Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai

Dear Colleagues and Guests,

On behalf of AAPI, the participating organizations, and the local Organizing Committee, I invite you to join the Ninth AAPI Global Healthcare Summit 2015, to be held from January 2nd – 4th 2015 at the Trident/Oberoi Nariman Point, Mumbai, India.

Harnessing the power of Indian doctors worldwide, the AAPI Global Healthcare Summit platform has evolved with the support of prominent global and Indian medical associations; including IMA, MCI, ASI, IPS, APA, API, ICON, JCI, AHA, Johns Hopkins and GAPIO.

Senior leaders from leading healthcare organizations such as pharmaceuticals, device and medical equipment manufacturers and major medical teaching instituitons, hospitals and from the Ministries – Health, External/Overseas Affairs and regulatory bodies are collaborating with AAPI with the ultimate goal to provide access to high quality and affordable healthcare to all people of India.

The mission of AAPI is to share the best from leading experts from around the world, to collaborate on clinical challenges, research and development, philanthropy, policy and standards formulation.

Clinical tracks include chronic disease states notably diabetes, cardiovascular, hypertension, COPD, oncology, maternal and infant mortality, and emerging ones - trauma and head injury, transplant and minimally invasive robotic surgeries. An exclusive Healthcare CEO forum brings the healthcare industry perspective, with senior Government officials, both Union and State providing the legislative wisdom. Hands-on workshops provide supervised skill transfer.

In 2015, the Global Health Summit will enhance the meaningful gains so far, and spearhead further initiatives. There will be pre-Summit education, training, panel discussions and the results of such will be presented at the Mumbai event. Actionable plans for knowledge and information gleaned from pre to post- Summit activities will be in place to disseminate to health providers up to District and even Taluka levels utilizing innovative technology by streaming live webcast of the proceedings directly from the GHS venue. Innovation, ethics, standardization, medical tourism and physician recruitment are newer challenges to address.

We anticipate over a thousand delegates, including more than three hundred from USA, UK, Canada, Middle East, Caribbean, and Australia.

AAPI and all participating organizations welcome you to the Global Health Summit 2015 in Mumbai. The experience will be mutually enriching, rewarding, meaningful and unmatched.

With best wishes,

Ravi Jahagirdar, M.D.President AAPI, Chair, Global Health Summit 2015

New Year Extravaganza in the Konkan (Detailed pricing of 3 days and 2 nights, please see website www.aapighsindia.org)

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

After breakfast, morning transfer to Gateway of India. Scenic travel by hovercraft or by speed boat – approximately one hour through the Mumbai deep harbor to the main-land - town of Alibaug. You will go through the fabled and historic shipping channels that has made the financial capital of India, around huge ships and tankers, past the ancient Elephanta Caves of 16th century to reach the idyllic destination of Alibaug.

Arrive at Radisson Blu Hotel. Alibaug. Day at leisure for shopping for handicrafts and curios and antiques.

Note: for those who have booked the Trident / Oberoi before, and later for the Summit, you may choose to leave most of your luggage in the Hotel, until you return from Alibaug

Page 6: GHS Brochure - Sept 22 2014

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Morning tour (optional) of the Konkan coastline – and a visit to Murud for its Janjira (means a fort in the ocean. Historically, Shivaji and the Maratthas under the capable Na-val Commander Kanoji Angre built a chain of such forts along the western India coastline, complete with perennial water supply, to successfully counter the Mughals initially and then the British forces). The Janjira at Murud is one of the best preserved.

New Year’s Dinner and Dance – to usher in 2015 “to chase the hours with flying feet”. There is a potential for a “sighting” of film stars at these places, since they seem to flee the big city on New Year’s Day themselves to a reclusive place like Alibaug - you just never know what you may chance upon.
