WELCOME

January 2018

DEAR CHAMBER MEMBERS AND FRIENDS,

Each year, we fi nd it helpful to review our purpose as a local chamber of

commerce, as described in our by-laws:

The Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (GKCC) is organized to

advance the commercial, industrial, educational, cultural, recreational

and general welfare of Keene and the surrounding area.

And each year, the description of our purpose seems relevant — broad enough

to capture lots of activity, and specifi c enough to remind us that our purpose

may be as simple as improving the quality of life in our region.

As the cover of this year’s report shows, GKCC’s work is expressed in three

broad areas: Programs, Issues and Information. We’ve provided both Programs

and Information for many years. Recently, we have developed a Regional

Issues Series to focus on public policy concerns, in order to make our part of

the world an even better place to visit, live, learn, work and play. On behalf of

our members, and the broader community, we are paying attention to these

issues, bringing awareness to their importance, informing and educating our

stakeholders about them, and being a voice at the table.

Thank you very much for your support. As a membership organization,

GKCC depends on you to succeed. We welcome your thoughts, input and

participation at any time. Without you, we don’t exist; this is your Chamber.

Sincerely,

Phil Suter Tim Murphy President/CEO Board Chair

Sincerely,
