For More Information:NASA Science for Girl Scouts engages Girl Scouts in NASA planetary and astrophysics science through badges and summer camps, disseminates STEM education-related resources, and fosters interaction between Girl Scouts and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Understanding our place in the solar system and the universe occurs across the Girl Scout levels, as age appropriate. SMEs may serve as role models, or to help girls complete a badge. Girl Scouts live in every zip code and in 91 foreign countries.
SMEs may serve as episodic volunteers, in several ways, such as visiting a troop meeting in person or via remote connection, act as a subject matter expert for a Girl Scout Astronomy Club, share their expertise and passion during adult training, family STEM events, Star Parties or International Observe the Moon Nights (IOMN).
SMEs may also invite council representatives to their facility for a tour and orientation. [See councils and clubs on map above]
SMEs may also support girls in achieving the Girl Scout STEM Outcomes at camp settings across the US.
