Grad 90 Gives Back
On Wednesday December 12 Grad 90 stu-
dents and staff participated in a volunteer
opportunity at Ronald McDonald House
Charities of the Capital Region. The
Ronald McDonald House is a home away
from home for children with illnesses and
their families. RMHC provides housing and support for those in need while their
children are at being cared for by Albany Medical Center doctors and care
teams. RMHC runs on the support and donations of the community and those
who volunteer their time.
Pictured is a group of culinary students who planned and executed breakfast for
35 guests of the house. These young men and women took such pride in prep-
ping a thoughtful and balanced meal and staying to serve for the families.
CTS staff brought a group of Grad 90 students who are ready to graduate our
program to give back to those in need. The afternoon group helped with tasks
around the house such as organizing donations of Christmas gifts, cleaning areas
to ensure they are sterile, baking treats for the families and some wrapping.
The sense of pride which was displayed by each
of these young men and women was heart
warming. They were so happy to be at the house
and surrounding themselves with those who
needed some extra love and support this holiday
season.

Kenric Herring, a lifelong resident of New
York State, was chosen as Glenmont’s
Student of the Week for making major im-
provements in academics. Mr. Herring has
excellent attendance, is in class on time
and ready to go every day! Kenric has al-
so been attending night tutoring and said
that after doing math day in and day out
that everything just started clicking ena-
bling him to hit a 12.9 in math! He is cur-
rently working towards a 12.9 in reading
so that after he finishes his trade he will
be able to participate in the AT Solar pro-
gram on campus.
Mr. Herring heard about Glenmont Job
Corps Center (GJCC) from friends of friends and was pleasantly surprised when he arrived on
campus to find that he already knew a couple of other students that were here from his
hometown. Not doing much with is life before arriving at GJCC he said that doing the same
thing every day was getting monotonous and he wasn’t seeing a future, he was seeing a dead
end road which made him realize that he had to and wanted to do something with his life. He
appreciates the fact that he is able to learn a trade while also being able to complete his educa-
tion. Kenric also likes the independence factor on campus which he attributes to aiding him in
gaining more maturity, understanding the fact that he is personally responsible for everything
he does but yet has the structure, routine, encouragement and support from staff to reach his
goals and succeed. Kenric wants to pursue the FM program while here, having done some prior
construction work and eventually would like to move into the AT Solar program at Glenmont,
wanting to stay in the area where he has family.
Having been working so hard on his studies Mr. Herring has not participated in recreation ac-
tivities yet but does enjoy nature, running and swimming so he intends on doing more of these
activities once his schedule frees up a little. Academic Manger Ms. Popow added to her nomi-
nation comments that Kenric is an excellent student who has a great work ethic and will suc-
ceed at whatever he sets his mind to!
Congratulations Mr. Herring on being named Student of the Week! Keep up the good work!

Each month comes with a theme for TABE gains at
Glenmont! Pictured are students enjoying a feast
served by their TABE instructors. All students that
achieved a grade level gain were invited to partake
in the feast. There were over 35 invitations sent
out! The Academic team looks forward to planning
future events to
get our students
motivated in in-
creasing TABE
performance.

Throughout the month of December the
staff at Glenmont Job Corps have been in-
volved in various activities with students
in celebration of the holiday season. Ac-
tivities have included office door decorat-
ing, a staff cookie bake off, crafts nights
and decorating the campus, recreation
center and dorms with more to come!
This time of year can be difficult for some
individuals so staff work extra hard to
help bring holiday cheer to all!

Ms. Stickler's art club is in full holiday spirits! This project involved
wooden planter pots with a Christmas holiday theme. Students used their
creativity and designed some pretty amazing reindeer while others created
fun chimneys and snowflakes. As always, everyone had a lot of fun with
laughter and music. Come join us and show everyone how creative you
truly are. Limited supplies and seats so come on time. See you there!

ADAMS AND ASSOCIATES, INC. EMPLOYEE
HOTLINE
Adams and Associates, Inc. is committed to providing a forum
for employees to express concerns. The most effective way to
do this is to utilize the local chain of command or Human Re-
sources Department. However, there may be times when an em-
ployee has exhausted the local chain of command or is not com-
fortable expressing concerns at the local level and wishes to
have them heard at the Corporate level. An Employee Hotline
has been established to provide intake, investigation and resolu-
tion of concerns elevated to the Corporate Office.
