INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL FUNDINGThe USF World Faculty Travel Mobility Grant Program supports the research and creative goals of USF System faculty with international partner institutions. International Travel Grants sponsored by USF Research & Innovation are designed to support faculty attending major professional meetings and conferences outside the United States.
Numerous federal and international funding sources are available for USF faculty, from non-profits to the U.S. Department of State. A robust list is available at www.usf.edu/world/resources.

FACULTY FULBRIGHT AWARDSThe Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the U.S. and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills.

FULBRIGHT AWARDS ARE NOW FLEXIBLEThe Fulbright Program offers different types of awards for early to advanced career faculty. More than 800 Fulbright research and teaching awards are available each year. Depending upon the award, faculty spend two to twelve months in one or more locations under the Core Program. Faculty selected as Fulbright Specialists spend two to six weeks abroad sharing skills and expertise. Explore the full range of awards at www.cies.org.

VISITING SCHOLAR SPONSORSHIPThe J-1 Exchange Visitor Program brings qualified international faculty, researchers, specialists and other professionals to the
United States to participate in educational and cultural programs. Qualified international scholars may
apply to the Fulbright Program for support while in the U.S.
Cooperation is essential for promoting and sustaining an active international research portfolio, and sponsoring a J-1 Scholar in your department or laboratory can be a great way to engage with foreign institutions, internationalize your research and curriculum, form valuable research connections, and mutually share knowledge.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL COUNTRY GUIDESUSF World is your resource for information and services necessary for a safe and productive international travel experience. Country and city guides contain helpful information including local history, culture, cuisine, key language phrases, financial customs, expense calculations and more. EMERGENCY AND EVACUATION INSURANCERegister your travel with the University Related Travel Registration Program. Doing so will enroll you in USF’s Emergency Medical and Evacuation Insurance, a comprehensive plan that offers 100% reimbursement for medical expenses abroad including medical evacuation and evacuation for political unrest or natural disaster. Information can be found at www.usf.edu/world/resources/travel-services.aspx.
INTERNATIONAL RISK AND SECURITY OFFICERBen Chamberlain provides support to students, faculty and staff participating in university sponsored programs, activities or other USF affiliated travel. Faculty may request a risk and security review by contacting Ben at [email protected]. USF World manages a 24/7 International Assistance Line at (813) 317-5815 and an Emergency Assistance Email at [email protected].

SMALL EVENT FUNDINGUSF World offers contributing funds up to $1,000 to support select faculty-directed events across the USF System. Event fund requests are competitively reviewed and must demonstrate that the proposed activity is international in focus, research/scholarship related, and promotes global awareness and engagement within the USF community. Appropriate events include: invited speakers, exhibitions, oral or poster presentations, seminars, symposia, conferences, or workshops.
