Start with a simple mechanism that invites

contributions from all ages and abilities:

Such as these identical small disks distributed in advance to

local households, GP surgeries, nurseries, community

centres – or via reading bags to schools, or at the event….

Blank seed packets allow

participants to describe their

favourite plants or imagined

ones, such as money trees!

Giant jigsaw puzzles are an

effective way to get

everyone collaborating. Pre-

cut blanks and paint are

distributed to local

communities and brought

back to the event completed

with an image to represent

their neighbourhood. Joining

the pieces together is an

event in itself.

Use bamboo poles or branches from the park to create a

Take wool to the next level by making a knitted tree to hang

ever growing collage or use leaves and bark to

make prints or rubbings.

Concrete and tarmac can also act as exciting canvases

buckets of water and brushes can create fleeting designs.

Make the most of playing fields and grassy areas by creating

impressive, interactive installations which reveal the

natural history of the park and share knowledge about plants.

regeneration

Take advantage of

unique spaces by

experimenting with

different ways of

installing and

displaying work made

at each event.

Invite ideas for the Palm

House’s regeneration.

Perhaps offer a stained glass
