Mark 608Gas Pressure Regulators

The MK608 Gas Pressure Regulator is the ideal valvefor low pressure gas regulation. The self-contained lowpressure gas regulator is for use on tank blanketing,gas meter inlet pressure regulating, gas burners andother low pressure air and gas applications.

The MK608 is normally open. Increases in the outletpressure are sensed through the aspirator causing thelarge elastomer diaphragm to rise, which moves the plugtoward the seat. As outlet pressure decreases, the dia-phragm moves down and moves the plug away fromthe seat to increase flow. The lever, which connectsthe stem to the diaphragm, amplifies diaphragm forcesfor tighter shutoff (only available on sizes 3/4” through1-1/4”).

The large diaphragm and lever actuation allows theMK608 to act with higher sensitivity and more amplifiedforces over that of the typical diaphragm/stem connec-tion. High sensitivity is important, as the MK608 oftenworks with very low pressure (down to 1” w.c. or 2,5mbar). This special actuation improves the accuracyand shutoff of the valve - two important benefits in thisstyle of regulator.

The 1-1/2” & 2” size MK608 valves are for useon large tank blanketingapplications or other lowpressure gas regulation.In a tank blanketing ap-plication, the Mark 608is used to control theflow of the blanketinggas into the tank tomaintain the proper posi-tive pressure. Once theblanket has been estab-lished, a small flow ofnitrogen is continually admitted to the tank to keep the blan-ket fresh. These valves are often used in conjunction withJordan’s MK 508 Back Pressure Gas Regulator, used to ventgas from the tank to prevent blanketing pressure from risingto a level that could damage the tank.

The MK608 comes standard with an extra large diaphragm togive set point control as low as 2.0” w.c. (4,98 mbar). Inaddition, the “S” pattern body design allows for high flow ca-pacity and also gives the option of having bubble tight shutoff.
