Buick Century 1982–1996

1. Remove the (4) screws from the top, inside edge of the plastic trim ring.

2. Remove (5) Phillips screws from both sides of the steering column.

3. Remove (3) Phillips screws holding the rocker switch housing and lift the housing out.

4. Unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring from around the factory radio. (Figure A)

5. Remove the factory radio from the dashboard and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

6. Remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio to the dash. (Figure B)

Note: Keep the old brackets for mounting the new radio and discard the old factory radio.

Buick Electra, Estate Wagon, LeSabre, Park Avenue 1984–1994

1. Carefully unsnap the climate control trim ring and then remove the (4) torx-head screws exposed underneath. (Figure A)

2 Pull the steering collar back, then carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. Set this trim ring aside.

3. Remove the factory radio from the dashboard and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

Buick Regal 1984–1987

1. Remove both knobs from the original factory radio and remove the cigarette lighter. (Figure A)

2. Gently lift the edges of the plastic trim ring surrounding the factory radio, pull away from dashboard and set aside.


Note: Keep the old brackets for mounting the new radio.




Buick Reatta 1990–1991

1. Remove the (1) torx-head screw from each of the A/C vents. (Figure A)

2. Carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. Set this trim ring aside.

3. Remove the (4) Phillips screws holding the factory radio in the dashboard, remove the radio and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

Buick Riviera 1983-1985

1. Carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws holding the radio in the dashboard, remove the radio and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.





1. Remove the (2) torx-head screws above the instrument cluster. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (1) torx-head screw from each of the A/C vents. (Figure A)

3. Carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring from around the factory radio.


5. Remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio to dash. (Figure B)









DASH DISASSEMBLY

Buick Roadmaster 1991-1994 Chevrolet Caprice 1991-1993

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the driver’s side service panel.

2. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully lift off the plastic trim piece located above the glove box and remove the (1) Phillips screw.

3. Remove the (3) Phillips screws from the top edge of the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. (1) Screw from the lower left corner of the glove box and (1) from the parking brake release. (Figure A)

4. Now carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring from around the factory radio.


6. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #4. Then, using wire cutters, cut and remove all mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “B”. (Figure B)

Buick Skyhawk 1982-1989 Oldsmobile Firenza 1982-1988

1. Remove the glove box by removing the clip holding the door strap and (4) Phillips screws that securing the glove box.

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws located below the cigarette lighter housing and the (3) Phillips screws below the steering column. (Figure A)

3. Remove the (1) Phillips screw from the top, left-hand side of the factory radio radio.

4. Now carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring from around the factory radio.

5. Remove the radio and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

Buick Skylark 1983-1985

1. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from the top edge of the instrument panel.

2. Remove the (1) Phillips screw from the bottom, left-hand corner of the instrument panel. (Figure A)

3. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the steering column plastic trim, then remove the trim itself. (Figure A)

4. Carefully pull up and out on the plastic trim ring around the factory radio, remove it and set aside.






1. Carefully unsnap the gear shifter trim ring from the base of the console.

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws holding the bottom of the plastic dash trim ring, remove the trim ring and set aside. (Figure A)

Cadillac Deville/Fleetwood 1985-1993

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the top of the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Carefully lift the top edge of the trim ring, pull away from the dashboard, and set aside.

3. Remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.







1. Remove the ashtray, then remove the (2) Phillips screws exposed in the ashtray cavity.

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws holding the front of the ashtray cavity and lower section of the plastic dashboard trim ring.

3. Using a flat-head screwdriver, very carefully pry underneath the edge of the trim ring, remove it and set aside.

4. Remove the (2) nuts holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

5. Remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio to the dash. (Figure A)

Cadillac Eldorado, Seville 1984-1991

1. Remove the Phillips screws above the A/C vents. (Figure A)

2. Carefully lift underneath the top edge of the plastic trim ring around the factory radio, unhook the bottom edge, remove the trim ring and set aside.

3. Remove the factory radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.






Chevrolet Astro / GMC Safari 1985-1989

1. Remove the (3) Phillips screws from the top section of the plastic console trim ring around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Open the glove box to expose the (2) 10mm bolts at the lower edge of the trim ring. Remove these bolts.

3. Carefully pull the console trim ring away from the dashboard, remove the now exposed (2) 7mm bolts, remove the console trim ring and set aside.

4. Remove the (2) 7mm screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the bottom of the console trim ring around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Carefully pull up on the edge of the console trim ring, unclip and remove it, then set aside.

3. Remove the (4) Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #1. Then, using wire cutters cut and remove all mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “A”. (Figure B)

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the plastic trim ring around the factory radio, remove the trim ring itself and set aside. (Figure A)

Chevrolet Beretta/Corsica 1991–1996

1. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry outward on the plastic console trim ring around the factory radio. Remove the trim ring and set aside. (Figure A)


3. Locate Metra Bracket #7. (Figure B)



Chevrolet Camaro 1982-1992 / Pontiac Firebird 1982-1992

1. Remove the (4) torx-head screws from the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the trim ring itself and set aside.


4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #2. Then, using wire cutters, cut and remove all mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “A”. (Figure B)


Chevrolet Cavalier 1991–1994

1. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry outward on the plastic console trim ring around the factory radio. Remove the trim ring and set aside. (Figure A)

1. Remove the (6) torx-head screws from the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. Remove the trim ring itself and set aside. (Figure A)

Chevrolet Celebrity 1982-1983

1. Remove the plastic trim plate next to each A/C vent, then remove the (2) Phillips screws that are exposed under the trim plates. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws surrounding the steering column. Push down on the light control knob spring and remove the knob. Now remove the entire plastic trim ring from around the factory radio and set aside. (Figure A)

3. Remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.







DASH DISASSEMBLY


1. Remove the glove box compartment by pushing down on the clip on the bottom of the glove box liner, then removing the (6) nuts exposed when the door to the glove box is opened. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (6) Phillips screws just below the steering column.

3. Remove the headlight knob by pushing down on the clip in back of the knob, then removing the nut.

4. Remove the cigarette lighter and disconnect its wiring. Grab the cigarette lighter socket, unscrew the brass nut on the back of the lighter and remove the socket.

5. Remove the plastic trim ring from around the factory radio and set aside.






Chevrolet Citation II 1985

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the trim panel on the bottom of the steering column and remove. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (6) Phillips screws from the plastic trim ring around the factory radio, remove the trim ring and set aside.

Chevrolet Corvette 1984-1989

1. Remove the (7) Phillips screws from the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Move the gear shifter to the lowest position (L1) and carefully pull the right edge of the trim panel forward. Unhook the left side and remove the panel. Set aside.






Chevrolet El Camino 1985-1988, Monte Carlo 1985-1988


2. Remove the panel, disconnect the cigarette lighter wiring and set aside.


4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #2. Then, using wire cutters, cut and remove all mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “C”. (Figure B)

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws holding the lower steering column panel and remove the panel. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws now exposed on the left tab of the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

3. Open up the glove compartment and remove the (2) Phillips screws you now see on the right side of the plastic trim panel around the factory radio.

1. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the lower steering column panel. Pull this panel down to gain access to the bottom areas of the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Now pull the top and bottom edges of the trim panel forward, remove the panel and set aside.

1. Remove the ashtray and (2) Phillips screws from the ashtray bracket itself. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from above the factory radio opening and remove the trim ring from around the radio. (Figure A)

1. Remove the (4) torx-head screws from the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (1) torx-head screw from the lower right-hand corner of the instrument cluster panel and remove the trim panel around the radio.


4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #5. Then, using wire cutters, cut and remove all mounting tabs on the left and right bracket EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “B”. (Figure B)

Chevrolet S10 Pickup 1986-1993, S10 Blazer 1986-1994 / GMC S15 Pickup 1986-1994, S15 Jimmy 1986-1994, Oldsmobile Bravada 1991-1994

1. Pull ashtray out from its holder, then remove the (1) Phillips screw from inside the ashtray holder. (Figure A)

2. Open the door to the glove box and remove the (2) Phillips screws you can now see on the edge of the plastic trim panel that surrounds the factory radio. (Figure A)


4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #(L) S-10 and also the right bracket from Bracket Set #5. Using wire cutters cut and remove all mounting tabs on the right bracket EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “B”. (Figure B)

Note: DO NOT CUT anything on the Bracket #(L) S-10.

1. Carefully unsnap the trim panel from around the factory radio, remove and set aside. (Figure A)

Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1984-1990, Delta 88 1986-1988

1. Put the gearshift lever in the lowest gear (L1). Now remove the rubber trim boot from the steering column. (Figure A)

2. Disconnect the ashtray/light wiring terminal and then remove the entire radio trim panel. Set aside.





Oldsmobile Achieva 1992-1995


2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the bottom edge of the trim panel and then unsnap the A/C vents.

3. Disconnect the light switch from the radio trim panel, remove the panel and set aside.









DASH DISASSEMBLY

Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais 1984-1991

1. Remove the console/glove box assembly and the (3) Phillips screws just below the box.

2. Lift up the parking brake trim and then remove the (2) Phillips screws from the gearshift trim.

3. Remove the ashtray from the gearshift area. Then remove the (2) 7mm screws exposed under the ashtray.

4. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, press down on the retainer tabs on the dashboard ashtray, pull it out and them remove the (2) 7mm Hex-head screws from the ashtray bracket.

5. Remove the trim panel from around the radio and set aside. Then remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.





Oldsmobile Omega 1983-1984

1. Remove the (4) hex-head screws from the steering column trim panel. (Figure A)

2. Pull down on the rear edge of the panel, remove and set aside.

Oldsmobile Toronado 1982-1985

1. Remove the console/glove box assembly and the (3) Phillips screws just below the box.

2. Press down on the clip found just behind the headlight knob and remove the knob itself.

3. Remove the (3) Phillips screws holding the plastic steering column trim and remove the trim piece.

4. Remove the (4) Phillips screws holding the bottom edge of the plastic trim panel around the factory radio, carefully pull the trim panel completely away from the dashboard and set aside. (Figure A)

5. Now remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.





Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 1982-1996

1. Remove the ashtray and (2) Phillips screws from beneath the ashtray.

2. Remove the (1) Phillips screw below the steering column, and the (2) Phillips screws above the column. Carefully pry the A/C vents out from the dashboard and remove the exposed Phillips screws. (Figure A)

3. Remove the (6) Phillips screws from the edges of the trim panel around the factory radio, remove the panel and set aside.









DASH DISASSEMBLY

Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1984-1988

1. Remove the cigarette lighter. Remove the radio knobs.

2. Unsnap and remove the trim panel from around the factory radio. (Figure A)

3. Remove the (1) Phillips screw from the right side of the ashtray housing.

4. Then remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.





Pontiac 6000 1982-1991

1. By opening the glove box, you can now remove the (1) Phillips screw in the side of the trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the trim panel and dummy plate from the dashboard and set aside.

Pontiac Bonneville 1987-1993

1. Carefully unsnap and remove the trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)






Pontiac Fiero 1984-1988

1. Remove the (4) torx-head screws from the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. Carefully pull on the trim panel, remove and set aside. (Figure A)

2. Now remove the (4) hex-head screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

Pontiac Grand Am 1985-1991

1. Unsnap the console panel around the gear shifter.

2. Now unsnap, remove and set aside the plastic trim panel from around the factory radio. (Figure A)







1. Remove the (6) Hex-head screws from the driver’s side padded knee panel and let the panel drop down.

2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from the glove box/cup holder assembly.

3. Remove the (1) 7mm Hex-head screw from the left corner of the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

4. Then (2) 10mm nuts holding the top of the factory radio, remove the radio radio itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the radio.

Pontiac Grand Prix 1985-1987, Bonneville 1982-1986

1. Remove the (3) Phillips screws from the top edge of the trim panel around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from the metal steering column trim and remove the trim.

3. Remove the (4) Phillips screws exposed at the bottom edge of the radio trim panel.

4. Remove the cigarette lighter, retainer ring and finally, the trim panel itself. Set aside.

5. Then remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.





Pontiac Grand Prix 1990-1993

1. Remove the (1) 9/32” Hex-head screw from the computer diagnostic plug, then twist to reveal the (1) 9/32” screw on the trim panel. Remove this screw.

2. Remove the (3) 9/32” screws from the bottom edge of the trim panel and remove the panel.

3. Open the glove box and then remove the (4) 9/32” screws from the trim panel around the factory radio. Remove the radio trim panel and set aside. (Figure A)

4. Remove the (2) Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.

5. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #6. Then, using wire cutter, cut and remove all mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a letter “B.” (Figure B)

1. Carefully unclip the trim panel from around the factory radio. (Figure A)

2. Remove the (2) Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.

1. Remove the steering column filler panel and the ashtray. (Figure A)

2. Unclip the dash trim bezel and remove.

3. Using a small flat-blade screwdriver press down on the outer clips of the factory radio or pocket.

4. Disconnect the wiring and remove the unit.

5. Locate Bracket Set #8 (no cutting is required). (Figure B)

1. Place the gear selector in its lowest position.

2. Unclip the perimeter of the dash trim bezel. (Figure A)

3. Disconnect the rear A/C control harness and the headlight switch from the back of the dash trim bezel and remove the bezel.

4. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, press down on the outside clips of the factory radio and remove.




Chevrolet Express 1996-2000 / GMC Savanna 1996-2000

1. Unclip the plastic trim piece located below the steering column.

2. Unclip the dash trim bezel. Pull the bezel over the steering column and disconnect the wiring. (Figure A)

3. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, press down on the outside clips of the factory radio and remove.

1. Remove (2) 9/32” hex-head screws from the knee bolster. (Figure A)

2. Pull down on the bolster and remove 9/32” screws exposed on the base of the dash trim bezel.

3. Remove (1) Phillips screw above the instrument cluster.


5. Remove (2) 9/32” hex-head screws securing the factory radio and disconnect the wiring.




Chevrolet Venture 1997-1999 / Oldsmobile Silhouette 1997-1999 / Pontiac TransSport 1997-1999, Montana 1997-1999

1. Remove the ashtray and (1) Phillips screw exposed in the ashtray cavity.

2. Remove (1) Phillips screw from the cigarette lighter compartment.

3. Remove (2) Phillips screws securing the factory radio and disconnect the wiring.

1. Unclip the radio trim bezel and remove.

2. Remove (2) 9/32” hex-head screws securing the factory radio and disconnect the wiring. (Figure A)

1. Unclip the radio trim bezel and remove. (Figure A)





Chevrolet Caprice 1994-1996, Impala 1994-1996

1. Remove (5) hex-head screws from the ashtray cavity. (Figure A)

2. Remove (4) hex-head screws from the base of the dash trim bezel. (Figure A)

3. Unsnap the fuse box cover and remove (1) hex-head screw exposed.

4. Remove (2) hex-head screws above the instrument cluster. (Figure A)

5. Place the gear selector in “D1 “. Pull out on the cluster trim and remove.

6. Remove (1) hex-head screw exposed on the left edge of the dash trim bezel.

7. Unclip the dash trim bezel (including the radio trim bezel) and remove.

Chevrolet Cavalier 1995-1999

1. Open drivers door and remove fuse panel on end of dash.

2. Open passenger door and remove panel on end of dash.

3. Remove (1) Phillips screw from each side, now exposed.

4. Remove (3) 7mm hex-head screws from the top of the glove box liner.

5. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws from the top-left corner of the glove box cavity.

6. Remove (1) Phillips screw from the defroster duct.

7. Remove the duct work and (1) Phillips screw exposed.

8. Remove the dash pad and (3) Phillips screws exposed at the top of the radio trim bezel.





1. Pry out on the ride control switch and disconnect wiring.

2. Unsnap the switch trim and remove (2) 10mm hex-head bolts exposed. (Figure A)

3. Open the center console door, remove (4) screws from the inner hinge and remove the door.

4. Open the ashtray and remove (1) screw exposed.

5. Remove the ashtray and (1) screw exposed.

6. Unclip the small grille to the left of the ignition switch and remove (1) screw exposed.

7. Unclip the base of the radio trim bezel and remove.




Pontiac Firebird 1993-2002

1. Unclip the radio trim bezel. (Figure A)

1. Open the glove box and remove (2) Phillips screws exposed on the right edge of the radio trim bezel. (Figure A)

2. Unclip the bezel and remove.





1. Using a small set of pliers, grasp the retaining clip on the back of the gear shifter handle and remove the clip.

2. Remove the gear shifter handle. Unclip the center console and remove.

3. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws exposed under the climate controls.

4. Unclip the radio trim bezel and remove.






1. Unclip the entire dash trim bezel. (Figure A)

2. Remove the screws securing the factory radio and disconnect the wiring.






KIT PREPARATION

This kit will allow you (4) different types of mounting depths for whichever situation your vehicle requires. Refer to the illustration below for desired mounting depths:

(a) Flush, (b) 1/2” Recessed, (c) 1/2” Extended, (d) 1” Extended. (Figure A)

For 1/2” recessed installations:Extend the slots on the sides of the extension housing by using wire cutters to cut a slot that opens 1/4” from the face of the extension housing. (Figure B)

For 1” extended installations:Slide the spacers into the slots on the sides of the extension housing as indicated in the illustration. (Figure C)

KIT PREPARATION (CONT)

For top and/or bottom mounting brackets:

1. Attach the top and/or bottom bracket to the radio housing using carriage bolts and Keps nuts provided with the kit. (Figure A)

2. Slide the extension housing into the radio housing until it reaches the desired depth. (Figure B)

Note: Ensure the holes on the side of the kit are clear. If not, remove the extension housing, flip it upside down, and then slide the extension housing back into the radio housing.

3. Attach carriage bolts and Keps nuts into the holes on the sides of the assembled housing.

Note: The carriage bolts must be inserted from the inside of the housing.

Continue to Kit Assembly

For side mounting brackets:

1. Slide the extension housing into the radio housing until it reaches the desired depth. (Figure B)

Note: Ensure the holes on the side of the kit are clear. If not, remove the extension housing, flip it upside down, and then slide the extension housing back into the radio housing.

2. Attach the brackets to the assembled housing through the holes on the sides of the kit. (Figure C)

Note: If using bracket sets #9 or #10, you must insert the carriage bolts from the outside of the housing.

KIT ASSEMBLY

1. Remove the metal DIN sleeve and trim ring from the aftermarket radio.

2. Slide the DIN sleeve into the kit and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure A)

3. Slide the radio back into the DIN sleeve until it clicks in. (Figure A)

4. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna plug in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapters from Metra and/or AXXESS.

5. Reassemble the dash in the reverse order of disassembly to complete the installation.

Buick Century 1982–1996

1. Quite los (4) tornillos del borde superior interior del anillo de la moldura de plástico.

2. Quite los (5) tornillos Phillips de ambos lados de la columna de dirección.

3. Quite los (3) tornillos Phillips que sujetan la carcasa del interruptor y saque la carcasa.

4. Suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

5. Quite el radio de fábrica del tablero y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

6. Quite los soportes originales que montan el radio/la unidad de fábrica en el tablero. (Figura B)

Nota: Conserve los soportes anteriores para montar el nuevo radioy deseche el radio de fábrica anterior.

Buick Electra, Estate Wagon, LeSabre, Park Avenue 1984–1994

1. Con cuidado suelte a presión el anillo de la moldura del control de clima y quite los (4) tornillos de cabeza hexagonal expuestos debajo. (Figura A)

2. Jale el collar del volante hacia atrás, luego con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico que rodea el radio de fábrica. Coloque este anillo de moldura a un lado.

3. Quite el radio de fábrica del tablero y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.


Nota: Conserve los soportes anteriores para montar el nuevo radio y deseche el radio de fábrica anterior.




DESMONTAJE DEL TABLERO



Buick Regal 1984–1987

1. Quite las dos perillas del radio de fábrica original y quite el encendedor. (Figura A)

2. Levante con cuidado los bordes de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica, jale alejándola del tablero y déjela a un lado.


Nota: Conserve los soportes anteriores para montar el nuevo radio.




Buick Reatta 1990–1991

1. Quite (1) tornillo de cabeza Torx de cada una de las rejillas del aire acondicionado. (Figura A)

2. Con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica. Coloque este anillo de moldura a un lado.

3. Quite los (4) tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio de fábrica al tablero, quite el radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.










1. Con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

2. Quite los (4) tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio al tablero, quite el radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.





1. Quite los (2) tornillos de cabeza Torx de arriba del conjunto de instrumentos. (Figura A)

2. Quite (1) tornillo de cabeza Torx de cada una de las rejillas del aire acondicionado. (Figura A)

3. Con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica.



Nota: Conserve los soportes anteriores para montar el nuevo radio y deseche el radio de fábrica anterior.

4. Ahora con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica.


6. Localice el juego de soportes Metra #4. Usando cortadores de cables, corte y quite todas las pestañas de montaje del conjunto de soportes EXCEPTO las pestañas marcadas en la parte trasera con la letra “B”. (Figura B)

1. Quite la guantera quitando el gancho que sujeta la correa de la puerta y (4) tornillos Phillips que sujetan la guantera.

2. Quite los (2) tornillos Phillips localizados debajo de la carcasa del encendedor y los (3) tornillos Phillips de abajo de la columna de dirección. (Figura A)

3. Quite (1) tornillo Phillips del lado superior izquierdo de la unidad del radio de fábrica.

4. Ahora con cuidado suelte a presión y quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica.

5. Quite el radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

1. Quite los (2) tornillos Phillips del borde superior del anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

2. Con cuidado levante el borde superior del anillo de la moldura, jale en dirección opuesta al tablero y déjelo a un lado.

3. Quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.







1. Quite el cenicero, luego los (2) tornillos Phillips que quedan a la vista en la cavidad del cenicero.

2. Quite los (2) tornillos Phillips que sujetan el frente de la cavidad del cenicero y la sección inferior del anillo de la moldura de plástico del tablero.

3. Con un destornillador de paleta, con mucho cuidado haga palanca debajo del borde del anillo de la moldura, quítelo y déjelo a un lado.

4. Quite las (2) tuercas que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

5. Quite los soportes originales que montan el radio/la unidad de fábrica en el tablero. (Figura A)

1. Quite los tornillos Phillips de arriba de las rejillas del aire acondicionado. (Figura A)

2. Con cuidado levante debajo del borde superior del anillo de la moldura de plástico alrededor del radio de fábrica, desenganche el borde inferior, quite el anillo de la moldura y déjelo a un lado.

3. Quite el radio de fábrica y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.






Chevrolet Astro / GMC Safari 1985-1989

1. Quite los (3) tornillos Phillips de la sección superior del anillo de la moldura de plástico de la consola alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

2. Abra la guantera para exponer los (2) pernos de 10mm del borde inferior del anillo de la moldura. Quite estos pernos.

3. Con cuidado jale el anillo de la moldura de la consola en dirección opuesta al tablero, quite los (2) pernos de 7mm que quedaron expuestos, retire el anillo de la moldura de la consola y déjelo a un lado.

4. Quite los (2) tornillos de 7mm que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

3. Quite los tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.









1. Quite el compartimiento de la guantera presionando hacia abajo el gancho de la parte inferior del revestimiento de la guantera y quite las (6) tuercas que quedan expuestas al abrir la puerta de la guantera. (Figura A)

2. Quite los (6) tornillos Phillips que están justo abajo de la columna de dirección.

3. Quite la perilla de los faros presionando hacia abajo el gancho de la parte posterior de la perilla y quitando la tuerca.

4. Quite el encendedor y desconecte su cableado. Sujete el enchufe del encendedor, desatornille la tuerca de bronce de la parte posterior del encendedor y quite el enchufe.

5. Quite el anillo de la moldura de plástico de alrededor del radio de fábrica y déjelo a un lado.

1. Quite el conjunto de consola/guantera y los (3) tornillos Phillips justo debajo de la guantera.

2. Levante la moldura del freno de mano y quite los (2) tornillos Phillips de la moldura de la palanca de velocidades.

3. Quite el cenicero del área de la palanca de velocidades. Luego quite los (2) tornillos de 7mm expuestos debajo del cenicero.

4. Con un destornillador de paleta, presione hacia abajo las pestañas de retención del cenicero del tablero, jálelo hacia afuera y quite los (2) tornillos de 7mm de cabeza hexagonal del soporte del cenicero.

5. Quite el panel de la moldura de alrededor del radio de fábrica y déjelo a un lado. Luego quite los tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

1. Quite los (4) tornillos de cabeza hexagonal del panel de la moldura de la columna de dirección. (Figura A)

3. Quite los (3) tornillos Phillips que sujetan la moldura de la columna de dirección de plástico y quite la pieza de la moldura.

4. Quite los (4) tornillos Phillips que sujetan el borde inferior del panel de la moldura de plástico alrededor del radio de fábrica, jale con cuidado el panel de la moldura, retirándolo por completo del tablero y déjelo a un lado. (Figura A)

5. Ahora quite los tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

1. Quite el cenicero y los (2) tornillos Phillips de abajo del cenicero.

2. Quite (1) tornillo Phillips de abajo de la columna de dirección y los (2) tornillos Phillips de arriba de la columna. Con cuidado haga palanca para quitar las rejillas del aire acondicionado del tablero y quite los tornillos Phillips expuestos. (Figura A)

3. Quite los (6) tornillos Phillips de los bordes del panel de la moldura de alrededor del radio de fábrica, quite el panel y déjelo a un lado.










Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1984-1988

1. Quite el encendedor. Quite las perillas del radio.

2. Suelte a presión y quite el panel de la moldura de alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

3. Quite (1) tornillo Phillips del lado derecho de la carcasa del cenicero.

4. Luego quite los tornillos Phillips que sujetan el radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

1. Suelte a presión el panel de la consola de alrededor de la palanca de velocidades.

2. Ahora suelte a presión, quite y haga a un lado el panel de la moldura de plástico alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)







1. Quite los (6) tornillos de cabeza hexagonal del panel del protector de rodillas acolchonado del lado del conductor y deje que el panel caiga.

2. Quite los (4) tornillos Phillips del conjunto de la guantera/portavasos.

3. Quite (1) tornillo de 7mm de cabeza hexagonal de la esquina izquierda del panel de la moldura de plástico alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

4. Luego las (2) tuercas de 10mm que sujetan la parte superior del radio de fábrica, quite la unidad del radio y desconecte el cableado de la parte trasera de la unidad.

1. Quite los (3) tornillos Phillips del borde superior del panel de la moldura de alrededor del radio de fábrica. (Figura A)

3. Quite los (4) tornillos Phillips que quedan expuestos en el borde inferior del panel de la moldura del radio.

4. Quite el encendedor, el anillo retenedor y finalmente el panel de la moldura. Déjelo a un lado.







1. Quite (1) tornillo de cabeza hexagonal de 9/32” de la conexión de diagnóstico por computadora, luego gírela para revelar (1) tornillo de 9/32” en el panel de la moldura. Quite este tornillo.

2. Quite los (3) tornillos de 9/32” del borde inferior del panel de la moldura y quite el panel.

3. Abra la guantera y luego quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32” del panel de la moldura de alrededor del radio de fábrica. Quite el panel de la moldura del radio y déjelo a un lado. (Figura A)


5. Localice el juego de soportes Metra #6. Luego, usando un cortador de cables, corte y quite todas las pestañas de montaje del conjunto de soportes EXCEPTO las pestañas marcadas en la parte trasera con la letra “B”. (Figura B)

4. Desconecte el cableado y retire la unidad.

5. Localice el juego de soportes #8 (no se requiere corte). (Figura B)

1. Coloque el selector de velocidades en su posición más baja.

2. Desenganche el perímetro del bisel de la moldura del tablero. (Figura A)

3. Desconecte el arnés del control del aire acondicionado trasero y el interruptor de los faros de la parte posterior del bisel de la moldura del tablero y quite el bisel.

4. Con un destornillador de paleta, presione hacia abajo en los ganchos exteriores de la unidad central de fábrica y quítela.

1. Desenganche la pieza de moldura de plástico localizada debajo de la columna de dirección.

2. Desenganche el bisel de la moldura del tablero. Jale el bisel por encima de la columna de dirección y desconecte el cableado. (Figura A)

3. Con un destornillador de paleta, presione hacia abajo en los ganchos exteriores de la unidad central de fábrica y quítela.

Chevrolet Cavalier 1995-19991. Abra la puerta del conductor y quite el panel de fusibles en el

extremo del tablero.

2. Abra la puerta del pasajero y quite el panel del extremo del tablero.

3. Quite (1) tornillo Phillips expuesto de cada lado.

4. Quite los (3) tornillos de 7mm de cabeza hexagonal de la parte superior del revestimiento de la guantera.

5. Quite los (2) tornillos de 7mm de cabeza hexagonal de la esquina superior izquierda de la cavidad de la guantera.

6. Quite (1) tornillo Phillips del conducto del desempañador.

7. Quite el ducto y (1) tornillo Phillips expuesto.

8. Quite la almohadilla del tablero y (3) tornillos Phillips expuestos en la parte superior del bisel de la moldura del radio.





1. Haga palanca en el interruptor de control de desplazamiento y desconecte el cableado.

2. Suelte a presión la moldura del interruptor y quite los (2) pernos de 10mm de cabeza hexagonal expuestos. (Figura A)

3. Abra la puerta de la consola central, quite los (4) tornillos de la bisagra interior y quite la puerta.

4. Abra el cenicero y quite (1) tornillo expuesto.

5. Quite el cenicero y el (1) tornillo expuesto.

6. Desenganche la pequeña rejilla a la izquierda del interruptor de encendido y quite (1) tornillo expuesto.

7. Desenganche la base del bisel de la moldura del radio y quite.




Pontiac Firebird 1993-2002

1. Desenganche el bisel de la moldura del radio. (Figura A)

2. Quite los (3) tornillos de 9/32” que sujetan la unidad central de fábrica y desconecte el cableado.

Pontiac Sunfire1995-1999

1. Abra la guantera y quite (2) tornillos Phillips expuestos en el borde superior derecho del bisel de la moldura del radio. (Figura A)

2. Desenganche el bisel y quite.





1. Con un pequeño juego de pinzas, sujete el gancho retenedor de la parte trasera de la manija de la palanca de velocidades y quite el gancho.

2. Quite la manija de la palanca de velocidades. Desenganche la consola central y quítela.

3. Quite los (2) tornillos de 7mm de cabeza hexagonal expuestos debajo de los controles de clima.

4. Desenganche el bisel de la moldura del radio y quite.






1. Desenganche todo el bisel de la moldura del tablero. (Figura A)

2. Quite los tornillos que sujetan la unidad central de fábrica y desconecte el cableado.






PREPARACIÓN DEL KIT

Este kit le permitirá (4) tipos diferentes de profundidades de instalación para cualquier situación que requiera su vehículo. Consulte la ilustración que se presenta a continuación para ver las profundidades deseadas de montaje:

(a) Al ras, (b) Empotrado 1/2”, (c) Extendido 1/2”, (d) Extendido 1”. (Figura A)

Para instalaciones empotradas 1/2”:Extienda las ranuras a los lados de la carcasa de extensión Metra utilizando cortadores de cable para cortar una ranura que se abra 1/4” desde la carcasa de extensión. (Figura B)

Para instalaciones extendidas 1”:Deslice los espaciadores Metra en las ranuras a los lados de la carcasa de extensión como se indica en la ilustración. (Figura C)

PREPARACIÓN DEL KIT (CONT)

Para soportes de montaje superior y/o inferior:

1. Coloque el soporte superior y/o inferior en la carcasa del radio usando los pernos de cabeza de hongo y las tuercas Keps proporcionados con el kit.

2. Deslice la carcasa de extensión en la carcasa del radio hasta que llegue a la profundidad de montaje deseada.

Nota: Asegúrese de que los orificios al lado del kit estén despejados. De lo contrario, retire la carcasa de extensión, voltéela al revés y luego deslice la carcasa de extensión de nuevo en la carcasa del radio.

3. Coloque los pernos de cabeza de hongo y las tuercas Keps en los orificios a los lados de la carcasa ensamblada.

Nota: Los pernos de cabeza de hongo deben insertarse desde el interior de la carcasa.

Para soportes de montaje lateral:

1. Deslice la carcasa de extensión en la carcasa del radio hasta que llegue a la profundidad de montaje deseada.

Nota: Asegúrese de que los orificios al lado del kit estén despejados. De lo contrario, retire la carcasa de extensión, voltéela al revés y luego deslice la carcasa de extensión de nuevo en la carcasa del radio.

2. Coloque los soportes en la carcasa ensamblada a través de los orificios a los lados del kit.

Nota: Si está utilizando los conjuntos de soportes #9 o #10, debe insertar los pernos cabeza de hongo desde el exterior de la carcasa.

ENSAMBLE DEL KIT

1. Quite la reja de metal DIN de su radio de mercado secundario.

2. Deslice la reja en la carcasa ensamblada y sujétela doblando hacia abajo las pestañas de metal. (Figura A)

3. Deslice el radio de nuevo en la manga DIN hasta que haga clic.

4. Ubique el arnés de cableado de fábrica en el tablero. Metra recomienda el uso de un adaptador adecuado de acoplamiento de Metra o de Axxess. Pruebe el radio para verificar que funcione correctamente.

5. Vuelva a armar el tablero al revés de como lo desarmó.
