, particularly on “Are You Ready For The Country” and “Grey Rid-
ers.” This project is a compilation of live recordings from Neil Young‟s tour with
the International Harvesters band in 1984-1985. Live CDs generally have a differ-
ent energy with a raw edge and this is no exception. Although recorded at various
locations from Nashville and Austin to Berkeley and New York City, there is con-
sistency throughout the album. This material is as relevant and stylish now as it
was then. With five previously unreleased songs, this album is A Treasure!

There is nothing as sweet and pure as sibling harmony and in The LeGarde Twins‟
Brand New CD, those tight family harmonies are at the forefront. Born in Austra-
lia, they began performing together in the „50s. Being brothers with a long musical
history adds a level of confidence to this project. While this is a traditional country
project, their influences in cowboy music and Australian music are present through-
out. Some of the material here is reminiscent of the late Billy Walker, particularly
“I‟m Looking For You.” A personal favorite is the western swing number entitled,
“Swing Of Things In Texas.” All in all, a nice project.
Singer/songwriter, Howard Lips, is not the “new kid on the block” in Nashville or
the entertainment world for that matter. One of the most significant milestones of
his career thus far is having three songs recorded by the illustrious group, The Plat-
ters - totaling 18 million in sales. Although that success lies firmly in the pop/rock
market, this collection is straight-ahead solid country with a „70s feel. It is a typi-
cal songwriter CD with unpretentious vocals, yet it aptly represents the songwriter‟s
interpretation of his own creations. Howard writes about a variety of topics from
“Barrel Racer” to the “Newman Lumber Company,” throughout which the music
flows with ease.

Movie Review Pure Country 2: The Gift
PG 9 www.countryentertainmentusa.com
just a little girl, Bobbie‟s heaven sent voice is excel-
ling in the church choir and her gift is obvious to all
who know her. However, Bobbie will be required to
use this gift correctly.
As a true to life story often goes, Bobbie finds herself
restless in the small town, unhappy with an unfulfil-
ling boyfriend and big dreams that need chasing. She
decides it is time to take the plunge and move to
Nashville and hops on the greyhound bus with the lit-
tle money she has assuring Ella that she will find a job
when she gets there. Before she goes though, Ella
wants her to remember the important principles that
she has instilled in her “Never lie, always be fair and
never break a promise.”
Bobbie quickly learns that dreaming is much easier
than doing as she arrives in Nashville struggling to
find a job let alone a place to sleep. She does finally
land a job at a local Sushi restaurant. However, the
manager specifically asks her if she‟s a singer to
which she answers “no.” Uh oh, rule #1 is already
broken as she has compromised by telling a lie. Her
lie originally appears to not have any negative conse-
quences as she is working and realizes that her co-
workers just happen to be an aspiring band them-
selves. They all begin working together and even the
manager of the restaurant softens his heart towards
their music dreams and amazingly decides to become
their band manager. Soon after, Elam is discovered,
earns her record deal that she has always
“With any great gift comes the great
responsibility of maintaining one‟s
integrity.” This simple but crucial
truth proves to be the theme and the
ultimate message of Pure Country 2,
giving it a positive disposition as a
spiritual and family friendly movie.
With a wholesome storyline and a
good hearted direction, the writing in
itself is to be commended as these types of movies are
a rare find today. The movie presents the common
story that we so often see here in music city, making it
not only identifiable for aspiring artists, but it also
serves as a reminder to treat your gifts and other peo-
ple with respect. While George Strait does make a
few brief appearances in this movie, it is quite differ-
ent from Pure Country 1 in the approach it takes.
Talented country singer/songwriter Katrina Elam who
entered the country music scene in 2004 charting
three different singles appropriately stars as Bobbie
Thomas. With angelic vocals and a real-life gift, she
plays her role very convincingly showing that she is a
true multi-talent. Bobbie, whose mother passed away
after giving birth to her, was generously raised by the
respectable and pure hearted Ella (Jackie Welch), a
loving black
woman who is
understanda-
bly Bobbie‟s
rock and con-
sistent advisor.
Ella knew that
Bobbie was
special from
birth as she
was given the
gift of voice
from three an-
gels (Bronson
Pinchot,
Cheech Marin
and Michael
McKean). As

dreamed of and finds herself working with a shady but
well connected agent. Shady yes, but he‟s making her
dreams come true and Bobbie continues to obey his
plans for her. Sadly, he convinces her to dump her
band….the band that was
by her side in her endeav-
ors, struggles and growth.
The angels are rightfully
disappointed as they watch
Bobbie break rule #2 - al-
ways be fair.
Even with all the rule
breaking, everything ap-
pears to be running unde-
niably smooth as she finds
herself at the top of the charts and performing at sold
out shows alongside the king of country music him-
self. To top it all off, she hand picks the exact cow-
boy model (Travis Fimmel) she wants for her video
shoot. This handsome cowboy just happens to be a
guy that she had previously met and was intrigued by.
It is clear that sparks exist between the two and that
love is in the air. An unexpected twist occurs when
Bobbie is on a talk show and her long lost father ap-
pears to meet her for the very first time. She had al-
ways thought of her Daddy as a charming rodeo cow-
boy on a white horse, but in reality he is an alcoholic
that will be a true challenge for her. Still Bobbie
vows to take on the task and to be there for her Dad
(J.D. Parker). However, strike #3 takes place when
her dad‟s drunken and belligerent conduct lands him
and his newly reunited daughter in a fight in which
Bobbie decides to give up on him. It is quickly evi-
dent that Bobbie‟s choices have led to her losing her
gift. She hits the stage ready to entertain fans only to
realize she cannot sing anymore. The angels sadly
had to put her talent back on the shelf as Bobbie has
not stayed true to herself or used her gift correctly.
The world is undoubtedly crashing down on Bobbie
Thomas as she is told there is no longer any use for
her in the music business and that she is done. Lost
and broken, she returns back home searching for an-
swers and meaning in her life. Ella advises her that
she must learn to sing with her heart and find a way to
make amends. Bobbie recognizes her wrongs and de-
cides to do everything she can to repair, restore and
rebuild by making positive and fair decisions from
then on. She reunites with her former band, takes her
Dad to rehab and sings for a good cause from heart.
Not surprisingly Bobbie‟s priceless gift is returned
and she learns an important life lesson.
Elam deserves recognition
not only for being a gifted
singer but also for being a
talented actress. With in-
credible vocals and an in-
disputably true to life musi-
cal gift, she simply shines
as she genuinely loves sing-
ing and entertaining. I
don‟t believe there to be
anyone more deserving of
the role of Bobby Thomas
than Katrina Elam. Scoring cuts with some major art-
ists, she does continues to be successful in the enter-
tainment industry. However, if I had it my way, she
would be on the top of the charts as herself as we
speak.
With that said, this heartfelt movie contains an impor-
tant and relevant message that should certainly apply
to all audiences and demographics. Whether famous
or not, we are all given special gifts and talents that
we must use correctly and fairly if we expect to pros-
per and to maintain those gifts and talents. The un-
derlined meaning that can be gathered from the movie
is a priceless one: “Remember who you are and
whose you are.”
Kudos to Christopher Cain, Scott Duthie, Hunt
Lowry, Lawrence Mortorff, Ben Horton, Phil Adams,
James Tierney, Jeff Schafer, Doug Draizin, Michael
Minkler, Jay Hoffman and Dean Cain for their well
thought out and well planned production and writing
of this inspiring movie!

the film itself, many organizations and people gave
their time to the making of this film further living up
to the foundational purpose of this project. Residents
stepped up donating photos that could be used. While
watching the film you will also recognize some Nash-
ville locals such as Mayor Karl Dean, country singer
Julie Roberts, Charlie Chase of the Crook and Chase
Show, Belinda Gentry, Joe Hrasna and GAC‟s Nan
Kelley as they are interviewed.
Zac and Mark agree that the film
came together naturally as it was
unscripted and they feel that it
wrote itself. They wanted every
scene to have a purpose and a story
and never before seen pictures and
video footage helped make this hap-
pen. Through the outpour of volun-
teerism and the utilizing of connec-
tions, they amazingly worked to
make an epic film without money. In fact, any money
made on the film will go directly to charity to benefit
flood victims. From talking to Adams and Slaughter,
it was very obvious how much this genuinely means
to them as they are very humbled and thankful to
have produced this inspiring project.
They emphasize that it is a very honest film simply
educating and raising awareness of this amazing city
that we are living in. It helps to validate the reasoning
for the fact that so many artists live here of all genres
and why we are the music community that we are.
This documentary is currently receiving a great deal
of promotion and attention around our city and also
nationally as it truly features and captures the very
essence of what we are all about as a community. Im-
pressively, this documentary will be making its debut
at several film festivals. This highly anticipated film
has just premiered and has been shown in several lo-
cations. Excitedly Nashville Rises just was awarded
the Ground Zero Spirit Award for Best Documentary
Short at the Nashville Film Festival. In addition,
“Nashville Rises” will be airing on PBS towards late
summer.

At the beginning of May 2010, our
very own Music City USA experi-
enced over 13 inches of rain in a two
hour period. The flood was unques-
tionably deemed as the worst disaster
in Nashville history. Rather than
wondering who was affected by the
disaster, it was more of a question of
who wasn‟t. Either directly or indi-
rectly, nearly every Nashville resi-
dent felt and still feels the pain, the loss and the tur-
moil in one way or another. The flood waters de-
stroyed countless homes, businesses, and anything in
its path robbing numerous people of their shelters and
livelihoods. When such a tragedy occurs, the options
of how one can respond are basically limited to two
choices: you can either let it defeat you or you can rise
up and help your neighbors. Thankfully Nashville
residents chose the second option living up to their
title of the “Volunteer State.” Volunteers rolled up
their sleeves and got down on their hands and knees
helping people they had never met until that moment.
Others decided to give necessities such as food, cloth-
ing and other monetary donations.
Zac Adams of Sky-
dive Films who had
previously worked
with Mark Slaughter
(of the Band Slaugh-
ter) called him up
one night with an
idea. Together Ad-
ams (writer/director),
Slaughter and Cameron Carrier would co-produce a
non-profit documentary called “Nashville Rises.”
Cody Westheimer served as the composer, while Bill
Cornelius took on the responsibility as the director of
photography and Luke Dye was the editor. As soon as
Hollywood star Billy Bob Thornton heard about the
project, he readily wanted to help and became the nar-
rator. As the group collaborated they watched their
goal unfold as the story of “Nashville Rises” is one of
“triumph and the never drifting human spirit.”
