"Give, and it will be given to you:good measure, pressed down, shakentogether, and running over will be putinto your bosom. For with the samemeasure that you use, it will bemeasured back to you."
THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE
JESUS STATED A DIVINE PRINCIPLE
TO RECEIVE. HE SAID :
"Give, and it will be given to you”
That is GIVE and you will RECEIVE
THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE
THE ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY TO RECEIVE AFTER YOU HAVE GIVEN
“Give, and it will be given to you”
A FACT ABOUT GIVING
GIVING IS LIKE THROWING SOMETHING IN THE AIR.
IT WILL COME BACK!!!
A FACT ABOUT GIVING
GIVING IS LIKE AN INVESTMENT FOR THE GIVER
IT WILL BRING RETURNS
GIVING TO GOD
A GIVER TO GOD CAN NOT LOOSE.GIVING TO GOD IS AN INVESTMENT WITH NO RISK.
Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thievesbreak in and steal; but lay up for yourselvestreasures in heaven, where neither moth norrust destroys and where thieves do not break inand steal.”
GIVING TO GOD: A GOOD & FREE INITIATIVE
GIVING TO GOD IS A FREE AND GOOD INITIATIVE
GIVING TO GOD FLOWS OUT OF LOVE.
NOBODY TEACHES ANYONE TO GIVE.
THE MORE A PERSON IS CONNECTED TO GOD THE MORE HE WILL BE
MOVED TO GIVE
GIVING TO GOD: A GOOD & FREE INITIATIVE
THE EXAMPLE OF CAIN AND ABEL
Genesis 4“2 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel.
Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tillerof the ground.3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cainbrought an offering of the fruit of the ground to theLORD.4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and oftheir fat. And the LORD respected Abel and hisoffering”
GIVING TO GOD: A GOOD & FREE INITIATIVE
THE EXAMPLE OF CAIN AND ABEL:
THEIR PERSONAL INITIATIVE
THE BIBLE DOES NOT TELL US WHO TAUGHT THEM TO GIVE TO GOD.
GIVING TO GOD: A GOOD & FREE INITIATIVE
THE EXAMPLE OF THE MACEDONIANS
3 For they gave according to their means, as I cantestify, and beyond their means, of their ownfree will,4 begging us earnestly for the favor of taking partin the relief of the saints--5 and this, not as we expected, but first theygave themselves to the Lord and to us by the willof God.
SOMETHING DEEP ABOUT GIVING
WHY JESUS DID NOT STOP THE POOR WIDOW FROM GIVING ALL SHE HAD?!?
41 And he sat down opposite the treasury, andwatched the multitude putting money into thetreasury. Many rich people put in large sums.42 And a poor widow came, and put in twocopper coins, which make a penny.44 For they all contributed out of theirabundance; but she out of her poverty has put ineverything she had, her whole living."
SOMETHING DEEP ABOUT GIVING
WHY JESUS DID NOT STOP THE POOR WIDOW FROM GIVING ALL SHE HAD?!?
SHE WAS DOING THE LAST THING SHE COULD DO TO CHANGEHER POOR CONDITION.
SHE WAS INVESTING FOR HERSELF WHAT WILL SURELY BRINGHER A REWARD.
SHE HAD UNDERSTOOD THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE OF GIVING TORECEIVE
SHE WAS BEING OBEDIENT AND JESUS COULD NOT STOP HER.
AFTER USING THOSE TWO COINS FOR HERSELF SHE WOULDHAVE BEEN POORER FOREVER.
SOMETHING DEEP ABOUT GIVING
THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE
YOU MUST GIVE TO RECEIVE
1st APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE:JESUS FEEDS FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE
15 When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is alonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to gointo the villages and buy food for themselves."16 Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something toeat."17 They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish."18 And he said, "Bring them here to me."19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and takingthe five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gavethem to the crowds.20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelvebaskets full of the broken pieces left over.21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besideswomen and children.
APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE:JESUS FEEDS FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE
WHY DID HE NOT JUST COMMANDLOAVES OF BREAD AND FISH TOAPPEAR?
WHY DID HE ASK THEM TO GIVE HIMWHAT THEY HAD?
HE NEEDED THEM TO GIVE HIMSOMETHING THAT HE COULD BLESS ANDGIVE BACK THEM.
2nd APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE:JESUS FEEDS FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE
32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassionon the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, andhave nothing to eat; and I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lestthey faint on the way."33 And the disciples said to him, "Where are we to get bread enough inthe desert to feed so great a crowd?"34 And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves have you?" They said,"Seven, and a few small fish."35 And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground,36 he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks hebroke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave themto the crowds.37 And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven basketsfull of the broken pieces left over.38 Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women andchildren.
2nd APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE:JESUS FEEDS FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE
THE LORD WAS COMPASSIONATE ABOUT THEM, HE WANTED TO BLESS THEM BUT THE PRINCIPLE HAD TO BE APPLIED .
THEY HAD TO GIVE SOMETHING.
32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I havecompassion on the crowd, because they have been with menow three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am unwilling tosend them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."33 And the disciples said to him, "Where are we to get breadenough in the desert to feed so great a crowd?"34 And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves have you?" Theysaid, "Seven, and a few small fish."
2nd APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE:JESUS FEEDS FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE
JESUS TOOK THEM, BLESSED THEM AND GAVE BACK TO THEM AS USUAL.
34 And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves have you?" Theysaid, "Seven, and a few small fish."35 And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground,36 he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having giventhanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and thedisciples gave them to the crowds.
