Before You Start• Select appropriate journal (audience)

Guideline ChecklistsARRIVE: Authors submitting research on animal studies are now required to complete an

adapted ARRIVE (Animals in Research: Reporting In Vivo Experiments) checklist at submission.

CONSORT: Authors of manuscripts reporting results of clinical trials are now required to upload

the CONSORT checklist at submission.

STROBE: Authors of manuscripts reporting results of human observational case-control, cohort,

or cross-sectional studies are now required to upload the STROBE checklist at submission.

PRISMA: Authors reporting results of systematic reviews and meta-analyses must provide the

information required by a PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-

Analyses) checklist at submission.

• A succinct and attention-catching title helps attract

citations and social media interest

• Include keywords, optimised for search engines:

think of how your paper will be found, once published

• Keep it short – typically up to 15 words

• Make sure that vital information is included, e.g.

How to measure impact

Introducing Content Sharing

ReadCube Content sharing on Wiley Online Library will facilitate collaboration by

providing authors, the media and researchers with a simple tool for sharing full-text

content and allow non-subscribers to have complimentary access to Wiley content. A

pilot of 180 proprietary titles began in early 2017 and expanded to the full Wiley

Research portfolio in July 2017.

Graphical Abstracts

• Graphical Abstracts are a great way to introduce and expand on your research in a more visual and dynamic way!

• Graphical Abstracts can be uploaded at the time of submission and should include both the image and a short 80-word abstract summarizing the paper’s key findings

• Avoid graphs and other figures with fine

detail due to the relatively small size of

this image.
