On the street I saw a girl cold and shivering in a thin dress, with little hope of decent meal. I became very angry and said to God, “Why did you permit this? Why don’t you do something about it?” For a

while, God said nothing. That night he replied quite suddenly: “I certainly did do something about it. I made you.”

GFC News…. We welcome Heidi Schmidt as our Director of Philanthropic Giving. Dr Schmidt has a long history with GFC even volunteering in middle school. She bring varied non-profit experience and enthusiasm to the position which seeks to position GFC on sound financial footing for years to come. GFC brings on new board members this year to lead our clinic in these unsteady times in health care. Coming on the board are Stephanie Eckerle of Plews Shadley Racher and Braun, Sara Johnson of IUPUI, Douglas Kistler of Merrill Lynch, Jane Sweeney of St Vincent and Pam Velo a philanthropic consultant.

Needed now: 1) We are in dire need of 2 nearly new mini vans for each of our HRP facilities. These vehicles are used to transport participants from the hospital to the HRP, to doctor appointments, to recreational activities and when they move into housing. 2) An affordable source or donations of items that are needed by those living outdoors (insect repellent, batteries, lighters, candles, blankets, deodorant and hats/gloves/scarves and socks). 3) Volunteer physicians and dentists—consider asking your own physician/dentist if they might help out at GFC.
