Indo-American Chamber of Commerce honours Hewlett Packard as the Overall Best Company at 7th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards (I-ACE)
Mumbai, 1stJuly, 2011: The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), the only bi-lateral Chamber of Commerce in India, formally honored Hewlett Packard (HP) India Ltd., as the Overall Best US
Company in India at the 7th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards (I-ACE) held at Hotel Trident, Nariman Point in Mumbai also commemorating the American Independence Day. The chief guest at the
event was Mr.ShashiRuia, Chairman, Essar Group. The event witnessed the creme da la crème of
India and U.S‟ Corporate and entertainment world commemorating the American Independence Day.
The opening welcome remark was provided by Mr. Pradeep Udhas, Regional
President, IACC, WIC followed by an addressing note by Mr.ShashiRuia,
Chairman, Essar Group.
Dr.L.S.Kanodia, Chairman, I-ACE Awards while introducing the awards
said, “Both India and U.S play a significant role in today‟s global arena. In this regard, IACC has played a fundamental role to promote and strengthen
Indo-US trade and business relationships for over 40 years. Through
continued trade and investment between businesses and entrepreneurs,
and through improved collaboration and coordination between our
governments, we will address many
common challenges and achieve shared goals, ultimately leading to improved
economic well- being for the citizens of both countries.”
Neelam Dhawan, Managing Director, Hewlett Packard India on being awarded as the Overall Best Company commented, “Recognizing HP
as the best U.S Company in India for 2011 is a wonderful testimony to the hard work and contributions made by our employees and the support and
trust we have received from our customers and partners. The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce is the premier organization contributing to

Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra took the opportunity to comment on the
Indo-US relations. He said, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Americans on their Independence Day that IACC is celebrating today. India
and U.S have wonderful relations as far as films are concerned. Bollywood has
always been inspired by Hollywood. In India, not only films but every aspect of the entertainment industry is making a mark in the world today. Very soon India
will celebrate 100 years of film making in India”.
On the occasion, Mr. David Tyler, Chief-US Consular Section said, the relationship between two
nations is stronger and deeper than it has ever been. As we observe American Independence day today, we
celebrate the shared values of both the economies. Tonight we are here to recognize the companies for
the work they have done in contributing to both the
economies. They have done a great job in terms of providing jobs, which in turn provides income to the
families and the education for their children.”
The event had a high-profile guest list comprising of well-known personalities like
Yash Chopra, AlyquePadamsee, Gulshan
Grover, ShamaSikander, and various industrialists, business leaders, members from
the U.S Consulate, and IACC members. Performances by stand-up comedian Adnan
Nalwala and Jugalbandi from music maestros MukulDongre and SatyajitTalwalkar, kept the
audience captivated with the proceedings of
the evening.
