Georgia Tech Early Offense vs. Man Defense

#1 reverses the ball to #4 on top who passes to #3on the left wing area.

As the ball is reversed, #5 steps out a bit and setsa back screen for #2. #3 cuts across the low blockarea to the left low block. After screening, #5 stepsin the pain momentarily for the post up. This will beeffective if his defender had to help on #2 cutting tothe left low block.

#2 then cuts up and sets a back screen for #4. #4

cuts to the low left block looking for the entry passfrom #3.

#2 then steps out to receive the pass from #3.

Once #2 has the ball on top, #5 steps out and sets

a ball screen for #2. #2 and #5 execute a pick androll on top. #5 rolls to the basket.

As this is happening, #3 follows his pass on topwhile #4 steps out to replace the spot just vacatedby #3. This action clears the lane area for the pickand roll action from #2 and #5.

#1 passes the ball across the top to #4. #4 thendribbles at #2 on the right wing. As this ishappening, #3 is cutting across underneath thebasket to the right low block area.


#4 executes a dribble hand-off with #2 on the right

wing. #2 takes the ball over the top. As this ishappening, #5 is back screening #1's defender. As#2 dribbles to the top, #1 is fading to the left wingarea looking for the pass from #2.

If #1 does not get the pass, #4 will down screen for#3 looking for the open jumper on the right wing.


If #1 did receive the pass on the left wing, #5 wouldpost up while #2 and #4 set a double screen for #3.

Georgia Tech Set Play vs. Man Defense

2 - 3 high alignment to begin.

#1 enters to #2 on the right wing. #5 sets a backscreen for #3 as he cuts down the lane to the rightblock. Certainly #2 can look for #3 but is not reallyan option on this play.

Once #3 cuts down to the right block, #1 cuts away

and then comes back to the ball. #2 passes to #1while #5 steps out to set a ball screen for #1.

#1 comes off the ball screen high while #2 movesup to take the position just vacated by #1 while #3steps out to the right wing where #2 just occupied.

#5 rolls off the ball screen to the basket and is #1'sfirst option.


If #5 is not open on the roll, #1 will look to passback to #2 who will pass down to #3. Both #2 and#3 will look to pass inside to #5 on the right block.

#1 takes the ball on the dribble to the right wingarea. As this is happening, #2 cuts down to theright low block and #4 breaks up to the top of thekey. #1 hits #4 on top.


Once #4 has the ball, #3 and #5 set a double

screen for #2. #2 looks to get open in the left wingarea. #4 takes the ball over a few dribbles toimprove his passing angle.

If #2 is not open for the jumper, #3 sets a backscreen for #4. #2 looks to lob the ball to the rim for#4. If he is not open, #5 is looking to post on the

left low block.

#1 drives the ball down to the left wing. #3 movesdown to the left low block. When #3 reaches theleft low block, #5 and #3 set a back screen for #4.

#4 cuts hard to the ball side low block looking forthe post entry pass from #1.

screen away for #2. #1 can look to hit #2 comingoff the double screen or he can look for #5 rollingto the basket after the screen.

#1 dribbles at #3 on the left wing. #3 clears out tothe opposite block area.

#4 then uses a back screen from #5 to get open onthe left block. #1 looks to make the entry pass tothe post if #4 is open.


If #4 is not open, #5 and #2 set a ball screen on

top for #1. #1 comes over the top looking to score,hit #3 on the right corner / wing area or hit #5rolling to the basket.

2 - 3 high set to begin.

#1 passes to #4 on top who then executes adribble handoff with #2 on the right wing.

#1, after passing to #4, cuts down and back out tothe left wing area off of a downscreen from #3.

#5 slides over to the ballside freethrow line elbowarea.


Once #2 has the ball, he centers himself on the

dribble while #5 and #4 set a double screen for #3.

#3 has the option of going around the screen orbetween the two screeners. After #3 cuts betweenthe screeners, #4 and #5 would then close thedoor on #3's defender by moving together.

#2 passes to #3 on the right wing for the openshot.

If #3 does not have a shot, #4 quickly breaks out tothe corner area while #5 moves down the lanelooking for the pass from #4.

This action might be effective if executed quicklyafter screening because of the potential "switching"or "hedging" of defenders that guarded the doublescreen action from #4 and #5.

#1 enters to the left wing man #3. #4 and #1 moveaway towards #2 on the right wing. #2 slides downa bit getting ready to use screens from #4 and #1.

Once #3 has the ball, #5 steps out and executes a

pick and roll with #3. #4 and #1 are setting adouble screen for #2 on the right wing.

#3 has the option of using the ball screen andlooking to score or dump the ball down to #5 rollingto the basket, or, he can hit #2 coming off thedouble screen.

#1 enters to #2 on the right wing. #1 and #3 crosson top and cut down to their opposite respectiveblocks.

#3 will stop short of the block.


#3 then cuts back and sets a quick back screen for

#5 who rolls around the screen and looks for thequick hitting post entry on the right low block.

#3 pops out after screening for floor balance and tocontinue their motion offense if #5 is not open.

#5 steps out and sets a ball screen for #1 on top.As #1 comes over the top of the ball screen, #5 isrolling to the basket while #4 is breaking up to thespot just vacated by #1.

#1 looks to dump the ball inside to #5 if he is openrolling to the basket.


If #1 cannot get the ball to #5 on the roll, #1 will

pass the ball to #4 on top who will look to enter theball to #5 inside.

If #5 is still not open, #4 will pass to #3 on the leftwing. #4 will screen away for #1 after passing to#3.

Once #3 has the ball, #5 steps out and sets a ballscreen for #3. #3 comes off the ball screen lookingto score or will look to hit #5 rolling to the basket.

to #3, who has broken up on top after screening for#2.

#1 will first look for #3 or #5 cutting to the basket.His next look is for #2 breaking to the corner.


Once #2 has the ball, #4 steps out and sets a ball

screen for #2. As #2 comes over the top of thescreen, #3 is screening down for #1 steppinginbounds and out to the left wing area for the openjump shot.

#2 may also look to hit the #5 man inside pinningand sealing for good post position

#2 starts to slide up the lane as #3 starts the play.


If #3 does not get the ball, #2 is quickly cutting

behind #3 off the double staggered screen set by#4 and #5.

As #2 comes off #5's screen, he rolls to the basketlooking for the pass from either #2 or #1.

#1 looks to enter the ball to #2.
