The Rose Reporter Edition #28 October 27, 2015 Lead Story: Shayna interviews Boston Globes Managing Director Linda Pizzuti Henry Have you ever wondered how a newspaper company can write and print and deliver 300,000 newspapers EVERYDAY!!! I got the opportunity to see how it is done and more importantly WHO it is done by!! Recently I was invited into the Boston Globe to get a tour of how they print the papers and got to sit in on what they call an editors meeting to see how they decide what stories they are going to put in the paper. I also got to interview Linda Pizzuti Henry, the director of the WHOLE newspaper! Did you know they have actual robots that move the rolls of paper from place to place? It was quite an operation for sure! The editors meeting was really neat! I liked hearing them discuss which stories they wanted to cover and which ones they didn't think people would want to read about. When I met Mrs. Henry she was so nice! She is probably SO busy and she sat down and answered ALL my questions! I hope you enjoy reading my interview as much as I enjoyed getting it! Shayna: So what is it like being the director of the Boston Globe? Linda: I have very different things to do everyday!! Shayna: What is the most exciting part of running the Globe? Linda: How the work matters to the community and how it brings the community together! Shayna: Do you have a favorite fiction and non fiction author? Linda: fiction author would be children's books writer Mo Willems I read with my four and a half year old and non fiction would be Walter Isaacson, he does really great biographies Shayna: What do you enjoy doing when you aren't working? Linda: I really enjoy spending time with my family and I like going to sporting events.
