OneDrive (previously SkyDrive) is a cloud based service developed by

Microsoft, used primarily for storing and sharing documents for both personal

and business purposes

+ No downloads- runs from web browser

+ Included in your Office365 account

+ Easily accessible- anywhere with internet

connection, any device; web app access

+ Cloud-based- all content stored online with

sync option (No “crashing”!)

+ Allows for collaboration- file sharing,

coauthoring

+ Living documents- up to the minute changes,

versioning

+ Storage capacity- 1TB per user at The Citadel

• Select editing option- off/online

• Choose EDIT to edit in Microsoft Office application OR

• Choose 2nd ellipsis and EDIT IN BROWSER to edit online

How do I upload files to OneDrive?

• Browse for and select file(s) to upload

• Confirm with OK

Drag and drop from file explorer

• Select file(s) and drag into OneDrive

How do I share files on OneDrive?

Click ellipsis to open menu

Choose SHARE

Enter name(s)/email address(es)

Set viewing/editing permissions

In OneDrive, clicking the icon under “Sharing”

will also open the SHARE DOCUMENT window

Users will receive an email with a link to the document you have shared.

OneDrive also allows you to stop sharing files at any time

Open the SHARE DOCUMENT window (2 ways)

Choose “Shared With” from navigation menu

Click next to a user to access drop down menu

Select “Stop Sharing”

Allows for quick access to important files that have been shared with you

From an email select “Follow”

From OneDrive select ellipsis to open menu

• Choose FOLLOW

How can I sync files from OneDrive to

my computer?

to start Sync Wizard

• Sync now

• Choose SkyDrive Pro application

• Sync now

Choose “change” to

select a different

location to save your

synced files

Locate the OneDrive icon in the task bar

Choose STOP SYNCING A FOLDER

You will also have the option to PAUSE SYNCING
