generic TLDs a good experience for web users

and site owners


● Make security and abuse prevention a high priority

● Work with all ICANN-accredited registrars

● Work with brand owners to develop sensible rights protection mechanisms that build upon ICANN’s requirements

So we will


● When it comes to open TLDs, Google will work with all accredited registrars.

● We will not give preferential treatment to Google as a registrar with open TLDs.

● We’re focused on making this a smooth experience for web users.

Work with the Internet Community


● Existing global infrastructure can provide fast, reliable, secure and inexpensive registry services

● ICANN requires that the new TLD operators support IPv6, which Google currently supports and actively promotes.

● Abuse prevention policies and procedures designed to create more security and stability for registrars, registrants and Internet users.

● Intellectual property rights protection that builds upon ICANN's required policies
