SUZHOU STEEL SERVICE CENTERGS Global (Suzhou) Steel Service Center is the first steel coil service center that functions as a new platform for GS Global’s steel business. Established in July 2011, Suzhou Steel Service Center is located in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, hence geographically enjoys high accessibility from major cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou in China.

Suzhou Steel Service Center provides slitting, shearing, importing, exporting and distribution of high quality steel products such as coated steel (EG, GI, GL, COLOR and etc) and cold rolled steel for various customers including global OA, IT, Home appliance, machine manufactures and automotive companies.

Suzhou Steel Service Center processes and supplies steel products for internationally renowned electronics and OA manufacturers located at Huadong region. GS Global is expanding its activities in triangular trade and importing business. In 2017, GS Global has successfully invested in Indonesian mines and is also actively seeking further mine investments in Australia and Indonesia to stretch its business scope tothe upstream fields.

MAJOR BUSINESS ACTIVITIESSince 1978, with 40 years of accumulated experience and know-how, GS Global specializes in handling multi-origin thermal coal including Indonesian, Russian and Australian. Despite volatil-ity of the global coal market, demand for coal within Korea has been stably increasing for the past few decades. Along with such trend, the team’s role is also being enlarged in responding to the rising demand from expansion of coal fired power plants within GS Group and general indus-try markets in Korea. We are is also actively supplying thermal coal to the Chinese market with Indonesian origin, sourced from its own off-take tonnage and various named miners.

BSSRGS Global acquired shares in BSSR and obtained off-taking rights to secure BSSR / AGM coal and expanded its coal trading portfolio. BSSR is one of the major Indonesian coal mining compa-nies in Indonesia that produces 10 million tonnes of thermal coal per annum from its own mining operation in East Kalimantan (BSSR Mine) and its 100% subsidiary mining company AGM Mine in South Kalimantan.

MAJOR BUSINESS ACTIVITIESWith over 15 years of accumulated know-how, PDI business for imported cars arranged a large-scale PDI facilities over 165 thousand square meters at free trade zone near Pyeongtaek harbor. Since then, We are providing best services to automobile companies (Honda, Nissan, Inifiniti, Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen) with its latest PDI system.

As of 2014, GS Global’s PDI service maintains a market share of approximately 38%, and is striving to increase its PDI volume. By introducing various foreign items into domestic market, Logistics Team strives to discover and promote brands that are capable of flourishing with GS Global.

Our special vehicle manufacturing business unit manufactures and supplies aircraft refueling vehicles for domestic and overseas clients with the production capacity of over 80 vehicles per year. Currently, we export aircraft refueling vehicles to Pakistan and Egypt. The background rationale of entering into SOC business is that, with strategic use of the facilities with logistics infrastructures developed through SOC projects, we believe we could facilitate more efficient business expansion to enhance our logistics capabilities for future growth.

BUSINESS FIELDSWith the government approval, we are currently engaged in 2 development projects at the port of Pyeongtaek and Donghae, respectively. One is to construct a general bulk cargo port in Pyeongtaek scaled of 2 berths for 30,000DWT and the other is a coal terminal in Donghae, scaled of 1 berths for 100,000DWT.

MAJOR BUSINESS ACTIVITIESThose of the development projects at the port of Pyeongtaek and Donghae are business through BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) type. The development of a bulk cargo port at Pyeongtaek is the first case for the government to allow the private sector to run the business.

In October 2015, officially selected by the government as a developer, we are taking steps to carry out the project with a goal to be completed by 2023. The project in Donghae has been approved in May 2018 and it is expected to be completed by 2024.

By successful completion of the above of two projects, we will secure our capabilities as a project developer and contribute to expanding infrastructure in accordance with government develop-ment policies.
