Director’s MessageKGIC’s 2010 Summer Camp, “Global Leaders”, was a great success thanks to the wonderful students and teachers that participated. In the class, students had the opportunity to study English and learn what it takes to be a leader in society. One of the best parts of KGIC’s summer camp is the after school activities and field trips. This year, students enjoyed trips to science world, the waterslides, and an overnight camping trip. They also had the opportunity to visit the museum and go hiking at Grouse Mountain. Canada is famous for its beautiful mountains, lakes, and forests, and our students always love experiencing Canada’s beauty. Life with the homestay families was also a wonderful way for students to learn about Canadian culture and practice speaking English with Canadians. We hope that this summer was full of fun and learning and that each one of you returned home with great memories of your time in Canada. Hope to see you next year!

My First Experience about Food in Canada

Rick

In Korea, I only eat rice and kimchi 3 times a day and most Koreans

probably eat like me. But in Canada, everything is different when I

ate in Korea. Most Canadians eat a piece of bread or cereal 3 times

a day instead of rice. For example, I ate French toast and cereal

in the morning, sandwich in the afternoon, and a piece of bread in

the afternoon. Yesterday is a special day or weekend. They eat

spaghetti or pizza and they eat hot dog or snack between meals, so

I know that the most of Canadian foods are made of wheat after I

came to Canada.

Sometimes, it is to hard to adapt to Canadian foods which are

made of wheat and butter, because in Korea, we eat vegetables a lot

which are not to oily. So I haven’t gone to the bathroom since I were

in Canada. I just miss my country so much. I am dying for kimchi and

rice.

My first impression is very good because this is very clean place but there are no people in the street. My mommy that lives in Canada is very kind. All is very very good!

This summer is very very hot! So I’m going to the sea with my friends. This sea is called Dong hoe. And I’m also going to Canada.

Canada is very beautiful. I love Canada more than Korea because Korea is dirty and you have to study very hard. So I’m stressed but Canada is clean and fun to study. If I have a chance, I will marry a westerner.

My First Impressions of CanadaKwan Jin Keong

It is my first visit here. In the beginning I throb and exited but I felt fear because I don’t speak English. My homestay family is Luk, Lana, Trina, and Branden. Luk is Lana’s husband. He is very funny and skillful at jokes. Lana’s job is hairdresser. She is very fashionable. Trina is 12 years old and she is cute. I think she loves to eat food.

When I first arrived at Canada I felt “wow, this is so nice.” Everything in Canada was nice and wonderful to me. After I arrived at school I waited for my Canadian homestay. I finally met her. Her name was Caren and she was so kind to me and my roommate.We liked her and her family was so nice to us. Her house in sunstone was so beautiful and nice inside. There’s a building called sunstone club. In there we swam with her daughter, sons and some neighbors. We had a fun time-dinner was little bit hard to eat for us but it was nice.

After that we took a bath then we fell on deep sleep.I think Canada is a nice country.

Coming to Canada is very, very not happy. I want to go to Korea. Because at night not sleep and school finish and sleep. And I’m very sad because I want see my family . Airplane is not funny and not scared. But airplane is very very boring. But airplane give food is very delicious. And airplane movie is funny.

My First Impressions of CanadaPark, Sung hee

When I sat down at seat of airplane it’s very exciting. But I was so tired of sitting for so long. After arriving at Canada I met homestay family. They were a little old but really brisk. I ate pasta for dinner. It’s a disagreeable food. I didn’t want to eat but I couldn’t disregard their kindness. I don’t want to eat it again.

In homestay home, there was a large dog, two cats, and caged rats. The dog really likes people. It greeted me.

I was nervous because I don’t want to go to Canada. But when I saw

my homestay’s people, I’m little excited. When I was met Lorna (A

host) she has very kind face. So I feel thanks to her. Lorna have many

grandchildren named Elicia, Kaitlin and Dedin. I think she have more but

Japan, but she is very quilt. I think when time passes,

we will be good friends.

In my host family, there are 4 people. I have a mother, father, 2 sister, and 2 dogs. Last night I ate chicken. Today I have a sandwich and an apple for lunch. My host family is very kind. They introduced themselves to me.

My host mother’s name is Nicole. Nicole is 33 years old. My host father’s name is Tim. Tim is 34 years old. One of my host sister’s names is Abby, and she is 6 years old. The other host sister is Anna. Anna is 3 years old.

My WeekendAnna-Lee Won Joo

My weekend was kind of sad because while shopping, I had a stomachache and head ache. So I threw up and went home. I was so bored but I played with Abby and Anny. They are my cute little sister in my homestay. My roommate came home at 9: 40, because she played with others but I used computer because I needed to check my email and my face book. I don’t like to use computer but yesterday, I have to use computer very much because I was so bored. After dinner, I went to H-Mart to buy some Korean food with my homestay mom. We bought some Korean food so we can all enjoy it. My homestay mom is kind because she bought me a lot of Korean food. We will go shopping again on Friday and I am waiting for that day. I love Canada shopping mall.

Since I arrived in Canada, I’ve been staying with

my host family. There are tow Japanese students

and tow Korean students. Our host family is very

kind to us. I said “ mama, I want to go shopping!”

and she took us to a shopping mall. I said to her “

I want to go to a supermarket!” and she took us

there. She is so nice.

At first, I got homesick and was very gloomy,

but now I am happy with my host family. So I’m

enjoying myself to stay in Canada now!

My Second FamilySeo Sang Eun

How exciting! Hope my homestay family is nice. This is what I thought when I heard we were going to meet our homestay family. I experienced it when I stayed in America for a short time. But it was too shout- about 3 days- and one of the family members taught me English when she was in Korea and we have contacted each other by using facebook and email. However, things are changed. I have to stay here for 2 weeks and I didn’t know who would be my homestay family. With all the worries, I arrived in Canada and met my homestay family! They are very nice. One day, I don’t remember the exact date, Eva told us that we are her daughters and think her house as ours. I was so impressed. Besides, she made rice for breakfast and bought “ddokbokgi” for us in Hannam. We made kim-bob last night and shared with Eva, her husband, daughter and grandsons. They liked it very much. I just feel sorry that I can not talk a lot because of my poor English. If I could speak English better, I could not make her bored. I really thank them so much. After I get back to Korea, I am sure I’ll miss them a lot.

P.S. in addition, Eva’s mom is so nice to us too. Thank you so much.

HomestayKim Tae Hyun

My homestay family’s names are Christine, Gregg,

Michael, the son and two dogs Rascal and Rusty.

Christine cooks very well. I like her food. Gregg works

outside. Michael is on a soccer team. He went back

home yesterday. He is very tall. Rusty is a very big

dog but he is only 2 years old. Rascal is very small

but she is 11 years old!

My Homestay FamilyJang Ji Hye

Sanf Eun and I stay together. We were chosen to stay in a Pilipino family. There are three who live with us and one more who lives just next room. Host parents’ names are Ed and Eva. Ed is maybe a Canadian and Eva is from the Philippines. And grandmother. She is Eva’s mother. The one who lives another house is Eta. She told us to call Eta but we don’t know that spells. She is Eva’s cousin. But they just look like sisters because they are from Philippines. They don’t pronounce well but they are really kind. They really do try hard to make us feel comfortable. Just yesterday, Eva’s daughter came. She has two sons. It means that Eva is already a grand mother! I was surprised. Yesterday, we made Kpmbap.(it’s just like sushi). We went to the Korean market and bought the ingredients. I was happy because they loved it.

It is a little far from school. So we need to get up early in the morning. I think my homestay family is great.

Yesterday, I woke up at 8:30 and then I had breakfast. For breakfast, I had bread, eggs and sausages. I went to church with my friends and my host family. After that, I went to the elementary school. On Sunday, I went out with my host family. We left our house at eleven o’clock a.m. and went to church. We attended mass. Then we headed toward school, eating lunch in the car. My host family was celebrating the mass in the school too. My friends and I were listening to it for almost three hours. Then we went to Robson Street. We ate dinner at Donburings. There were many Japanese food. I ate “Mabo tofu don” It was very hot, but it was very delicious. After all I love Japanese food. After we bought some souvenirs at the gift center, we went home. Yesterday was a very nice day.

Now, I am writing about my homestay family. First, my home stay dad’s name is Michael Rich. He is so kind to me and my roommate.

My homestay mother is Julie Rich. She is kind to me and my roommate too. She gives us delicious food. My homestay parents are teachers. And they always drive me around so I am thankful for them.

My homestay parents have 2 sons. The first son’s name is Anthony. He is eight years old. His hobby is playing sports. He also like to watch TV. And then the second son’s name is Joel. He is cute. He always laughs. He also likes to watch TV. And his hobby is playing sports too. I think that my homestay family is so nice. So I make efferts to be good for my them.

I ate cereal yesterday morning. I ate hot dog for lunch yesterday. I ate curry for dinner yesterday. I ate ice cream for dessert yesterday. I ate bread and egg this morning. I will eat a bagel today for lunch. I used the computer yesterday at 7:00 pm. I used the telephone yesterday at 10:00 to talk with my parents.

My homestay family has five people. In the beginning, my homestay seemed very scary. My roommate is very nice, she speaks English very well. Her mane is So Jung. She helps me. My homestay mother likes music and dance. In the morning, with my homestay mother, we sing a song. So Jung and I feel very happy.

My home stay family members are Camella and her puppy.

Camella is single. She is 58 years old but she has a young face.

Her character is affirmative and she smiles all day. She is very

kind. Her cooking is very good. Yesterday, she made spaghetti

and meatballs. She is an Italian so the spaghetti and meatballs

tasted good. She has a lovely puppy. Her puppy’s name is Nio.

Nio is 7 years old. Nio’s favorite food is chicken so when we eat

dinner, Camella puts in chicken for Nio, and Nio comes and begs.

Nio likes kisses, he kisses everybody.

My homestay family is very active. So today we will go swimming

with 2 puppies, camella, 3 sisters and me.

Chris is a very kind boy and handsome boy but

he is a little bad because he teaches me bad

language. But he is friendly to me, so I like him.

My homestay family is very good because they

are kind. Mackella is very funny and pretty so

I like her. My homestay mom’s name is Mitra.

She is so cool and my grandmother is good

too. So I am very happy.

Yesterday, we went shopping. We arrived there in time for lunch. We went to vurger king. We met my homestay mom’s friend. She has a girl. Her name is Ela. She is 5 years old. She looks like a doll. She is very cute. But we can’t get very close. I wish we could though. We shopped up and down after finished lunch. We wanted free time but the homestay mom followed us. So we couldn’t look around enough.

Meaghan and RyanJi Yun KoMeaghan is my new friend. She is very kind and very cute. She is also a pretty girl. She lives in Delta. She is 10 years old. Her brother’s name is Ryan. He is very handsome. He is 12 years old. Meaghan and Ryan like kimchi. I like kimchi too. Kimchi is very spicy. Meaghan and Ryan are good friends to me.

When I woke up at 9:37 am, I was surprised. Because I usually wake up at7 o’clock am. So we ate pancakes for brunch. Brian made pancake. Some pancakes are burnt but they are so sweet. After brunch, I was curious about the Sunday plan. So I asked Susan, ‘What will we do today?’ Susan said, ‘No plan. What will you want to do?’ I want to go shopping, so does my roommate too. So we said ‘We want to go shopping’

Then Susan took us to the Old Navy store. Susan promised to pick us up at 5 o’clock pm so we shopped for 3 hours. It was very exciting!! The store is so big and we got lost. But we asked people and then found the clothes shop. I bought a jacket, a cute T-shirt, and I also bought a doll and jelly for my little sister when I get home. We were tired.

On Sunday, I went shopping with my roommate. Whenever I went shopping in the mall, I met my friends. We walked to the mall and into the department stores. I found beautiful clothes. I tried on theclothe. I watched declaration of value and finally I bought the clothe. We looked around the shops and then we went to the accessories shop. I bought a hair band. And I also bought a T-shirts. I spent lots of money that day. So I am sad but also happy cause every time when I open the gift bags I feel happy.

Yesterday, we moved into Maggi’s house. I’m very sad and also happy at the same time, because Maggi’s house is very nice. The games in her house are very good. She is a good cook. She makes delicious food. I love food. I eat dinner at 6:30 pm and we talk about homestay. I slept at 8:30 pm. The bed is very soft.

I think my homestay family is kind. There was fish, and a bird. Litlle homestay brother can fix cars. And homestay mother and father were very kind. Big homestay brother was grow fish. First we come to Canada, we can’t slept. But nowadays we can sleep well. My home was big and they have big park. In the house, there was a Spain student. Spain student was kind too. I will spend good time for homestay family.

There are 6 people and a little cute dog in my homestay family. They are kind and friendly. Every day, our homestay mother takes my brother and I to many places. Yesterday, we went to a bug park to play soccer. I have a lot of fun there. She can make very yummy dinner for us. I love my dinner. I didn’t see my homestay father until next morning. Last night, I ate dinner with homestay family and we went to the park to play soccer. It was very good. My homestay family is very good at soccer. After we played soccer, we went to the market and bought some juice, water, jello, soy milk and ham. We went home after we go to the market.

What I want to be when I grow upJane- Ye Ji

When I was young, I wanted to be a fashion designer. But I think I’m not good at doing needlework. So I changed my goal.Now, I want to be a broadcasting director because I want to make a Varity of programs. After school, I always watch a variety of programs and sitcoms or a documentary. I grew up watching many kinds of programs. Sometimes I became interested in how to make the program. I thought it is good.

To be a produce director, I have to study society, but I’m not good at studying politics. So I’m worried about that…..But I really want to be a PD. If I become a PD, I will change the politics of broadcasting station’s relation. Now, broadcasting relations are strange for influencing flights. So I want to be PD.

First Day of SchoolMatthew

Today was first day of school in Canada. My teacher is Angela. We go to cafeteria at 12 o’clock and I ate lunch there. There is a banana, cookie, toast, muffin and juice. It was so delicious. Then I go back to room 102. That is a computer room. I spent time writing email to my Dad. I saw star craft 2 beta is open and I went to play star craft 2 beta quickly.

Where I See Myself

Hmm.. Let me see.. I see myself in many different

places but I want to settle down in New Zeeland or

in Canada or maybe in Australia too. I want to have

a big house with a huge back and front yards and I

never want to live in apartment because they don’t

allow any animals. So I want to live in a house with

lots of wild animals and pets. I want to work as a vet,

animator, and interior designer or graphic designer.

But I think in order to be a vet, it required a lot of

study and hard working.

This summer, I had holiday with my family. We went to the Je-Ju Island. We played games, swam, did sight seeing and ate delicious food. I went to camp in Canada. I was excited. I met many teachers and friends. Canada and Korea are different. And I have a homestay. Homestay family was very kind. Maybe this winter, I will go to Australia or New Zeeland.

My Dream SchoolKim, Moom, Ki

My dream school is a sport school. We have to attend school at 7:00 in the morning. We can eat breakfast at school and we can pack our breakfast or school will make an offer to us. After breakfast, we are free for 30 minutes. During 30 minutes, we can choose what we want for anything, but it has to include five hours for any sports, two hours for sleeping in the school, lunch time and one hour for free times.

We have to collect special points. If we have more than two points in any ball game except volleyball or something like we can make more than 30 points in one game, then they got 10 special points. If they get new record, they can get 20 special points. If we get more than 1000 points in a year, they get special present. In my dream school, we have to study three times at a week. So they don’t be come silly.

I would love it if there is dream school. What did I said? But I’m certain that we don’t have school right.

What I Have Learned in CanadaLaura Patricia, Amador Rosas

This is the first time that I came to Canada so in this trip, I’ve learned a lot. In the school, what I learned the most was about the different cultures that came to study, there are people of Canada, China, Taiwan, Korea. So I’ve learned fo them some things. About the language I have learned many words, some in the school and some in my homestay.

In the Canadian culture, I’ve learned many things:

-History, when we went to the Burnaby Village. I saw how was the life in Canada in the past, it was interesting.

-Food: I think that the only things that I ate , I am not sure, were the bagels. They were good. I like them

-Multi-culture: on thing that surprised me and that I found interesting was the different that were living here. There are so many in my country you don’t normally see that.

-Money and ways of doing things.

I can say that I’ve learned a lot about Canada and I wish I can come back in the future.

Hi, my name is Jong Hyun Yu. I am 18 years old. I like every sport, I especially like soccer, because if you play soccer, one soccer team will have great teamwork and one mind. As soccer is a great game. So I make a soccer group with my friends, and every Sunday, I played soccer with other groups and I have a good time.

Vancouver City TourTony-Xiao, Qing Kun

Yesterday, we visited some famous places in Vancouver. At 11:45, we got on a bus. The first place was China Town. I felt very close to the town because I’m a Chinese. The Chinese stores are the same as Chinas’. Then we went to Gastown. We looked at the steam clock and did some shopping. When we finished shopping, a friendly foreigner came to us and said hello to us. She’s a beautiful woman and we took a photo to remember. The third place we went to is Canada Place. We saw the Cruise and then went to see the torch of Olympics.

In the world, there are a lot of cities which are clean and beautiful. Among all those, Vancouver became the best city to live. Do you think Vancouver is the best city to like? Yes, it is. First, the weather in Vancouver is great to live in. It has 4 seasons and not too cold, not to hot. So compared to other cities, it has great weather. Second, cleanness. Vancouver is so clean. Yesterday, I went on the Vancouver City Trip. First, I went to China town. In China Town, I saw many Chinese people and Chinese stores. So I felt sad because I didn’t go to Korea town. And we went to Gastown. There was a steam clock. The steam clock would sing a song with steam. I was very surprised. After the steam clock, we went shopping. In the gift store, I saw many maple syrup and many maple cookies. I wanted to buy the maple cookies but I also wanted to save money. So I didn’t buy them. I was very sad. Then I went to Canada Place. I saw a cruise. It was very very wonderful, and was very amazed. I also saw the Olympics torch. The torch was very wonderful and big. I took a picture there. After taking a picture, we went to Stanly Park. In Stanly Park, I saw totem poles with my friend Grace and Helen. Totem poles are very beautiful and great. And we et the ice cream. The day before yesterday, we went to the Grouse Mountain. We went upstairs in a big box. In it we enjoy the beautiful thinks in Canada. We saw bears and wolves. They’re dangerous but we loved watching them. They were interesting. We saw some old people dance and sing around a fire and then we saw John’s acting. He climbed to a tree and jumped down. He cut the tree and rowed throw the ax to the wood. Then he jumped into a river and ten minutes later he climb out. All people smiled and felt happy. At last we went to a cinema and saw a I Max. It’s good and exciting. It shows a bird fly around Canada. We enjoyed it. Yesterday, I sleep until eleven o’clock. Then we have breakfast and lunch. Then we slept to five and go to swim. My swimming clothes are dirty so I can’t swim. I take some photos with them. We had a good time here. We enjoy ourselves in Canada. We all have a great time and we will go home soon. I want to come here again when I grow bigger.

Yesterday, we went to the Playland (an amusement park) and had an adventure. First, I went to play some games with Hidemaro (a Japanese student, 13 years old, my friend). The games are interesting. Then, we went to the Haunted House and stood in front of the House’s door. “Let’s enter the Haunted House! I think it will be very exciting!”, I said. He felt fear and said: “No, you can enter by yourself.” I didn’t have any idea, so I paid about 5 dollars and entered the Haunted House by myself. This was a house in 19 Century. The house had three floors. I felt fear because I saw many horrible ghosts and human skeletons. How a horrible house it is! Then, I went to play “pirate ship” for four times with Danny Chi (a Chinese student, 13 years old, my friend). I felt very excited and interested. We went to play the “Musical Express” and a turntable. I felt it is the most happy day in Canada.

Playland.Alex-Kim Yong Hee

In playland I rode on lots of rides. One of my favorite rides

was the wooden coaster because not only it was fast but

the seat belt was loose so I felt more G-force and the

speed of the train better that the other ones. Also riding

the wooden coaster, I get in trouble for standing up while

I was on the ride. Most of the rides were small and boring.

But there was this one ride that went straight up to the

sky and just come back down. That ride was fun and gave

the view to look around the while playland. After riding

most of the fun looking rides, we ate lunch. Jay and I had

ramen for lunch but we didn’t have enough hot water to

eat it so we found a shop that sold pizza. We bought four

chicken-bites and fries with dipping. After eating the

chicken we took out our ramen and inraw. We ate it with

the sause on it. We ate those ramen with pride. Then we

ate cotton candy and went to ride on other rides. Every

ride looked boring. We found the ferris wheel later on the

line was long so we didn’t wanted to wait for the line and

headed for the coaster. When we were on our way to the

coaster we met our formal group. After rejoining the group

we all went and rode the red looking coaster. But the

coaster wasn’t good as we expected after with regrets we

decided to go on the wooden coaster and we did. It was fun

as usual and after we went to our meeting spot and then

went home. It was a nice day.

I’m in Canada. I am at school today. Last night, I went to the park, and then went to bed. I ate dinner. Tomorrow, I will go camping. I like animals, games and family. I don’t like men, pizza and insects.

After the water slides, we went camping. I was really looking forward

to it.

When we got there, our teacher let us settle down and then we spent

some time waling along the beach (Crescent Beach) so romantic…

I took a lot of photos there. After dinner, we had watched a movie,

called “ Night of the Museum”. It was pretty funny. After the movie,

we got some free time to take a shower. I was getting up at 5: 30 the

next day and walked along the beach. Felt really good. I have never do

that before. It is so beautiful. We would have some sports later…

It’s really good for camping, especially when I was walking the beach,

and listened to the music “only one”.

I enjoyed eating ice cream. After the waterslides we went

to the camp. My favourite part of camp was Frisbee. My

favourite sports day game was shoes find. I would like to do

waterslides again.

My Camping TripLan, Ling Fang

I went camping on Friday. First, we went to the waterslide. The waterslide is in Splashdown Waterpark. The slides were yellow, blue, black and many other kinds of color. The most I like is the black one. The name of the black slide is called “The Black Hole”. My first ride of the black hole, when I came down, I lost my tube. Then I hurried, went back on the tube. It was fun. I went and played lots of times on the slides. Also, I liked the blue waterslide. We lined up for tubes. The water was very fast. We hit others that made them fall. We had a great time in the Splashdown waterpark. After the waterslides, we went to our camping cabins. Well the cabins were very dirty. There were bugs and dust everywhere. Then, the whole group went to the beach. Many people walked to the ocean. Not me, but I was out of balance. I fell over the wood so my clothes got wet, but I still had a very good time at the beach. At the night of my camping trip, I slept well also. I had a good time with my friends. On Saturday, we had sports day. We divided into groups. After that, we played lots of games at sports day. Maybe on Saturday it was too hot. I stayed in the cabin a long time, I like my time at camping. It’s a very good experience for camping.

First we went to “ Crescent Beach” we throwed many stones in to the sea, then we went back and saw the movie “ Night at the Museum”. I saw that before I came to Canada. But it was still interesting. When we finish the movie, we went to bed.

Today is sports day, in the afternoon, we started the games many games looks easy but doing is much harder. Those games make me very tired. So I took a nap on my bed. When I woke up, it’s time up. So I clean up my stuff and then we went back to school.

We went to the Crescent Beach. I took some photos there. And I picked some shells. After that, we had a good dinner. And we saw a move “ Night at the Museum” it is an interesting movie. Then we slept in a wooden house. Next day, it was a sport day. We had many interesting games. We throw the water balls we brought water with a broken cup to a water bucket. We jumped in a sack and we ate ice cream without hand. There were some other games, too. After we played these games, we came to school. I love camping very much.

On July 24, we played many interesting games. The last game was finding my shoes. I liked it very much because the teachers played the game too. Louie couldn’t hind his shoes. It’s funny! The camp was very fun.

The campsite was cool, and there were different styles of buildings. Our cabin was kind of big competing to the others, but it was quite small for eight huge men. However, our cabin was clean and tidy, big or small didn’t really matter.

After settling down at the campsite, we went to Crescent Beach for a walk and then had dinner. The beach was quite rocky, so I had a bit of hard time there. After dinner, we watched the movie “Night of the Museum” together with everyone.

In the afternoon, we went to a place which we will sleep overnight there. It’s beside Crescent Beach. The beach is very famous. There’re many people who live near the beach. (the price of those houses was very high) On Saturday morning I went to the beach. The sky is very great. There’re thousand of different kinds of color in it. Then I had my breakfast. It’s Mc. My friends told me that the lunch is also Mc. That’s true. Though Mc. Is better than KFC or PizzaHut, I still dislike the (arrange). In the afternoon, we saw a movie, the Night at the Museum. I have seen it before so I was bored.

Last Saturday, we went to the Science World. We promised to meet at 12:50. I went with Megan and Sally. First, we went up stairs. I saw a heart bet machine, and we run in the rim of a sieve.

In there, we can saw gold too. We received gold too. And we saw a big hippo. We raised up hippo by the lope and next the hippo, there was a go up chair. And we saw many other things.

Next, we went down stair. We saw many games. And we saw Ca toy show! After the toy show, we ate lunch with Korean teacher. After finish the lunch, we play a game with a man. We also bought pop corn and finished it on time and then went home.

Saturday was so funny.

I went to Science World with my school. It was real fun day. We saw a balloon show that was interesting because the balloons didn’t pop when all the kids came and stood on them. And at last she said, “Close your ears!”, and I covered mine. Then she lit a fire and popped the balloons very loudly. Next, I saw a movie called Scream Play. I thought it would be fun, but it was just riding rollercoaster and screaming a lot. It was boring! It was a lot to imagine being on a rollercoaster. I did sometimes, but mostly not. And we saw the screaming contest. I didn’t do it. I don’t know her name, but there was one girl who was really loud when screaming. I thought, this was my greatest trip in Canada so far! My best memory is from the Victoria field trip. The Butchart Gardens, Japanese Garden were my favorite because the sceneries were beautiful. Also the Royal BC Museum had animals such as snakes and a mammoth. It was grate!

We had to go to Victoria at 6:30 so we woke up at 4:30. We slept late and tried but it felt good!

At 6:30, we took a bus and went to the big boat. I played outside with my friends and order sisters. Around 9 o’clock, we arrived and took a bus too. And we went to ‘B.C. Royal museum’ by bus. There was animals that look like real animals. We saw bones and skeleton. They were amazing. On the second floors, there is a very scary totem pole. Ten minutes after, we went to the miniature world., small village people houses.

It was small and cute. Young min lived the village so we took a picture in house. Next we went to ‘Provencal government building’. We climbed up the stairs and we took a picture. It was funny. At lunch time, everybody ate lunch but we couldn’t because we ate lunch at the boat. Then we went to ‘Butcher Garden’. There were lots of flowers. The flowers were colorful and beautiful.

We bough some ice cream and lemonade. Finally we took a ferry and bought lots of food. I took 12dollors. And we arrived at our school. We took a car home and went to sleep.

Third floors, we saw a small village. It was cute. After museum, we had lunch time in the Parliament Government Building. We took a picture. There was a fountain. It was big and beautiful. After lunch, we went to the Butchart Garden. It was very big. I saw lots of flowers and bees. There was fountain too. It was soooooo beautiful. And we ate ice-cream. It was very expensive. But it was very delicious. After gardens, we rode a ferry. We ate many food in ferry. Yesterday was very funny day.

I went to Victoria yesterday. First, we went to there by bus. (We rode a yellow school bus) and then we arrived at station. We transferred to the ferry. The ferry looked liked a big shop. We can move around on the ferry. Fortunately, I didn’t have seasickness. There was a gift shop on the ferry; there were lots of souvenirs and clothes. They were very special. I wanted to buy them, but I didn’t buy because I didn’t want to waste my money. When I go to Victoria, I felt fresh. It was very beautiful. First, we went to the Royal B.C. museum. There were plenty of interesting things. It was fun. Then we went to the parliament building. It was very very graceful. So, I took a lot of pictures. It looked like paradise. I loved that building very much. Last, we went to the Butchart Gardens. There were a lot of flowers, but I was so fatigued, I wanted to escape from the garden. Anyway, I liked Victoria very much. It was very beautiful!!!!!

On Tuesday we rode on the Queen of New Westminster to go to Victoria. It was very beautiful in Victoria. Then we ride the school bus to go to BC Royal Museum. There, it was very big, so we strolled around BC Royal Museum then my feet were very sore. Then we went to the Parliament Buildings to take pictures and eat lunch. Then we went to Butchart Gardens . In there, you can see many flowers and can have been as a princess in Butchart Gardens unoccupied to take a walk ….anxiety, so, I very much liked it there and I took a lot of flower photos with my camera. Today, I’m very happy because I went to BC Royal Museum and thought a lot about Taiwan and in the Butchart Garden here the flower Taiwan is not too so I’m very much liked today.

I went to Victoria Yesterday. I got up at 5:30 am because we promised to gather at 6:20 am. I was so tired because I got up very early. It was so cold, but I had to wear short pants. Oh my goodness!!! First, we rode a big ferry. Wow, unbelievable. It was very bid and beautiful. I am so surprised!!! We departed at 8:00 am and arrived Vancouver Island about 10:00am.

When we got to the Island, it was so cold, but very beautiful. I was surprised one more time. We went to the Royal B.C. Museum first. I don’t like the museum and art museum because they are so boring and not interesting. So my condition was not good. But it was interesting. Wow, interesting!! And went to the gift shop. There was so interesting.

And we went to Burchart Gardens. Wow! It was beautiful and nice. Lots of flowers and trees. The smell was very fresh like the forest.

We walked between flowers and trees. It was so beautiful that I felt like as if I am a Queen!

Victoria Trip Hindemaro, Fujinami

I went to BC Royal Museum and Butchart Gardens by ferry and school bus. The day before yesterday, it was the first time in my life that I rode on a ferry. I ate traditional breakfast on the Queen of New Westminster. It was delicious! I experienced the culture of Canadian breakfast. I could also see the good scene. There was a wide sea. Next, I went to the BC Royal Museum. There were a lot of exhibits of animals and human life history. The exhibits were like real. So cool! The animals were like a live. Then, I ate lunch in front of the Parliament Buildings. After that, I went to Butchart Gardens. There were a lot to gardens. Italian garden, Sunken garden, Japanese garden. Well, there was a pond and a pinewood. They were like an old Japanese garden.

I went to a beautiful island with very clean environment, clean water and everything is (imagine). The ferry ship is so much big. There were many shops in there. So I wasn’t bored. And we went to a big museum with many kinds of thing in there so I saw many things and I took many pictures. We went to a big garden too. There were many, many flowers in there. I think there was a King’s garden because it was so much big. I think this trip was very good for me.

Victoria is the capital of BC. My favorite is the Butchart Gardens. They are so beautiful. They have Italian garden, Rose garden, Sunken garden, Japanese garden and other gardens. I only went to the Rose garden and the Sunken garden. It’s beautiful. First teacher take us to the Sunken garden. Then I with Amanda and other people to go the Rose garden. Roses have many colors and kinds. Last, I went to the gift shop and bought maple cookies, maple tea and maple sugar. We went back. When we went back to the homestay the dinner is ready. Then Vivian, Gigi and I played on the facebook. We went to take a bath and slept. I am thinking who is the garden care people? He or she is so good because thing (that they use) to see the beautiful flowers. What a beautiful garden.

In Tuesday, we went to Victoria. We rode a big ferry. The ferry is very good and many things in there. We looking around. There are many good things. Then we arrived in Victoria, we went to BC Royal Museum and looked. The nest place is Parliament Buildings. We ate lunch over there and took many pictures. There, building is very big and also beautiful. When we fall we went Butchart Gardens. There are many kinds of gardents, Italian garden, Rose garden, Sunken garden and Japanese garden. The Japanese garden is most famous garden but we didn’t have many times. So we couldn’t go there. but we went to the other garden. I like Rose garden and Sunken garden. In Rose garden, there all flowers are Roses. I like the Rose smell so I took too many pictures. The Rose smell so good. Then chicken smell (Sunken garden flowers smell too.) We ate ice cream that’s too expensive and we saw water fountain that is so big and beautiful. I think that’s are lake but that water is big ocean. So I’m surprised. Anyway, we go back to the gate. My Mom and I went to the gift shop and I bought blue bird bell. That’s so beautiful, that day like flowers day !!!

We went to Victoria. It was the capital of BC. We took the ferry. It

was called “New Ferry”. It was a beautiful ferry. It had 4 floors. From

1 to 3 floor it was park. From 4 to 5 floors it was a passenger cabin.

First, we visited BC Royal Museum. It was showed us many things

about Canada history. I took lots of photos there. Next the museum,

we saw lots of Parliament Buildings. I like the privates sculpture best.

We ate lunch on the grass behind the sculptures. In the afternoon, we

went to Butchart gardens. There were lots of flowers in the gardens.

We went to the Rose garden first and then we went to the Sunken

garden. There was a beautiful water fountain in the Sunken garden. We

had ice-cream. At last, we went to the Japanese garden. It was the

most beautiful garden in Butchart Gardens. We had a great time there.

7his Tuesday. We went to Victoria. We went there by ferry. It was very beautiful and clean. I could breathe fresh air. The sky was very blue.

First, we went to BC Royal Museum. It was very big. I could learn a lot in there. There were some insect samples in the museum. And there were some terrible things. I didn’t like them.

Next, we took photos in front of the Parliament Buildings. Everyone smiled. The Buildings were green. I don’t know what was in it, but it was big. I liked it.!

Finally, we went to Butchart Gardens. Oh, it was very, very beautiful. There were different kinds of flowers in it. They were colourful. I went to the Rose Garden and the Sunken Garden. It was crystal. I really liked both gardens. I took a lot of photos. I was very happy on that day!

Field Trip of VictoriaHuang, Chin Yi

I went to Victoria Island on Tuesday. We took a ferry called the Queen of New Westminster to Victoria Island. We took a long time so I did lots of things. We went to the BC Royal Museum. And I learned things about Canadian culture, science, lives, insects and marine organism. Some profound mysteries that people didn’t know about. Next, we took the school bus to the Parliament Buildings. It was a grand sight. And it was made by Queen Elizabeth. So, it was really beautiful. I took lots of pictures. The, at the afternoon we took the bus to the last stop. The Butchart Gardens. It has many Garden in there and it was really pretty so it was famous. Everyone got their favorite garden. And so did I! I liked the Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden the best. Because it was really colorful when you saw it. Last, we all took the Newest Ferry which got lots of rooms and places for shopping. I was reluctant to part to the Victoria Island.

We went to Victoria by ferry. We had long time on the ferry. It was a large ferry. We could do many things on it., eating, sleeping, watching TV and playing. We had a lot of fun on the ferry. After we arrived in Victoria, we went to the BC Royal Museum first. There were many old thing in it. Then we went to Butchart Gardens. There were too many gardens too. I don’t know which one I should visit first. We went to the Sunken Garden first. There was a big water fountain in the Sunken Garden. Then we went to the Japanese Garden. There were many flowers with many colours. When we went to the Italian Gardens, each person bought an ice-cream. It was tasty. I enjoyed it very much.

We went back at 5:00pm We were all tired but we were all happy. I loved Victoria.

Field Trip for VictoriaJay-Choe Gyu Jin

I went to Victoria yesterday by ferry. The sea that I saw from the deck was beautiful. The wind from the Pacific Ocean made me feel fresh and cool. The sun shone from the sky made the spectacle shinier. It’s a pity that I didn’t take a picture. The reason is that I went up on the deck without my camera and I couldn’t stop staring at the sea. The building where I ate lunch was great, too. The building in Vancouver’s downtown are modern style ones. However the buildings in Victoria seem like somewhat medieval style of architects. All of pictures that I took were able to be displayed as masterpieces. In the museum in Victoria where I went for the first time, I felt I was in Ancient, primary history ages, and 17 century society. The models of respective ages were very realistic. However, it’s a pity that I couldn’t look around Butchart Garden for more long time because I was so hungry that I had to eat something. It made me waste time in the Butchart Darden. All of places I visited was great. Nevertheless, if I were to be asked to choose the best place, I’ll choose the sea that I took around on the B.C. ferry’s deck.

VictoriaKim-Do Hoon

On Tuesday we went to Victoria. I was many fantastic

things such as legislature Buildings. Peter dressed

up as a skunk. Wan Seok dressed up in a bee skirt and

Jinsu used an edge puppet. I saw a museum, insects,

beautiful gardens and French fries. My favorite

part was the museum because it was funny and very

interesting. Next time I would you like to go to the

beautiful garden.

I go to KGIC summer camp. My favourite trip is Victoria. I saw many things like a big ferry boat, pretty flowers, museum and Parliament buildings. My friends at KGIC are Yuri and Nisikawa.

The last three daysMA, Li Hsuan

It is the last three day I study in KGIC. I feel sad but also happy. I

feel sad because I can’t see my friends anymore, I feel happy because I

can see my family again. I remember when I came to KGIC. I didn’t know

anyone, but now, I just need to stay three day in here. I will miss my

homestay, KGIC teacher, my friends, my classmates and Canada. The

last three days is very important for me. Three days is very short. I

wanted to say “goodbye” to KGIC and homestay.

Three days are for me the best remembrance could not be forgotten

too, this is the best place I have been to. The three days for me I will

treasure it. I won’t forget that I have a trip of Canada. Three day, it’s

important, two day, is so sad, one day, is the time to say goodbye. In

the last three day, I have so many things to say, so many things to do.

when it is the time, I will let it go. I will miss everything I been, I do. In

the day. I always tell myself. It ok, we will meet when we go back, but

it’s not true. I really love to study in KGIC and really love to live in my

homestay. Three days for me. On Friday, we will say goodbye, is so fast.

I know somebody is happy, but I really feel sad, I want to meet them in

the airport, but I couldn’t!

The first day in Canada and the last three days in Canada is all different.

The last few days I always think if we can meet in the airport. I will be

happy, I will miss that three day and the three day in the homestay.

It is very important that for me, I like my homestay so much , and my

teacher in KGIC.

I wanted to say thank you KGIC. I have a good time in here, thank you

KGIC teachers. I’ve been very good in here, thank you homestay. I’m

been rally fun in the homstay. Thank you my friend, always play with

me and talk with me. Thank you Canada, I have a great time in here.

Thank you everyone in Canada. I have a safe time in here. I will miss you.

Last three days. I will be treasure. I like this trip. I like my teacher,

my friend and my school. The last think I want to say to my teacher,

school, homestay and my friend: I won’t forget you and I love you!!
